00:06to john harbaugh joe shane and staff get it right this year when it came to their 53 man roster
00:12going into week one of the season this is your blue rush roster breakdown so let's talk harbaugh's
00:1853 with our giants beat writer for the post paul schwartz paul it's that time of the year where i
00:24get that call in the hotel room to let me know to bring my playbook to go and talk to
00:29coach
00:29coughlin uh some of those some of the players had to obviously go talk to john harbaugh that they
00:35were released some found out that they are going to make this 53 man roster so i guess we'll start
00:42this thing off and ask you what were your first thoughts when you saw the original 53 what or who
00:50stood out to you i guess you know brandon we both were you know we're in west virginia um you
00:57know
00:57we've seen a lot of the training camp practices in new jersey the pre-season games and i think it
01:03was pretty orderly you know what i mean i mean the 53 was not a lot of unbelievable surprises you
01:09know
01:09we'll get into the some of the marginal surprises or some of the nuances of the initial 53 man roster
01:15we have to stress it's the initial 53 things will change in the next few days but i don't know
01:21about
01:21you i thought it was pretty orderly you know i mean did i get 53 out of 53 no but
01:26i got a lot of
01:27them right you know you could kind of tell the way things were going on the offensive line um you
01:33can
01:33wait things were going at cornerback um receiver was very much up in the air and that was interesting
01:39we'll talk about that so um you know i think john harbaugh gave us it was not a wild goose
01:44chase you
01:45know what i mean he he led us down a path where if you're paying attention and watch what you're
01:49seeing
01:50on the field trust what you're seeing and listen to what he said i think he led us to um
01:56the vast
01:56majority of these guys who were cut and the vast majority of the guys more importantly who were kept
02:01with the guys who were cut obviously the standout names jalen hyatt evan neal braxton barrios
02:07you've you heard anything about any of these guys potentially signing to the practice squad
02:13and uh filling out that practice squad roster yeah barrios you know that was like a handshake
02:19agreement you know we're going to cut you and we're going to bring you back to the practice squad
02:22that was already done as of um you know monday afternoon he's back on the practice squad with the
02:29agreement that he will be elevated to the roster before the first game i expect if the cowboys kick
02:35off barrios will be back there handling the kickoff return you know i mean i i think he's in their
02:40plans
02:41first punt i think he feels the first punt but you know for for maneuverings and you know
02:46non-guaranteed salaries things like that they didn't want to you know he he was he's a vested
02:51veteran he did not have to go through waivers so there was no chance that anyone could claim him
02:56so he knew exactly what was going on you're going to get cut we're going to sign to the practice
03:00squad
03:00you'll be back on the team you know for the start of the season so that's an easy one um
03:04look
03:05you know jalen hyatt and evan neal you know jalen hyatt never got any real run this summer you know
03:11i mean
03:11he was you know working third teams you know um did not show a whole lot you know it was
03:16inevitable
03:16he was going to get cut people say why did they cut him you know a few months ago well
03:20he's a young
03:21guy who can still run um so why not have him running around you need 15 receivers in camp anyway
03:26have jalen hyatt running around taking those reps and you know what there was some talent in there
03:32somewhere at some point maybe he'll show it really you know too many guys ahead of him so that was
03:37an
03:37easy one and evan neal did some good things evan neal if they kept 10 offensive linemen he had a
03:44shot to be the 10th guy he had a shot i don't know if he would have been but i
03:47think evan neal did
03:48enough to either warrant the spot on the giants practice squad even though i don't think that's
03:53direction that evan neal is going to go or on someone else's practice squad you know evan neal is
03:58not done playing football in the nfl um he had an uphill battle he was position change to guard but
04:05you know mostly third team a little bit of second team played a lot in the preseason which as we
04:10know is not an indication that you're going to make the team so um you know certainly not a victory
04:15for evan neal he didn't make the team but he's also going to be somewhere some place in the nfl
04:22and
04:22so uh a victory maybe small v i guess yeah you know when it comes to jalen hyatt and evan
04:28neal if i'm
04:28both of those if i'm one of those guys i go and i look for a fresh start somewhere else
04:34and i know
04:34that's what this new regime was supposed to be but you still have old eyes in terms of the fan
04:40base
04:41the media and not so much the narrative but how the reports and how people can feel about you it's
04:46like you always feel like you're in an uphill climb when it comes to trying to make this team or
04:52trying
04:53to uh get into the good graces again when it comes to the fan base and just the overall narrative
