00:00India today is here at Trishuli, one of the worst affected. Remember, Grossovo, Trishuli and Nova Cota, three of these
00:09market cities were totally destructed, devastated, destroyed.
00:13Here in Trishuli, the entire landscape in 24 hours has gone totally changed. There was a Buddha temple, which now
00:21seems to be only one pagoda which is left.
00:23Now, exactly across this line, there was a hanging bridge. Now, the hanging bridge is no more hanging. Many people
00:29were there and look at the furious flood.
00:33The river which is flowing up to 8 to 10 feet now, look at this. These markings, the footprint of
00:39devastation that it has left itself says that water was flowing up to 90 to 100 feet above the level
00:45that it is flowing now.
00:46Just across on the side looks like a river beach, which is no more. I mean, this was a bus
00:52stand. Multiple bus parking it was made and the whole bus stand is now turned into rubble and debris.
00:58This looks like a flattened surface area. Just on the across side, look at the residential area has turned into
01:05a ghost town in 24 hours.
01:06And now we see, look at this part. This was a school. Many children were there. Now, all are going
01:12missing.
01:12Perhaps why the number of casualty could be way too higher than what is coming at the moment.
01:18The reason is the furious flood. The mayhem came from Tibet via this Trishuli River has washed away this entire
01:25fully flourished Trishuli town.
01:29Just across the Noa Kota, Trishuli, Soro. These are the exclusive ground report you are seeing on India today from
01:36Trishuli.
01:37The whole landscape of Trishuli that's been totally devastated. This has left the footprints of destruction.
01:46Never ever Nepal has witnessed this kind of tragedy, unlike what it had seen during the earthquake.
01:54But this is mayhem, particularly in the difficult geographical terrain where even the rescue, search operations and restoring is nearly
02:03impossible.
02:05This is the ground reality of Nepal. This part where it has been totally destroyed.
02:10At ground zero in Trishuli, bringing you this exclusive report for India today. This is Ashutosh Mishra.
02:16It's a mayhem that what I see here at ground zero in Trishuli. The river not only changed its course,
02:23but it eventually changed the direction to 180 degree with the debris that was flowing via Tibet to Rossova.
02:31And then it came to Trishuli market. That whole landscape that you see was fully flourished.
02:35There was heavy crowded market. There were hotels. There were school, college, bus parking.
02:41It was the most buzzing place in this part of Nepal. But now what had happened, the moment, you know,
02:47hardly people, I mean there were hundreds of those houses.
02:49People could not even get an opportunity to escape, to run. However, many at the, just across side of the
02:55area were able to escape to the mountain areas, to the hilly terrain.
02:59But hundreds of these people were trapped. And when the debris attacked, all their houses gone in the debris.
03:06And that makes really an apprehension that number of casualties and number of missing persons were in this part of
03:12Nepal.
03:13The Trishuli remain one of the worst affected. India today is reporting from the ground.
03:17And what I am seeing through my eyes is actually explains the magnitude of this natural calamity in Trishuli.
03:25At Ground Zero, in Trishuli, Nepal, this is Ashutosh Mishra for India today.
