00:02Well, it's almost the calm before some stormier conditions into tomorrow, with some heavy rain on its way.
00:08For now, though, many places will be dry.
00:10There will eventually start to see some low cloud drift in from the south, some mist and fog in places.
00:16Rather windy towards the northwest, with some showers that could turn heavy for a time with some hail and thunder,
00:22before eventually a band of heavy rain starts to edge into the far northwest through the early hours of the
00:27morning.
00:28Quite windy here through much of the night.
00:30In fact, many western areas will be quite windy as we head our way towards dawn.
00:34Some rain just about starting to edge into southern areas of Wales and parts of Devon and Cornwall.
00:40And with the added wind, some cloud and some rain in places, that means things won't be turning too chilly
00:45overnight.
00:46In fact, quite a mild night in places.
00:49Now, quite dry across many eastern areas to start.
00:52It will gradually turn more unsettled through the course of the day,
00:54this heavy band of rain slowly edging its way eastwards, turning quite heavy at times with some hail,
01:01possibly some thunder as well, especially towards the southwest later into the day,
01:06where the rain largely becomes a bit more showerier in nature.
01:09So some hail, some thunder, some heavy downpours in places, and also some quite strong gusty winds,
01:14possibly seeing some coastal gales towards the northwest through the course of the day.
01:19Temperatures closer to average towards many areas of the north,
01:23but across central, south and southeast England, it could turn quite warm.
01:27Temperatures pushing into the mid-twenties here.
01:30Now, eventually that rain will clear through the evening.
01:33It may linger on for a time, especially towards southeastern areas of England,
01:38still with the odd heavy downpour expected.
01:40But overnight, the rain will clear.
01:42It will turn mostly dry.
01:43The winds will turn a lot lighter as well, and with plenty of clear skies around,
01:48that means a real difference in temperature.
01:51Much chillier night to come.
01:52Most towns and cities pushing in towards the mid-to-high single figures.
01:56Still a little bit breezy towards the northwest, with some showers moving through here,
02:00but on the whole, a much drier start for many areas for Monday.
02:04And it's all down to high pressure building through Monday,
02:07so for many it should be a lot drier with lighter winds, more sunshine on the cards,
02:11perhaps a bit of higher cloud around at times, creating some hazier spells of sunshine,
02:16and still some showers towards the far north of Scotland by the end of the day.
02:20We could also just about start to see some rain towards the southeast later into the day.
02:26A few different models have this rain slightly further north and west,
02:30so we do need to keep an eye on that one,
02:32as it could be the difference between a dry day or a rather wet day.
02:35But for the time being, it looks like most of the rain stays out towards the southeast through much of
02:40the day.
02:40So that means many will see a dry afternoon, temperatures widely in the mid-to-high teens,
02:46if not the low 20s towards the southeast, so more around average for this point in September.
02:52And actually it should be quite a settled day for most on Monday.
02:56Then there is a change.
02:57We do need to keep an eye on developments out towards the Atlantic.
03:00This big area of low pressure starts to move through heading into Tuesday and Wednesday,
03:05likely to bring some rain on Tuesday and Wednesday.
03:09This could be heavy at times.
03:11Not only this, but some fairly strong gusty winds, particularly in the west.
03:15This could create some high coastal waves.
03:18Not only that, but if we take a look at where that wind is coming from, it's mostly southerly.
03:23So that means some areas could also see another batch of some warm weather.
03:27Temperatures possibly pushing into the mid-20s, maybe slightly higher in some places.
03:32Once again, a little bit of forecast uncertainty there.
