00:00America League Manager of the Year, Will Venable, is the heavy favorite.
00:05Chad Tracy is right on his heels.
00:06We thought maybe it would be Kevin Cash a couple of months ago,
00:09but boy, the White Sox season just seems like an open and shut case to me.
00:12As long as the White Sox make it, I think Venable is the guy.
00:16And certainly their odds on fan graphs have risen very high here.
00:20Can you make a case for Chad Tracy?
00:22I don't think it's going to be Cash at this point.
00:24The way Boston has played, putting them in the postseason,
00:27is certainly not going to be Boone.
00:28No, it's not going to be, Tracy, the argument I made for Kevin Cash
00:33or could make for Kevin Cash is if they just finish with the best record overall in MLB.
00:38I know they'll have the number one seed in the AL,
00:40but they took a little bit of a step back where they lost that series versus the Orioles,
00:46then they lost another series versus the Orioles.
00:47So their overall wins just took a step back.
00:50If they finish with the number one record in MLB,
00:52I can make a very clear argument for Kevin Cash to be the manager of the year.
00:55But I do think we're going to have things locked up at a certain point.
01:00And where the odds sit right now, it has to be Venable.
01:03They're going to make the postseason, the win of the division of what the preseason expectations were
01:09for the White Sox is dramatically different.
01:11Will Venable deserves it.
01:13National League Manager of the Year.
01:16We have Walt Weiss as the favorite, but Pat Murphy is right there, too.
01:20Craig Stammen, plus 500.
01:22Manningly, plus 500.
01:24Is Torrey Lavello a little sleeper here?
01:26If he can get the Diamondbacks into the postseason, I'm going to stop there.
01:29I think those five are the ones here, Tom.
01:33This is one I think you could take a shot at here.
01:35I mean, if Lavello gets Cattell Marte happy and Burns comes back and Arizona makes the playoffs,
01:40you know, they vote on this thing the day after the regular season ends.
01:44It's not based on the postseason.
01:47It could be.
01:48I mean, maybe Arizona's manager is the Manager of the Year.
01:52I mean, Walt Weiss, Manager of the Year?
01:54I don't know.
01:54It seems off to me.
01:56If I were to invest in anything, it would be Pat Murphy.
01:59Like, that's just – listen, if you're going to have the number one seed in the NL
02:04and have the best record in baseball, have a scene – you beat out the Dodgers
02:08that have the expectations through the roof.
02:10The Dodgers are the odds-on favorite for everything.
02:12The favorite for, you know, winning the NL, winning the World Series.
02:17This is all preseason.
02:18It's live.
02:19All these things.
02:19And yet you have a team that supersedes them.
02:22Now, again, this has nothing to do with the postseason.
02:24So, Pat Murphy having the best record in the NL and getting the number one buy,
02:28I think, is deserving of Manager of the Year.
02:30Maybe it's just fatigue that voters don't want to give it to him again,
02:33but I think he deserves it.