04:59about you both of those guys they they did i feel like they did enough to show that they belong
05:04in
05:04the nfl they could play in the nfl but if i was one of those guys i would go elsewhere
05:10to where it's
05:11like all right you know when i did my top 30 visits i had a lot of conversations and i
05:16had a visit with
05:17maybe the raiders or maybe the seahawks let me go show them because i learned so much from this regime
05:24let me go show them what i've learned and how i am a new player and uh and i could
05:29add some sort of
05:30value to to their team you see guys do it i think all the time yeah i think that's your
05:35wide receiver
05:36in you i don't know if jalen hyatt has proven he belongs in the nfl i mean he had a
05:40decent camp before
05:41he got hurt paul he was looking good and uh down in west virginia before but it was when we
05:46got back
05:47or when they got back to quest diagnostics and he got rolled up uh someone rolled on him and now
05:52he was
05:52out because of the ankle you still you slow that momentum down and then you had guys that like a
05:58dalen cambry who was making plays odell started to pick it up from there and it was like okay now
06:03it's
06:03way too crowded in this room it went from crowded to way too crowded and you became an afterthought so
06:10well look dalen cambry an undrafted guy who you know you look down on not spiritually but physically
06:17right he's not a big guy no no right yeah um he's gonna be back on the practice squad you
06:21know
06:21what i mean he'll be a practice squad guy he has some special teams value you know jalen hyatt
06:26really didn't have special teams value what i'm saying is jalen hyatt really wasn't a threat to
06:32make the roster you know he was not he was not going to make the roster he was classic camp
06:37fodder
06:38but because he's a third round draft pick our antenna are up on him you know what i mean um
06:43you know
06:44dalen cambry will be back barrios will be back hyatt will be elsewhere that's all all right uh two
06:49quarterbacks nine offensive linemen four running backs and a partridge and a pear tree which
06:56position group or position groups kind of surprised you in the terms of how many or how fewer
07:03how few players were kept in that room well i mean i thought there would be four running backs um
07:10you know look i had written that tyrone tracy had not really not at all wowed the coaching staff
07:17this new coaching staff and that his roster spot was certainly not guaranteed but they weren't going
07:24to go with only three running backs and and now on game day you go with three so i think
07:29the the
07:29interesting interesting thing is not that there are four running backs which they are cam scadaboo has
07:34been the starter all summer he was treated like a starter right didn't play in the last preseason game
07:40so he's rb1 who's rb2 i don't even know i would assume it's najay harris i really you know as
07:47long
07:47as he's back from the achilles he played you know he got like 11 carries in the preseason game he's
07:53made a nice recovery um i think he's running back to uh devin singletary just like a you know like
08:00an
08:00old watch right just keeps on ticking i thought maybe this regime wouldn't have a lot of use for him
08:04he resigned here um john harvard said you know what to expect from him all the time now that doesn't
08:10mean he's a great player that just means he's consistent and you know what to expect so that's
08:15how he made the team tracy made the team you know he had a couple of big gaffes in preseason
08:20games
08:21blown blitz cut a big blown blitz pickup and a fumble in back-to-back games he played better in
08:28the
08:28final preseason game um my interest is in september 13th who's who's in and who's out right now i think
08:37tyrone tracy could very likely be out meaning a healthy scratch um he does have some special teams
08:43value but is he running back three and is devin singletary running back four maybe but maybe not
08:51so the four guys in running back room i'm not surprised but you know in week two or three
08:58najay harris could be the starting running back i mean i just don't know that's not a knock on cam
09:02it's just you know this is a guy with four straight thousand yard seasons who was you know you know
09:08waylaid last year when he got hurt in week um three i guess so um it'll be very interesting that
09:14that's
09:14that's i think a very it's a position that's in some state of flux even though right now cam
09:21is the you know scadaboo is the number one starter well since you put it like that if they're only
09:25going to dress three i would have to give motor singletary the nod because he plays the core four
09:31special teams tyrone tracy i can't see him running down there on a kickoff i don't think they would
09:37put him on kickoff or on punt uh motor singletary does that and he adds some sort of a value
09:44or at
09:45least he's shown that he's still got a little left in the motor when it comes to making a play
09:49rather it be on a screen pass or or a hard you know four to six to eight yard run
09:55when you need
09:55them in there so i could if you had to dress three because yeah you make the 53 man roster
10:01but 42 was
