00:06Today we're gonna talk about a case that's been making noise for a long time, at least a year,

00:12if I'm not mistaken. And even though I didn't know who he was, David,

00:18apparently he was a famous singer, especially among younger people. I started to learn about

00:25him because of this case, because they found a girl named Celeste in his Tesla vehicle.

00:30At first the authorities said that David was not a suspect, so everyone started

00:35saying that David was innocent, until recently when he was accused of this crime.

00:43It's probably one of the craziest stories in recent times involving a celebrity.

01:00Let's get into how it all started. It was September 8, 2025, at 12 o'clock, at 20 minutes past

01:08noon.

01:09The Los Angeles police had received a call alerting them about a vehicle that was giving off a strong odor

01:18in a towed car in Pound Lot. That was the situation at that moment. By the way, this car in

01:26Pound Lot, called Hollywood Tow,

01:28was on the 1000 block of North Mansfield Street and just a few meters from Labrie.

01:35If you've ever been to Hollywood, to the city of Hollywood, you'll know that this address is right in the

01:41heart of the tourist part of Hollywood.

01:43I mean, where the Walk of Fame is, for example.

01:49The employees mentioned that the Tesla car 2023 model with Texas plates had been found on a residential street in

01:57the Hollywood Hills on Bluebird Avenue.

02:01And this vehicle had many accumulated fines. The first one was from August 27, the 2nd, was from September 3rd,

02:10and the 3rd from September 5th.

02:14That's when the tow truck took the car to this vehicle in Pound Lot. The neighbors said that the car

02:19had been in that spot long before the first fine.

02:24It was estimated that it must have been at the beginning of August, which means it was in that spot

02:29for at least 3 or 4 hours.

02:32Later, it would be revealed that this Tesla car belonged to David Anthony Burke, which is the full name of

02:38the singer known as David.

02:41Now, when the police first arrived at the Carrington Lot, they already knew there was a person inside.

02:50Because they recognized the smell of death, which is unmistakable.

02:55In case you didn't know, since Teslas are electric cars, these vehicles don't have the engine in the same location

04:54I'm telling you, when I first saw this whole story,

04:59I thought it was impossible for David to be involved, because nothing made sense.

05:04The body of a miner in an artist's car that hadn't even been properly covered up.

05:10To me, it sounded like someone had stolen his car and used it to get rid of the body of

05:19this miner.

05:21That's what it seemed like to me at that moment.

05:34To better understand this case, we need to know the victim as well as the suspect.

05:39David Anthony Burke, better known as David.

06:11He started making music using a tool called BandLab.

06:16Which took him to another level of fame, thanks to his song called Romantic Homicide, which went viral on TikTok

06:23in 2022.

06:27And in this case, a lot of it has to do with TikTok, yes.

06:32I think it's the main platform where this man became famous.

06:37And later, where the news started to come out.

06:40And we're also going to talk about some crazy theories related to this case, which also came up through this

06:46platform.

06:47From that moment, from the release of that song called Romantic Homicide in 2022 and its viral spread.

06:53That's when his career apparently took off.

06:57Starting tours, opening for artists.

07:00I think he opened for Sisa.

07:02And in April 2025, he debuted at Coachella.

07:06Which is no small feat.

07:08Which is something every musician dreams of experiencing at some point and many never achieve.

07:16Honestly, the case is so disturbing.

07:20Because we're not just talking about a girl who was murdered.

07:23We're talking about a minor.

07:26Celeste was allegedly killed when she was 14 years old.

07:30But a little girl.

07:32Her full name was Celeste Abigail Rivas Hernandez.

07:37Born on September 7th, 2010.

07:39Her parents are Salvadoran immigrants.

07:42And they lived in Riverside County, about 110 kilometers southeast of Los Angeles.

07:48I'm not really sure, but I think Celeste was born in the United States.

07:51So she was an American citizen.

07:53But her parents were the ones who had traveled to the United States and started living there in California.

08:00Specifically, many said she was a shy girl.

08:04That she didn't talk much.

08:06And also that she had very good grades in school.

08:11On the internet, she was more active.

08:13She was part of forums.

08:15She was on Discord.

08:16And also on social networks like TikTok and Instagram.

08:21Like any teenager, she was active online too.

08:25According to the records, she would join a Discord server which was dedicated to the artist.

08:30David, who at that time was starting to become known.

08:35And it was in this Discord server that this relationship appears to have begun.

08:42Initially as a fan of the singer.

08:45But over time, according to other users, this was recorded.

08:50According to the authorities, other users considered Celeste to be the artist's girlfriend.

08:56Which is disturbing.

08:59We have to say, because we're talking about a minor with an adult.

09:03And that's how they would have met, right?

09:08Everything related to David's career started to be connected to this case.

09:15It was ironic that he had a lot of artistic ideas that made people think he was confessing to the

09:21crime.

10:09But I don't know. It's very strange. It's very weird.

10:14And you know, artists sometimes do things on purpose to leave clues.

