00:02Well, flash flooding at Grand Canyon National Park has killed one person and about 15 others
00:07are still believed missing. A 46-year-old man was found dead Sunday near Crystal Rapids along
00:12the Colorado River. The flood hit Saturday after storms swept through Bright Angel Canyon and the
00:18Phantom Ranch area. At least 62 people have been evacuated. Nearly all of the foot bridges across
00:25Bright Angel Creek were destroyed, cutting off pedestrian access across the water. The flood
00:30also swept large rocks and pieces of damaged infrastructure into the Colorado River. Several
00:37trails and campgrounds are now closed and the park's Trans Canyon water line is out of service,
00:42leaving limited water reserves. More showers and thunderstorms are possible throughout the rest
00:47of today and with the saturated ground raising the risk of more flash flooding.
