Kannada tourists who were stranded in Nepal due to flash floods have safely returned home. A group of 54 Kannada-speaking tourists who had traveled to Nepal from various parts of Karnataka were caught in the devastating floods. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah spoke with the stranded Kannadiga tourists via video call, assuring them of all necessary assistance and encouraging them to stay safe. The CM coordinated arrangements to bring them back to Karnataka safely. One of the returnees, Mallinath from Kalaburagi, narrowly escaped death in the Nepal floods. He had shared information about the ground situation via video call while still in Nepal. The floods caused widespread destruction, wiping out villages and homes, and cutting off communication with many people still stranded. Some tourists reported that routes back were dangerous due to landslide risks, prompting requests for airlift facilities. The CM assured he would look into the situation and provide all possible help to bring the stranded Kannadigas home safely.
