00:00In May 2025, a group of workers were carrying out construction tasks on a private property in the Coughlin neighborhood
00:07of Buenos Aires, in the garden of Casa Contigua.
00:12Buried underground, human skeletal remains were found.
00:17And it was Diego Fernandez Lima, a teenager who was only 16 years old when he disappeared without a trace
00:23on July 26, 1984.
00:26Medical examinations showed that the probable cause of death was a wound caused by a bladed weapon, and on his
00:32back, there was something that caused a huge controversy on social media when this happened.
00:38And it was believed that the remains had been found in the house where Gustavo Cerati himself lived, one of
00:44the most important musicians not only in Argentina, but in all of Latin America.
00:50The truth is that Cerati didn't even live there during the time of the disappearance, since the disappearance of Diego
00:56Fernandez Lima in 1984.
01:00Various hypotheses have emerged.
01:03One of the theories that gained strength was the possibility that Diego was somehow linked to clandestine groups or sects.
01:09That would be the reason for his disappearance.
01:12Another hypothesis pointed to a personal conflict involving Diego's circle.
01:16People from his school or his neighborhood.
01:18It was suspected that an argument resulting from those relationships could have ended in violence.
01:24That would explain the fatal wound he received in the back and the attempt to hide the body.
01:32The house where the remains were found buried belonged to none other than a schoolmate named Christian Graf.
01:41This former schoolmate had to come out and speak publicly to clarify what he knew and what connection he had
01:47to what happened.
01:48He denied being a close friend of Diego and also said that he never had contact with him or his
01:53family.
01:54Christian's testimony, rather than convincing many people or bringing peace to the family, had the opposite effect.
02:00For many it was too much of a coincidence that the body of his former schoolmate appeared in the garden
02:06of his house.
02:06And that the disappearance coincided with the time when they were in the same class.
02:11According to Graf, that was more cause and effect than coincidence.
02:15That is to say, according to him, someone else was responsible for taking Diego's life and for some reason decided
02:21to bury him in his own garden.
02:22Not on the old neighbor's property, nor anywhere else.
02:25Christian Graf, who is now 58 years old, was formally charged only with the crime of aggravated cover-up and
02:32suppression of evidence related to the handling of the discovery.
02:36He was not charged with homicide since that offense became time-barred decades ago.
02:41The case is still active, although progress is slow.
02:44The process is expected to be long and complex.
02:48But everyone who is waiting for justice remains hopeful that this stage will finally provide answers.
02:54And closure to a painful chapter after more than 40 years.