10:21Or is there just a lot of symbolism, especially among Hollywood artists or people who live in California?

10:28Now, this video was released three years before the crime.

10:33Still, analyzing all these details makes you wonder.

10:37Are they just simple coincidences?

10:40Or was David already dating her and maybe hinting at what he was going to do?

10:46What we know is that Celeste's family reported that she had been running away from home at least since the

10:52year 2024.

10:54On February 14th, Valentine's Day that year, in 2024, she supposedly told her family that she was going to the

11:02movies.

11:03She left her house, but she never came back.

11:06The parents asked Celeste's brother if he knew anything about his sister, to which he said that she had supposedly

11:14left with a man and that this man was supposedly her boyfriend.

11:18At that time, they didn't know David's name or who he was.

11:22In the following days, the disappearance was reported.

11:26The family put up flyers and used social media to try to find her.

11:30And the next month, they found her.

11:32And the family then announced on social media that Celeste had returned home.

11:38Her classmates said that when Celeste came back,

11:42she told the story of having met a famous artist and that they were together for days,

11:48until the police supposedly found her and returned her to her family.

11:53Her classmates said that she was excited and also happy when telling this story.

11:59I mean, imagine a girl at that time was about 12 or 13 years old saying that she knew a

12:06famous person who had a lot of fans fans impressionable.

12:10I think that's the word for a minor.

12:12And is that also an abuse of power or a power imbalance?

12:17Besides, we're talking about a minor, which is already illegal in itself.

12:22But there's such a strong power imbalance like what her classmates mentioned.

12:30It makes everything much more sinister.

12:33She had also come back with a tattoo on her right index finger with the word S-H-H-H.

12:39S-H-H-H.

12:42And it's a tattoo that David also had on the same finger or has on the same finger.

12:46We also have to say that this is a tattoo that many artists usually have on their finger.

12:52Celeste's mom, although she was worried, saw that rebelliousness as something typical of a teenager.

12:58After this, she would have run away two more times.

13:01On March 19, 2024, and also on April 5 of the same year.

13:16Days later, neighbors reported that there was a dark Tesla that used to drive slowly around the neighborhood.

13:37At least they knew each other through the internet and also the reports of disappearances.

13:55Because David was already 18 years old when she was 12.

13:59And as I said, not just an adult, but a newly turned adult.

14:03An artist, a little girl who was impressed by this man's fame.

14:11Supposedly, let's talk about supposedly, because the trial hasn't happened yet and I don't want to get sued.

14:16So let's talk about supposedly. Supposedly, this has to be proven in court, obviously.

14:21Also, it's confirmed by the family that Celeste had run away before the official complaints.

14:27I mean, remember, there was one. The first time she ran away was in February of 2024.

14:34The family said that she had already run away before, which we can confirm.

14:38So maybe they had known each other for quite a while.

14:41And I dare say that, probably, because of the coincidences, it might have been around the time when the music

14:47video was released.

14:48In the last disappearance.

14:51At the beginning of April, that would turn out to be her final disappearance.

14:54Because months later, the body would be found in David's Tesla.

15:05Let's go to what the investigation found.

15:08At the beginning, the authorities said that David was cooperating with the investigation, right?

15:13And that he was not a suspect.

15:16I remember seeing very clearly media outlets and journalists saying that the authorities stated that David was not a suspect.

15:24They also didn't say that he was under suspicion or anything like that.

15:29Those are phrases that authorities or the police or investigators usually use for criminal cases.

15:35But apparently, they didn't want to compromise the investigation.

15:41Because nowadays, we know that they were probably already sure that he was involved.

15:47I mean, they were investigating.

15:49David lived in a four-bedroom house on Doheny Place in Hollywood Hills, with a monthly rent of $20,000.

15:59The lease for this residence had been made in the name of his manager, a man named Josh Marshall.

16:05This lease was from February 2024.

16:09That is, a few months before Celeste's last disappearance.

16:14It's also important to mention that this house was 150 meters from where the Tesla had been abandoned.

16:22In the first search of these residents, computers and other devices were seized.

16:28The original owner of the house, the one who owned the house and rented it to David and the manager.

16:36He canceled the contract with David and also with the manager.

16:39Then, after the news about Celeste's death became known, he decided to do his own investigation inside his residence, hiring

16:50a private investigator.

17:00I imagine it's because he could report David and the manager if they found things, if he found things out

17:10And indeed, he reported to the authorities that he had found a boom box, that this would be some kind

17:20of incinerator.

17:26Two unusual things happened with this story.

17:29First, a judge had determined that this investigation should be confidential, meaning the authorities couldn't announce anything so as not

17:38to compromise the investigation.

17:41That's something that doesn't usually happen.

17:44But knowing the power that apparently David had and also the money he had.

17:51Did this end up making a lot of sense?

17:55The other thing had to do with the presence of a grand jury that had been working in secret since

18:00November 26 behind closed doors.

18:06Listening to witnesses and reviewing the evidence.

18:09This meant that the authorities had plenty to work with to charge the artist.

