00:00Well, we did learn that Carlos Correa is next week, could be back September for the Astros
00:07who are trying to make a push and a run here.
00:10And that would be a big, that would be a big boost to this team who offensively, outside
00:16of you know who, has been pretty inconsistent here.
00:20And they should not be.
00:21This is a team that should be scoring, you know, six, seven runs a game here against
00:26inferior pitching.
00:27But Correa would be a good boost for this team if they can get him back in September.
00:33Yeah, Dana Brown, it's not that he did, Joe, a terrible job as GM.
00:37It's just like, when you look at him, can you identify any, like, great move the Astros
00:41have made under him, free agent or traded?
00:44Doesn't it feel like they've just gotten worse progressively every single year?
00:49And, you know, certainly, I don't know, Joe, the machinations as to, like, what that conversation
00:53is like with Dana Brown and Jim Crane, the owner.
00:55But I'm going to guess in the offseason, Jim Crane said to Dana Brown, hey, we do not
01:00have Greinke or Verlander or Keuchel or Cole or anyone.
01:04Go get us some pitcher.
01:07And their rotation, Joe, was horrible.
01:09And they may have, you know, had a complete bust with this guy, Imai, from Japan.
01:15I mean, think about that.
01:16You know, the owner says, go ahead and give this guy 50, 60 million dollars.
01:20And two weeks into the season, he's like, I don't like it here.
01:22I'm not comfortable.
01:23I mean, like, don't you say, like, wait a second here.
01:26Like, did you do your research?
01:27Did you look into this guy?
01:29And I think that's part of it.
01:31And unfortunately for Joe Espada, I think his time is going to come to a quick end, too,
01:35here with Houston, unless, Joe, somehow they make this miraculous run toward the playoffs.
01:40I don't, at this point, it can't be a very positive atmosphere that's going on there.
01:45And the other question, Joe, that you have to ask yourself is if Houston doesn't make it,
01:49and let's say Seattle climbs in or some other team, does Houston hit that reset button like
01:54they did 10 years ago when Jeff Luno was the GM and just dismantle everything and then start
02:01over the draft process of getting younger and starting over?
02:05I think there's a chance that that happens.
02:06And then what happens to your Don?
02:09That'll be a fun talk.
