00:00Speaking of that Cubs bullpen and how Craig Council handles it, Bruce,
00:03how do you think he handles the eventual return of Justin Steele?
00:07What role do you think he fills?
00:09Well, I think we're a ways away from that.
00:12I mean, if he fills any role, he'll be in the bullpen,
00:16and he'll be brought in probably to get out left-handers.
00:19If you have three of five left-handers coming up in a situation,
00:25you'll handle it.
00:26But first and foremost, he's got to pitch against competition.
00:31He hasn't done that in almost a year, in what, maybe nine months.
00:37With that in mind, he's got to get on the mound and compete again.
00:43And then you have to see how his stuff plays.
00:46You know, is he going to have command after all this time?
00:49He basically has a new elbow with a new shelf in it.
00:53But counting on him to be something to really make a difference for you,
01:02I think, is the real long shot.
01:03It's not that he doesn't want to.
01:05It's not that I'm predicting he won't get an opportunity.
01:08But, you know, that's a long shot.
01:11Ben Brown is, I think, more of a realistic guy to look at here
01:18in the second or third week of September, coming in there,
01:22knowing that he pitched outstanding as a bullpen guy,
01:25that he was outstanding as a starter,
01:27that he has swinging this stuff with the 97 and the knuckle curve.
01:32Those are all elements that make you think, you know,
01:35they will have more people to look at here over the next 29 games.
01:41you could look at it,
01:41but it hasn't it's spring because it is okay?
01:41you'll keep on 19 let's go through it.
01:41You'll keep on, like,
