Prosecutors in the Lindsay Clancy case called their second rebuttal witness Monday, Aug. 24, a forensic psychologist who testified about Clancy’s mental state and possible reasons for why she killed her three children. Clancy, 36, is charged with the murders of her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan, whom she strangled to death with exercise bands at the family’s home in Duxbury, Mass., in January 2023.

00:03The next bullet is her response to her husband's question, what did you do?
00:09So when he got home around 6 p.m. on January 24th, and the house was quiet, and he went
00:20in,
00:21thought people might have been playing hide-and-seek with him, called downstairs, didn't get an answer,
00:26called upstairs, didn't get an answer, went upstairs, found the bedroom door locked,
00:33unlocked it with his key, went in, saw some blood there, saw the window was open, ran downstairs,
00:40and he saw his wife, Lindsay, lying there semi-conscious.
00:45And he said his first question was, what did you do?
00:53And her response was, I tried to kill myself.
00:58Now, I thought that if she had actually experienced this command hallucination,
01:05that she might have said something like, I did what I had to do, or I did what the voice
01:10said,
01:11or something like that.
01:12But no, she said, I tried to kill myself.
01:16Thank you for having me.
01:16You're in here.
