00:00It's really hard to capture the triple crown in baseball.
00:04I mean, it's one of the hardest things to do, especially in this day and age, Tom,
00:07where batting average is so coveted.
00:10It's like disappeared in baseball, essentially.
00:12You have a few guys hitting over 300, and that's it.
00:14We have a potential guy to do it this year in Jordan Alvarez of the Astros,
00:19and he's not a typical guy here because you wouldn't have expected to have this average.
00:23But if he doesn't hit a home run, it's like he gets a hit almost every time out.
00:27So Miguel Cabrera is the last one to do this.
00:30I believe it was 2012.
00:32Miggie's a Hall of Famer.
00:34Jordan has a trajectory of a Hall of Famer, too.
00:37And it does feel like he's going to get the triple crown this season
00:43because you just look at the guys behind him for a lot of this.
00:47The only way, I guess, that it wouldn't happen, Tom, is if they just decided –
00:51we're not pitching to the guy the rest of the season.
00:53Now, it started to happen a little bit.
00:55A lot – he's seeing a lot less fastballs.
00:57I know that.
00:58But I think he's going to get it.
01:01And this is for the AL triple crown, just so we're clear about that overall.
01:08The issue I would have with one of them is – two of them.
01:12I don't think it would be the average.
01:14It would be the home runs and the RBIs because, as we noted just a couple segments ago
01:18or right before that, Camonero is right behind him at 35 home runs.
01:21So, if Jordan is seeing just a few less viable, hittable pitches,
01:27he may be able to turn those into singles or doubles just because he's a good hitter.
01:31But truly grooved pitches that he can turn into home runs, maybe not as much as they are.
01:36Also, the lineup for the Astros, if they're just failing to produce overall,
01:40his RBIs will naturally be lower because unless he's hitting solo home runs,
01:43he needs runners on base ahead of him in order to knock those guys in for RBIs.
01:47So, I want to believe it just because it's fun to see sports history,
01:50but I do think that there's a potential we lose two of the three.
