00:52We were exercising him today because if he was out in the field with his mother,
00:56he'd be running around all day long trying to catch up with her.
00:59So what we're doing is we're simulating that,
01:01getting him some fresh air,
01:03and getting him used to running around with us.

01:10Lately he's been very rambunctious,
01:12and the more comfortable he gets with us and being outside,
01:16the funnier he actually gets.

01:32He's actually telling us how much exercise he needs right now.
01:36We're bringing him out in the nursery corral about once a day,
01:38for maybe about a half hour or so.
01:41As you can imagine,
01:42rhino calves need also a lot of sleep.
01:45So what we do is we'll seed him a bottle,
01:47run him around here for a little while,
01:49and then we'll bring him inside so we can take a nice nap.

01:54These folks have hand raised everything from rhinos to gorillas to cheetahs to tigers,
01:58every species we have here.
01:59So they really do a good job with rhino calves as well.
02:03Any greater one-horned birth is very significant.
02:06This is a little male, a little boy.
02:08We've had 68 of them born here,
02:10and there's only about 3,600 of these animals left in the world.
02:14So, which, believe it or not, is good news.
02:17They were up from, in 2007, I think the survey was about 2,500 animals.
02:21So they have done real well.
02:23Luckily, I think we've been real successful with them here as well.
