06:05this level of compromise comes from a transfer of capacity in a not political world that transcends
06:17beyond the expectation that she the prime minister of Barbados at that moment Mia Motili she said that that it
06:26was a honor to
06:27support Venezuela in those times of tragedy, with this humanistic action, the

08:46moment and this has been a very important step in the solidarity in the Caribbean and we are going to
08:59listen to some of the statements at this time the acting president of the Caribbean and we are going to
09:04listen to some of the statements at this time.
09:04As you see, I'm grateful to hear the statement at this time and I gave it a very grateful to
09:10receive the prime minister of Barbados Mia Motley and I'm grateful to receive the prime minister of Barbados Mia Motley.
09:16And I have alluded to that the prime minister of Barbados, Mia Motley,
09:34During the terrible hours of the double
09:39terremoto that impacted Venezuela, the first
09:43minister was very careful of us, of our
09:47people, sent rescuers, humanitarian
09:50aid, CARICON, and sent this extraordinary
09:56campaign hospital that is here in Guarenas.
10:00During the first terrible hours, right after
10:03the double earthquake, Prime Minister Mudley
10:06was in constant contact with us.
10:08She coordinated help from CARICOM.
10:10She sent humanitarian help from Barbados.
10:12And also, she was able to send this wonderful
10:15hospital direct from Barbados to here.
10:37So, dear Prime Minister, thank you so much for your love and
10:40support to the people of Venezuela.
10:42But today, we also held ministerial meetings for the joint work
10:48between Venezuela and Barbados.
10:50Because we have been able to do so pizza in many areas.
10:53And we have come with us as well.
10:54And, we have to use the door to bless the first minister and I will
10:58be working in different small areas.
11:02En everything in different areas, like energy, agriculture,
11:22So today we signed agreements to start working in agriculture, in culture, in education,
11:31in tourism, also in air and maritime travel.
11:35And today we also signed a joint declaration for the work to come.
11:56en Venezuela.
11:57And other projects that we discussed while working.
12:00We visited today production units to show the prime minister how communal economy is working
12:08here in Venezuela.
12:29a nuestros pueblos.
12:31So in all these projects in tourism, education, language exchange, we have so many fields where
12:38the relationship between our peoples can be strengthened.
12:53del castellano.
12:54I told her when I visited her in Barbados that I would love for our teachers to go there
12:59and teach Spanish and for their teachers to come here and teach English as well.
13:25And we have discussed today all areas where we have potentialities that we share.
13:31the potential of Barbados and Venezuela to become a touristic multi-destination.
13:39Countries and sectors where we can work together.
13:55Gracias, PM.
13:56And I also thank the prime minister because I consider her not only a close person also
14:02we coincide in many, many endeavors such as our love for peace and the peoples of the world.
14:09So thank you so much, Prime Minister.
14:30And we will listen to the statements of Darcy Rodriguez, the acting president of Venezuela.
14:37Right now we are going to listen also to the statements of the prime minister of Barbados,
14:44Mia Motley.
14:47But more so for the Barbados who have been working here for the last few weeks
14:53in providing the medical support and services to the people of this area in Venezuela.
15:13As you said, from the time we heard about the first earthquake and then the second earthquake,
15:21we were in continuous communication because we were truly worried about what was happening
15:27and the extent to which you have now had to face such a tremendous loss of lives
15:33and dislocation for others who have been lucky enough not to have lost their lives.
15:59We belong to the same neighborhood and we have the same family and friends.
16:06And therefore we understood that it was our duty to show solidarity and to work with you in times of
16:12grave stress.
16:13Y pertenece a vecindario.
16:28As you said earlier, we share the same love for people
16:32and we want to ensure that wherever persons are in need, particularly as a result of natural disasters
16:40or elements of the climate crisis, that we believe that it could be anyone of us.
16:45And therefore it is always important for us to step up to the plate and help each other.
19:43And I'd like to salute David Clark from the Barbados Defense Force
19:49and also Commander Goodrich.
19:51They have been anchoring everything here on behalf of us and the Barbados Defense Force.
19:58And I want you to know that we do not take for granted the sacrifices which you have made
20:04to ensure that this can happen for the people of Venezuela.
20:23Indeed, we thank you.
20:25Y de hecho, le damos mucho las gracias.
20:30And all of the other Bajans who I see behind there hiding in the back,
20:35I want you to thank the ones who are not here
20:38and to let you know that I've come to let you know that your sacrifice
20:42is truly appreciated by the rest of us at home
20:46because you're carrying the Barbados flag high for us.