10:0142 dress i have to go i would i would have to go with a guy who can play the
10:07core four and when you
10:08talk about a special teams coordinator and a chris horton who john harbaugh absolutely loves
10:14if chris horton loves motor singletary and feels as though hey coach i need this guy on my core four
10:21the motor singletary is going to be the guy that gets that that nod did it surprise you that they
10:27only kept two quarterbacks no no i mean there's no reason to keep three um they'll have one on the
10:34practice squad i assume i don't think they're afraid of either of those guys being claimed you know
10:39what i mean so no i mean there's only two on game day i don't think you need three um
10:44now yes if two
10:45guys get hurt there's no emergency quarterback that's a problem um that's a problem but you know
10:50you know i'm not you know there's too many um important roster spots you know there's no there's
10:55no quarterback prospect i mean jackson darts the quarterback prospect so there's no young guy
11:01they have to protect and i would say my most surprise guy who stayed would be brian hudson
11:10you know i thought they would keep nine offensive linemen i did not think they would keep 10
11:14because what have we said all summer brandon there's a lot more depth on the offensive line
11:20than there has been in years i mean there's two legitimate swing tackles right there's two that that
11:27i think you know jc davis the rookie looked really good you know he got a lot of run in
11:31the preseason
11:32games and uh marcus bow i mean these are guys that i think they would put on the field that
11:38right or
11:39left tackle now they don't want anything to happen to andrew thomas or jermaine luminor but i think that
11:43they would feel okay with those guys when have we heard that that they have two guys who could be
11:48a
11:48swing tackle and because there's versatility there i think you know aaron stinney was was clearly the
11:54backup guard that's why evan neal didn't make it that's why you know kubis didn't make you know he
11:59is the number one backup guard and it was between lucas patrick and brian hudson now lucas patrick has
12:04you know almost 120 nfl games um he's a veteran he's a bigger guy but he kind of balky knee
12:12you know
12:12he's got a little bit of that veteran knee missed some time brian hudson is 25 years old and when
12:18um
12:18when uh john michael schmitz had to miss this preseason opener right on having a concussion in practice
12:24hudson stepped in and was good he was solid so i think that opened a lot of eyes so he
12:29earned
12:30you know he was not he was number three all camp as far as backup center and he earned the
12:36number
12:36two job good for him undrafted guy you know was with the patriots a little bit um was with the
12:42giants practice squad didn't play much at all last year um you know he old-fashioned earned a job
12:48is there a position group that you i don't want to necessarily say question or may have a question
12:55mark around but you're worried about a little bit because there could be a lack of experience
13:03well um the corner cornerback has enough experience i'm a little worried about them
13:10safety has experience i don't think it's great you know i think we have to talk about wide receiver
13:14you know we we will can we can do a whole segment which we can uh you know right after
13:19i speak about
13:19the wide receivers on odell because odell is a great story i mean you know i think you know i
13:24would not
13:25have bet that he made the team and we know there's reasons why he made it but he you know
13:29kudos to him
13:29for making it but if i look at this wide receiver group now you know and you study this like
13:34as well as
13:34anybody right malik neighbors looked good right i mean all systems go the arrow went straight up with him
13:42all spring and summer they took him slowly but i think he's going to be on a pitch count i
13:48think
13:48he'll be active and probably start the first game but i think he'll be on a pitch count i pretty
13:53much
13:53know he will be and as good as he has looked i don't think we've seen him open it up
13:59100 percent
14:00and he hasn't taken a hit yet so i think you got to treat him with some kid gloves there
14:05who's the
14:06second wide receiver on this team is it malachi fields the rookie i thought he looked really good
14:12this summer but i am wary of receivers um who are rookies i've seen it too many times even good
14:19ones
14:19imani tumor steve smith um even good ones they take time to develop sometimes they never develop those
14:26both those guys develop very nicely but it took time their rookie seasons were very little production
14:32until right at the end so i'm not going to say fields is you know pencil them in for 30
14:3740 50
14:37catches i'm not going to do that darius slayton had a fight tooth and nail to make the roster
14:42and we'll see if there's any moves between now and opening day you know he did not really have an
14:47impressive camp coming back from sports hernia surgery he did not run the way darius slayton has run
14:53in the past the coaching staff noticed that um i wrote that he his his roster spot was not a
14:59lock it
15:00wasn't um they only kept five receivers berrios will be six when they bring him back um you know
