00:00Hello, the rain has arrived and low pressure will be staying with us as we head through
00:06tomorrow and into the start of the new week. So this is the bigger picture. We've got this
00:10area of low pressure clearing into the North Sea, replaced by yet another area of low pressure
00:16as we go through into Sunday and gradually clearing through as we head into Bank Holiday
00:21Monday with a ridge toppling in behind and then more weather fronts as we go into Tuesday
00:27to bring a focus for some rain. But through the rest of this evening there will still be the risk
00:33of
00:33some thunderstorms across eastern parts of England. The low pressure clears its way to the North Sea
00:39so showers generally fading across England and Wales. A different picture across Northern Ireland
00:45and more so Western Scotland will have this band of rain pushing its way north and eastwards,
00:51heaviest over the Western Hills and across the south of Scotland and just running into northern
00:57parts of England. A mild night note though to the south of that, temperatures holding up at around
01:0316 to 17 degrees, cooler across the far north where we hold on to northerly winds, Lurwick there at only
01:1110 degrees. So to start Sunday morning, instead it's a damper picture across Western Scotland and
01:18northern parts of England. This band of rain will continue to push its way northwards, turning drier
01:24for a time to the south of that. Across eastern parts of England, East Anglia, the Midlands, the
01:29southeast, largely dry initially with some sunny spells. But the low pressure moves its way in and that
01:36will bring a rash of showers. Some of these showers are going to be merging to give some longer spells
01:42of
01:42rain. There'll be some hail mixed in, some gusty winds, frequent lightning and the odd rumble of thunder as
01:48well. Brisk winds still holding on, especially across the south coast. Temperatures in the best of the
01:55sunshine, 23, 24 degrees, but feeling rather cool underneath these heavy, possibly trench or downpours.
02:03As we go through Sunday evening, the showers will be pushing through quite quickly, but there could
02:08still be some surface water flooding with these. And for many places, we will hold on to some showers
02:14as we go through into the start of Monday. But there will be some clearer spells in between as the
02:19low
02:19drifts its way further eastwards. So temperatures overnight, perhaps somewhat a little bit cooler
02:24in places, more so again across the far north of Scotland, otherwise 12 to 14 degrees.
02:31Now, as we start the bank holiday Monday, there will be a few showers around as the area of low
02:37pressure drifts its way eastwards. Across the east, that's where we'll hold on to the best of the
02:42sunshine through the morning. Further towards the west, some showers will be developing, pushing their
02:47way in, but they'll generally start fading and easing away as, as I reminded you, we have got this ridge
02:54of high pressure moving its way in. So that will help fade the showers as we go through Monday
03:00afternoon. So a brighter picture to the far south and west with generally lighter winds as well.
03:06But temperatures ranging from 16 to up to 22 degrees. Now that is all from me for now, but stay
03:13tuned to
03:13the radar that is on the Met Office app, and I'll see you very soon. Bye-bye.
03:18Bye-bye.
