01:12He said no change about capital gains. He said no change about negative gearing.
01:17So how can we trust him this time around?
01:19The other reason for the PM's visit, announcing a rearranging of the Henderson Strip,
01:24to accommodate a new defence precinct.
01:26The central section will be set aside to maintain nuclear submarines and build new Navy ships,
01:32with non-defence projects pushed to the northern and southern edges.
01:36This is a really exciting period for this region, but we have to do it right,
01:41we have to plan it properly, we have to invest accordingly and the clock is running.
01:46The next big question is how much all of this will cost.
01:49Initial estimates put the price at somewhere around $25 billion over the first ten years,
01:54but the final price tag could be much higher.
01:57This is a project that will be developed over more than ten years,
02:01and again it's anticipated that there will be further investment beyond that ten year period.
02:06Work will now begin on detailed plans for the area.