15:06who else is there you know what i mean um i mean you know um darnell mooney slow start to
15:11camp i think
15:12you would agree came on strong at the end i think he's a strong guy look it's a real shame
15:17what happened
15:18to calvin austin the third i think he was i would say he was their best receiver from day one
15:25of camp
15:25to you know the end before he went down with the torn aco i'd agree yeah i he right we
15:31i remember
15:31talking about in west virginia and i said this guy he just makes plays all the time he i don't
15:37think
15:37berrios would have been on the team i think austin would have been you know one of the kick returners
15:41and i think um he would have been their their number one slot receiver he could play on the outside
15:47look it does there's no reason to talk about him he got hurt he's out for the year
15:50and that leads us to odell so what i'm saying is with that you know odell is not odell of
15:56eight
15:57years ago we know that um fields is a rookie neighbors is coming back from something maybe at some
16:04point he can look like what he was slayton struggled um mooney is okay he's fine is there
16:11anyone right now who you think the cowboys defensive coaches are looking at and saying
16:18how do we stop these guys how do we stop these guys now you say neighbors yes but probably not
16:23this version of neighbors i think they need to look at malachi fields and and start getting ready
16:28to respect this kid i know i don't want to throw too much at him too early but he just
16:33does things
16:34to where that nfl guys they're still trying to find uh the consistency of doing every single football
16:43that he catches is away from his body and if it's in the air he goes up and he goes
16:48and gets that
16:49now as a coordinator i may not have to sit there and worry about okay i gotta roll the safety
16:53over
16:53towards this guy right now but when i have him one-on-one or i've got my cb1 or my
17:00i mean my cb2
17:01or cb3 up against this 6-4 6-5 kid that plays above the rim i think he's gonna open
17:07some eyes and open
17:08some eyes early and you're not gonna have to put too much on him early because i still think there's
17:14something there with odell again i'll agree he's not the 23 year old with the with the blonde mohawk
17:20and all the cool dances and stuff but you can slowly see this guy starting to get his aura back
17:27his juice back to where he catches a short pass and he getting up doing the michael jackson to do
17:33the
17:33first down you can see he's starting to feel like himself and then when it comes to mooney i i
17:40i i can
17:41see why they brought him in to be one of those speed guys you could see that so although i
17:47don't look at
17:48this receiving core and i don't look at them like okay the bangles where they're like three four deep
17:53at receivers or the rams where they're like three four deep or even the lions i look at this as
17:59as a
17:59complementary group to what it is that they're trying to do and that's run the football and then
18:04you also have isaiah likely there as well this wasn't the position group that i actually put this
18:10the question mark around i was kind of leading up and alluding to how do you feel about the specialist
18:18because let's say every other position group does their job against the cowboys sunday night football
18:25the glow-in-the-dark wristbands at night it's a tie game they're driving jackson dart hits one of these
18:33receivers to put them in a deep field goal range for the tie or the win you've got a rookie
18:41long snapper
18:42and rookie kicker i mean you you only go you only know you only get baptized through the fire
18:50but how do you feel about the specialist situation being so young and inexperienced
18:56having to play the cowboys then go on the road to la and play the rams to start off to
19:01to start
19:01their nfl careers well before i answer that let me ask the only person on this podcast who actually
19:08can speak about this do you remember vividly your first nfl game your debut you know or when you had
19:15like a real debut yes um when where and what butterflies miami dolphins down in miami i'd been
19:24there because i got claimed off of waivers after i got released by the giants i'd been there for a
19:29week
19:29i was the four they dressed four receivers and i was mainly supposed to play special teams but a guy
19:35got hurt and i got thrown into the game at receiver and i was still picking up the playbook
19:41it i was the the butterflies were the work it was that first play at receiver kickoff was nothing i
19:48was that was you know i needed that to to get you know to shake off some of the anxiety
19:53but then in
19:54at receiver to where it's like okay i'm here with chad pennington and these guys were playing the jets
20:00trying to pick up all right here's where i'll line up here's where i go here's it it was it
20:04was a lot
20:05being not so much it was being thrown at me but just to go in unexpectedly like that and have
20:12to
20:12be able to run a two-minute drill and and pick and and get things right and do the conversions
20:18there is
20:18it was i don't want to say terrifying at all but you are kind of bright eyed and bushy tail
20:23when you
20:24get going to a game in that situation okay now now okay now it's different because these guys are not
