00:00President Trump dismissing concerns about the war with Iran while hostilities pick up in the Strait of Hormuz.
00:05This as U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll resigns after clashing repeatedly with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
00:13Joining us now from Washington is Rachel Schilke of Bloomberg Government.
00:16Not the first resignation either, Rachel.
00:18What kind of turmoil is happening in the military and how quickly can the administration get it under control
00:24given that it's involved in at least two wars now?
00:30Yeah, I think this came as a surprise to some people and maybe not a surprise to others
00:34given the kind of reporting that there's been about the clashes between Hegseth and some of his generals
00:39and other people within the Pentagon.
00:41And so this is going to be a really huge issue that people on Capitol Hill will have to contend
00:45with,
00:45especially as the war in Iran drags on.
00:47And there's still the question of inflation.
00:49There's still being a question of how the administration is going to respond.
00:51And if there's not somebody who's been confirmed by the Senate leading in the Pentagon,
00:56that's going to raise a lot of eyebrows for Republicans who are also toying with potentially
01:00giving more money to the administration for this war.
01:03So it's going to be in the next few weeks to see whether or not Republicans are going to
01:06respond to this resignation and if it's going to raise any concerns about how the president
01:11is handling the war.
