00:00Heavy rain brought flooding to parts of New Jersey yesterday, covering roadways,
00:04stranding vehicles, and causing travel issues across the state.
00:07We even had several ground stops at airports throughout the night yesterday.
00:11Yeah, it was not a good evening in some areas.
00:13You can see some footage there from Ephrata, PA, there in the Lancaster area.
00:17Newark and Linden, New Jersey, and now it was shots.
00:19Not a good situation, just way too much rainfall.
00:22And we want to take a look at what's going on tonight.
00:25We are dealing still with spotty storms over the next few hours still.
00:30We've had even a severe thunderstorm warning a little south of Tom's River, not far from Atlantic City today.
00:35But that's been right along the coastline.
00:37So there are still some drenching downpours, but areas around Richmond, you'll have some lingering storms that maybe linger a
00:42little longer into the night.
00:44You can see that streaky thing under the clouds there in Charleston.
00:47That's fog, patchy-dense fog there in some spots.
00:50We'll see some patchy fog in other areas as well.
00:53But a pleasantly cool night here up to the north.
00:56Might be a few spots.
00:57There's that shot from Ephrata.
00:59Might be a few spots near Saranac Lake that drop into the upper 30s tonight.
01:02That's the light blue.
01:03Getting to be that time of the year.
01:04We've had one or two nights in August when Saranac Lake fell to the upper 30s as well.
01:10But a gorgeous Saturday.
01:11This is great weather.
01:12You like to bottle this up and save it for a rainy day.
01:15Sunday, most of us also look good, but there will be two things that begin to maybe make it a
01:20little less pleasant.
01:21One, storms well to the north.
01:23Some could be severe Sunday evening up into the northern Adirondacks, the Green and White Mountains.
01:26And also, the heat's going to build, expanding out of the Midwest and moving into the northeast.
01:32So we can show you the exodus of those lingering showers and storms this evening in southeast Virginia, pulling off
01:37the Jersey Shore.
01:38Saturday, no complaints to the northeast.
01:41But Sunday, look out for a few of these storms north.
01:43You can see that modeling hinting at even a few isolated downpours farther south into areas around Philly.
01:49But, again, that's going to be few and far between.
01:52Better chance for disruptive thunderstorms to the north.
01:54We just need to keep an eye out for that on Sunday.
01:57And up near the international border, downpours, hail, flash flooding, and straight-line winds.
02:04Monday, we begin to heat up even more here into the Ohio Valley.
02:07Look out there in Ohio, West Virginia, Pittsburgh.
02:09And there's going to be a zone of some storms.
02:11We're going to see this off and on into next week here with rounds of storms on the northern fringe
02:15of the heat.
02:16And some of this could become severe on Wednesday, another day that we're highlighting here into upstate New York.
02:21Two tornadoes confirmed from the area around Saratoga Springs yesterday, by the way, southeast of the Adirondacks, north of Albany.
