00:00This is Andy Burnham's fifth position on early release since he became Prime Minister. Of course
00:04it's welcome that PC Andrew Harper's colours are not going to be let out of prison, but we don't
00:09know the detail yet. We don't know how many people are going to be affected by this decision,
00:13and we don't know whether or not he's going to take up the Conservative plans of removing foreign
00:17offenders to jails overseas that we had secured, by the way, through legislation before the last
00:22general election. So Parliament returns on Tuesday. We look forward to seeing the detail,
00:26and of course it's welcome that PC Andrew Harper's colours are not going to be walking the streets.
00:31It's also ridiculous that we've got a situation in England where hundreds of prison places are lying
00:35empty because of a lack of prison officers. This is a crisis that's arisen on Labour's watch,
00:40and they need to get to grips with it.
