I decided to revisit one of the greatest 16-bit platformers ever made: Super Mario World! This time, I'm playing it through an emulator and using a keyboard as my controller.
I started a brand-new game and made my way through the early stages, eventually reaching Donut Plains 2. Can I handle Super Mario World without a traditional controller?

01:38Which is just basically the easiest route to Bowser from the start.
01:46Uh, what I mean by that is, um, the back door to Bowser's Castle in like World, I think you
01:53can see it from World 3.
01:55You can see it from there, you can get it from there. But like, when you hit the back door,
02:00uh, there's like different, if you go with the normal way, there's, uh, there's like different doors you can take.

02:18Bowser's Castle, in the final one. Uh, the back door, just takes, just starts you off like, uh, it just
02:27gives you those back, those easiest routes possible.

03:13Um, and when I played, uh, like fifteen years ago, I left off in the forest of illusion. Basically, I
03:21got stuck, I didn't know what to do.
03:23What I was supposed to do, in the first world, in the first level of the forest of illusion, I
03:28was supposed to find the secret exit.
03:30That gets you to the ghost house there, and then, oh. And then, uh, and then after the ghost house,
03:41you get to the second, um, you get to the next world.
03:53Uh, yeah, I messed up. That's gonna happen when you're playing with a keyboard. Sometimes.
04:03But anyway, uh, back to the forest of illusion. You're supposed to beat the first world with a secret exit.
04:09That gets you to the forest of illusion go-house ghost house.
04:12Then the correct exit from the ghost house gets you to chocolate island, which is the sixth world.
04:24Yeah, save. Why not?

06:05there is a way to get out of that Forest of Illusion, I just don't remember it.