18:14And the truth was that there was a bit of everything.

18:19There were witnesses from the family, schoolmates, and also people in David's circle.

18:25There were photos of the victim with the artist.

18:28For example, in January 2024, Celeste Rivas had appeared in a Twitch livestream with David.

18:37And in June of that year, Celeste had been photographed backstage during a concert by the singer at the Fonda

18:44Theatre in Los Angeles.

18:45So, we're not just talking about videos, there was also a live stream.

18:50And the private investigator hired by the owner of the property claimed to have found a digital camera inside the

18:56house that contained photos of both Celeste and David.

19:00Taken at the end of December 2024 and the beginning of January 2025.

19:07There was also a security camera that showed the moment when the Tesla was last moved by David on July

19:1329, 2025.

19:17Right before he started his tour through different cities in the United States.

19:21And this would be a huge confirmation in this case, because if the car wasn't moved anymore after that, the

19:28only movement after this, after July 29, 2025, when David moved that car, was the tow truck.

19:36I feel like there's nothing else to say, but, well, we have to go through a trial and see if

19:41he's guilty.

19:42And in the artist discord, there was some chat history that confirmed, although circumstantially, the timeline of the crime in

19:49the summer of 2024, when Celeste was already missing.

19:54David posted on this platform that he was having a creative block and about this creative block.

20:02It was also seen that there was an interaction in the artist's discord server because an anonymous user wrote the

20:09following directly.

20:13Release the one about the missing girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

20:19Which apparently sounds like this anonymous user wanted the artist to release the song about the missing girl.

20:26That's what we understood, at least at that moment.

20:32Celeste's family was still desperately looking for her and had filled the streets of Lake Elsinore with posters trying to

20:38find her.

20:41And, as far as we know, David didn't publicly respond to that comment or make any direct reference to the

20:47subject.

21:03In April of this year, 2026, the singer was finally arrested and formally charged with the murder of Celeste Rivas

21:12and what had been shocking a year ago, right?

21:15They were just talking about the body and that David wasn't a suspect and it went super viral at that

21:23time in April 2026.

21:26A few months ago, it made the case blow up again.

21:30He also was charged with abusing a minor because it was said that Celeste was underage.

21:36As those two XXX content was supposedly found on David's devices, apparently of minors and of Celeste, apparently.

21:46David pleaded not guilty, which means there will be a trial.

21:50And if he is found responsible for the crime, he will receive the highest possible sentence in the state of

21:57California, which would be the death penalty.

21:59According to the prosecution, the motive for the crime was found in a text message from April 22, 2025.

22:07In this exchange between David and Celeste, there was allegedly an argument and Celeste threatened the artist by saying she

22:15would tell everything about their relationship.

22:17And because she was underage, this would ruin his career.

22:23On April 23, there was an Uber record showing that David requested a car to pick up Celeste from Lake

22:31Elsinore, which is where Celeste lived with her family.

22:36Now, obviously, Celeste wasn't with her family at that time, because she was already missing, so apparently she was somewhere

22:42else, but still in that city.

22:45A little after that Uber ride, Celeste's phone signal stopped working and the last location was the singer's house.

22:53David's phone.

22:54That same night, it recorded that he sent messages to Celeste asking her where she was, possibly to create an

23:02alibi.

23:03The next day, the authorities found that David bought two chainsaws online, a shovel, a body bag, and also black

23:12bags and the boombox that we already mentioned earlier, which was apparently this incinerator that was found in the residence.

23:21The investigators believe that David used one of the chainsaws to cut the body in an inflatable pool that was

23:30in the garage of the residence, because the girl's DNA was also found there.

23:35It was also discovered that days after the crime, David drove to a remote area in Santa Barbara County, about

23:43180 kilometers northwest of his home, and it is believed that it was to get rid of evidence related to

23:51the crime.

23:51And in that area, Celeste's identification document was later found.

23:57Now, there's a very strong theory on the internet about a live stream.

24:04A stream that David supposedly did with two friends, a guy and a girl.

24:10I watched this stream and it was on a date after the murder.

24:15But obviously the thing about the car wasn't known yet, I mean, it was after the murder.

24:19But before Celeste's body was discovered, in this video, David mentions a terrible smell in his bathroom.

24:28They're doing this live stream at home, in the rental house, and the friend who appears in this live stream

24:37looks at him in a strange way.

24:40And a lot of people believe that this friend should be investigated and that possibly the second chainsaw had been

24:49acquired so that this friend could help David get rid of the body.

24:55You know how the internet and theories work, but that's what a lot of people believe.

24:59With this case, yes, nothing is confirmed.

25:02This is what is believed on the internet.

25:05Celeste's autopsy was released publicly and there you could see how terrible the case was.

25:09A death that points to a great deal of suffering and a level of brutality that's horrifying.

25:15Despite all this, the defense claims that their client is innocent.

25:19But David, even though he tried to pay bail to be released, a judge ruled out that possibility.

25:26This means that he's still being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Center.

26:51At least about the relationship between an adult and a minor.