21:06And finally, I'd like to thank our ambassador, Aquinas Clark,
21:10who has been a Trojan in making sure that the relationship between our two countries
21:15continues to become stronger and stronger and stronger.
21:31I genuinely believe that your training as a member of the Barbados Defense Force
21:36before taking up this diplomatic posting the last few years
21:40has allowed you to be able to equip yourself in the manner in which you have,
21:47and also to be a true, true, stellar ambassador of our nation.
22:11And we thank as well the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all of the officials
22:15who will have also ensured that this can be as smooth a journey as it has been the last few
22:22weeks.
22:35Barbados is not a large country, but we have a large heart.
22:44And while we may not be able to give what others can,
22:48we can do what we can with love and with compassion.
22:53And that is why we continue to work with the people of Venezuela because there have been occasions,
22:59especially in the last 50 years, where the government and people of Venezuela
23:04have been there for Barbados and the people of the Caribbean generally.
23:40We believe the time has come, as we said in our previous meeting, to deepen that cooperation now
23:46in very tangible ways from the areas of agriculture and food, security, fisheries, tourism, international transport,
23:57be it air or maritime transport, and of course, education and health.
24:22The convias of flights between Venezuela and Barbados will make it easier for this not to simply be a matter
24:29about governments cooperating,
24:31but people to people cooperation as well, and trade.
24:48We understand the importance of being able to give our people affordable access to food,
24:54and we believe that this is the first area in which we can truly see the tangible signs of cooperation
25:02emerging.
25:16There are already imports in fruit that is flowing, but we would like to add production to those imports so
25:23that it becomes sustainable for both countries.
25:25And there are already imports of fruits, but we want to add other imports to ensure that the cooperation between
25:35the two countries is sustainable.
25:37On the issue of language, we have had in the past sporadic examples of training.
25:43We want to put that on a more solid footing, as Madam President, you said, with teachers coming from Venezuela
25:50to Barbados,
25:51and Barbados sending teachers to Venezuela also for periods of time, so that our people truly can become bilingual.
26:19We are too close geographically to allow language and history to separate us.
26:33And we hope that from January 2027 that we can get the exchange of teachers going, as well as making
26:42provision for more persons to come to Barbados to learn English,
26:47and more persons to come to Venezuela to learn Spanish in the areas that are professional or work related,
26:57where people have already left the school system.
27:20So, Madam President, I thank you for your hospitality, but above all else, we continue to work together.
27:28In ways that will bring honor and value to our people, and hopefully to make all of our people's sleep
27:36easier by recognizing that if we work collaboratively,
27:40we can make a difference, as we have done here, in a very small way to the people of this
27:45region,
27:46where 2,700 people would have received relief purely by reason of the decision to bring this hospital to this
27:54place after this horrific set of earthquakes.
28:20This is what mature diplomacy looks like. We will not always agree on everything, but with those areas in which
28:27we can agree with.
28:28We must make progress always for our people. Thank you.
28:37Thank you very much.
28:43Those were the statements of the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Motley,

29:47Motley said that they were assured that her government needed to be present and show solidarity
29:53since the very first moment following the earthquake that struck the country.
29:57The Prime Minister also said that solidarity is shown through the presence of the field hospital
30:02where more than 1,000 patients were treated and more than 70 surgeries were performed.
30:09In this context, Motley said that this was a gift coming from love and solidarity.
30:14Motley took the opportunity to thank the commander that is at the forefront of the medical team,
30:19stating that her government does not take their sacrifice for granted.
30:24She also thanked the Ambassador of Barbaros to Venezuela and all the senior officials present in the place.
30:29The Prime Minister said also that the time has come to deepen the collaboration and the solidarity,
30:34referring to agriculture, tourism, marine transportation, food, and more.
30:38Motley said also that they want to add food production to the cooperation between both countries.
30:43She also made reference to an inter-exchange of teachers in order to improve languages.
30:48In this context, she said that both countries are too close geographically to allow language to be a barrier.
30:54Finally, she thanked once again the Aptin President of Venezuela, Delci Rodriguez,
30:58who affirmed the joint work, the collaboration, and solidarity of both countries.
31:03And this statement is coming from the Aptin President of Venezuela, Delci Rodriguez,
31:07and the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Motley, in her official visit to the country,
31:13following the visit that they both were making to the field hospital Type II in Guarenas in Miranda States
31:20that was provided by Barbados following the two earthquakes that destroyed the country two months ago.
