00:00Man, there's a wild story going on right now with Mark Walter, the owner of the Dodgers, who just sold
00:05his Los Angeles Lakers, and you've got to wonder what's going on here.
00:10There's a very complicated investigation federally going on right now with Mark Walter, the owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers,
00:17and it's got to do with money laundering.
00:21He owns many businesses, and reportedly, he has been filtering money from those businesses into the Dodgers to be able
00:31to pay for all of these big-time contracts that they have and all the monies that they've paid out
00:37to all these players, especially the deferred money.
00:39It's very complicated.
00:41And here you are with a man that has found the loophole.
00:44Look, some folks are even saying this dynasty that the Dodgers have is built on false promises.
00:52It's really not anything where you look at the dynasty as built on falsehoods.
00:57Now, I say he's found the loopholes.
01:01Now, Major League Baseball has to close these loopholes.
01:04You know, this goes back to when, like, Trump was talking about the loopholes in the tax code.
01:09Hey, if you don't like the game, Major League Baseball, change it.
01:13This is the owners now having this stuff come back to haunt them where one Major League Baseball team is
01:20taking advantage of their own code on how they do business.
01:25You don't like the way the Dodgers are doing business?
01:27Mark Walter, who is under federal investigation, has found a way to be able to pay for all of these
01:34players by circumnavigating a system that Major League Baseball has implemented.
01:39As I said, it's a complicated system, but it's not built on a false dynasty.
01:44This is a dynasty built on what Major League Baseball and their owners currently have on how they pay players
01:51and how they end up making money.
01:53So Mark Walters, again, he may be in major problems right now when it comes financially with the federal government.
02:01But when it comes to Major League Baseball, he's built this dynasty the right way because of the loopholes that
02:07Major League Baseball has created with the other owners.
02:11What does this mean?
02:12We have maybe a baseball work stoppage coming up.
02:15Hey, guys, the Dodgers are the evil empire right now.
02:19And the Dodgers have taken full advantage of every single opportunity that they can have when it comes to building
02:27their team and paying their players.
02:28This is something that you created.
02:31You can't sit there and blame the player.
02:34Blame the game.
02:35That's what's happened here.
02:37This is why Major League Baseball is in the position they're in and the National Football League is in the
02:43position that they're in.
02:44You know why?
02:45In the NFL, the 32 owners believe in profit sharing.
02:49They're not as any powerful as the 32nd team in the standings.
02:54Every single team makes the same amount of money based on the television network money.
02:59And this is how those teams operate.
03:01You know, 97% of the NFL operating budget comes out of the television deals.
03:05It has nothing to do with local attendance.
03:08It has nothing to do with all of these stadiums that are being generated by these NFL owners.
03:12It comes down to TV money.
03:14The NFL is such a well-oiled machine in how they do business.
03:19This is why every single franchise, 25%, Forbes just came out with the increases that the NFL owners have shown
03:29over the last 10 years.
03:30You're talking 20% to 30% increase in volume when it comes to value of these football teams.
03:38Why?
03:39Because the NFL knows what they're doing and how they run their teams.
03:42You're only as strong as the weakest link on your football league.
03:47And that's why the National Football League is in a position that they're in a Major League Baseball is not
03:52in that position.
03:54Major League Baseball has a lot more to worry about than just the players coming this December.
03:59They've got to worry on how they're going to be able to survive when it comes to the economics that
04:05you have with trying to generate money based on TV.
04:08What Major League Baseball has done, Major League Baseball has turned their sport into a regionalized sport, whereas the NFL
04:16is a national brand.
04:17Outside of Los Angeles with the Yankees and the Dodgers, you don't really watch Cincinnati Reds baseball.
04:24You're not watching Milwaukee Brewers baseball.
04:27You're not watching Tampa Bay Rays baseball.
04:30You are watching Dodgers and Yankees.
04:32In the NFL, it doesn't matter if you play in Green Bay or you're in Carolina.
04:37The ratings are through the roof.
04:39We just saw something this last week when it came to the first exhibition week of the season for the
04:44NFL.
04:442.5 million people watched an exhibition game between the Rams and the Chiefs.
04:52These are players that you'll never see in your entire life ever again.
04:56But it's about the brand of the National Football League that has been just put out in front of America
05:02because of the way their television network and the way their television packages have been presented to the public.
05:08America can't get enough of football, both college and the professional ranks.
05:13This is why the NFL is king and college football is queen when it comes to television ratings and it
05:19comes to the revenues.
05:20I saw the numbers that we were being shown when it came to the World Cup.
05:26Southeastern Conference and Big Ten football kills those numbers.
05:29All right.
05:30Again, Dodgers aren't broke.
05:32They're just taking advantage of the system here.
