26:26And it was originally used as an insult, very much an insult towards men who weren't acting in a particularly
26:31macho or manly way
26:32and were being a bit cowardly and a bit weak.
26:35And baby, at the same time, became a term of affection for a girlfriend or a lover.
26:41And it's been that way for centuries. And, of course, we use it that way today.
26:43And so it's probably only natural that bimbos switched gender towards women who weren't acting as they should.
26:50And it became particularly popular during the jazz age in the 1920s, 30s and 40s.
26:56Women started cropping their hair. They wore scandalously short skirts, exposing their ankle, which was a complete no-no in
27:03those days.
27:04And then the term flew under the radar for quite a long time, which happens with words quite often.
