00:00Cholo the rooster had just been attacked trying to protect his girls.
00:04His eyes closed.
00:06And by the time Dina and her family found him, he was in really bad shape.
00:11My husband went out to do barn chores and he realized that our raccoon had been in the coop and
00:16had attacked a few of our birds.
00:18He actually saw the raccoon making a way with Cholo in his mouth.
00:22His eyes closed.
00:25There's some dry blood around his beak.
00:26By the time my husband had brought him inside, he was soaking wet.
00:31For Silky, being that wet is really dangerous because their feathers are more like fur.
00:37So they can't really protect them from the weather the way regular feathers would.
00:41So Tina and her family knew that they had to act fast.
00:46Is that yummy?
00:48Yeah.
00:49But before Cholo became this brave little rooster protecting his ladies,
00:54he was actually found dumped on the side of the highway, which is how he ended up in Dina's care.
01:01Cholo was an absolute angel for probably the first 48 hours.
01:05And then he realized that he could get away with murder here.
01:11He was very interested in trying to find Dina and making her life a little difficult.
01:18Very rude.
01:19Stop.
01:20And it didn't matter where I was on the property.
01:22He would find me, focus in on me, and attack.
01:27Is that necessary?
01:29Cholo had been with Dina for just a couple of months when everything changed.
01:35He was such a sassy bird and he had so much spunk.
01:39Stop it, Cholo.
01:41That I was like, this is not how Cholo goes out.
01:45And little by little, Cholo started acting like himself again.
01:49And then one morning, it was the most glorious sound that I had ever heard.
02:00And eventually, Cholo was fully back with his girls, causing problems.
02:05And yes, back running at Dina, which is honestly pretty bold,
02:10considering the fact that she quite literally saved his life.
02:13Stop it, Cholo.
02:16You're out of control now.
02:17Cholo is honestly the definition of small but mighty.
02:21If only we could all harness a little bit of our inner Cholos.
02:28I'm not even safe in my own home.
02:30The world would be a much more interesting place, that's for sure.
02:33Rude.
02:34That is what I love about Cholo.
02:36Like, he may be small and dramatic and yeah, he's like a walking menace with feathers, okay?
02:43But when I counted, he protected his ladies.
02:47And honestly, no matter how big or small an animal is,
02:50they all deserve someone that's willing to fight for them too.
02:54He's not just a chicken.
02:57He's our Cholo.
02:59He's our Cholo.
03:00He's our Cholo.
03:02He's our Cholo.
03:03He's our Cholo.
03:04He's our Cholo.
03:04He's our Cholo.