20:31being thrown into it because they prepared for it all summer but this is this is not a sunday at
20:36one o'clock game right this is a sunday 8 15 game sunday night football under the lights with the
20:42cowboys it's going to be you know 20 something million people watching a game um now look dominic
20:48savada from day one he did not look like a rookie you know he actually was was not great early
20:54but then
20:55once he once he you know bang you know he he ben sauls was good you know i wouldn't be
21:00surprised if
21:01ben sauls now you know they waived him with an injury settlement i don't know what the deal with
21:05that is but ben sauls probably you know if he's healthy could be the jets kicker we'd be better than
21:10anyone they had in camp but but savada was was really good now really i mean completely like okay
21:17you know you're shaking your head okay 50 yard field goal you know they let him try a 69 yard
21:22or he
21:22just comes up short um you know the abdul carter's chirping in his ear makes the field goal so um
21:28he's
21:28cocky not cocky he's confident but he's you know look he told me he said look i played in the
21:34biggest
21:34football stadium in the world you know the the big house in michigan i'm used to you know i you
21:41know
21:41he made he made a field goal to beat ohio state that's you can't get bigger than college football
21:47right so so he's got a little bit of that in him so he completely earned it but and look
21:52and and
21:52in john harbour we trust right with special teams i mean of all things you know he's never been an
21:57offensive coordinator he's never been a defensive coordinator he's been a special teams coordinator
22:01so you know they went out and made jordan stout the highest paid punter in the league uh the other
22:07day he kicks an 80 81 yard punt and then a 58 yard punt i mean he'll be in the
22:12top two or three of
22:13punters in the league and you know the days of shanks and bad field position is over he looks great
22:19um but he can't snap it to himself right so they had ben man a rookie uh he spent his
22:27first three
22:28years at his school that neither of us could get into yale right could you get into yale you could
22:34not get into yale no i could not i could i could draw i could drive into the campus i'm
22:39sure but i
22:41could not if i went to the registrar's office you know years ago they would have said thank you
22:45you know take us you know drive back out of here you know your gpa doesn't get it three years
22:51at
22:51yale and four years at yale graduated with a degree in economics and then you know got his you know
22:56year
22:56at boston college to kind of make a name for himself i figured at some point they'd bring in a
23:01veteran
23:01long snapper but they never needed to john harbour said he's you know he's handled everything fine
23:05so going into that first game let's say jackson dart has a great drive take him down the field right
23:12great now you have it's six nothing great or they come up short now you're going to have a rookie
23:19snapper getting the ball to your punter fine and then a rookie kicker is going to make the extra point
23:25of the field goal we'll see that's a lot of rookie that's a lot of rookie there and and that's
23:31a lot of
23:31you know first time debuts for guys um you know i asked harbour you're going to have like that pit
23:37in
23:37your stomach he said no i trust them but he said i always have a pit in my stomach for
23:41those things so
23:42yeah i think everyone's going to be like they want it to be like it wasn't graham graham gano was
23:48in
23:48his prime right he runs out there and he's going to make virtually every kick that's what they want
23:52to see happen what's the position group you feel like got the biggest upgrade on this roster this year
23:59easy easy inside linebacker right at this time last year it was who bobby okarakee micah mcfadden and
24:07daris muircell right um you know okarakee was you know had seen better days mcfadden is a solid
24:15you know starter not a star he goes out in the first game of the season right with a uh
24:20lis frank
24:21and muircell was kind of a a tweener let's face it low draft pick he you know he's he doesn't
24:27fit the
24:27physical profile that john harbaugh wants for the inside linebackers now what happened bobby okarakee
24:32you know he was just on the street until a few days ago where the panthers signed him right so
24:37we'll
24:37see if he can kind of reestablish his career muircell was cut mcfadden is on the team he's back strong
24:45and guess what he's not the starter right he is a he's an incredibly quality backup depth who will play
24:52at times and be on every special team why because they just overhauled this this group tremendously
24:58um with the signing of tremaine edmonds the veteran who will have the green dot make the calls and
25:04obviously the fifth pick in the draft arvel reese um who just looked tremendous this summer just looked
25:10tremendous i can't wait to see him you know he didn't have a lot of opportunities to lay out guys
25:15in the preseason games he didn't play a lot of them um so edmonds and and arvel reese are two
25:20monsters in the middle um jack you know jack kelly i think is going to be a special teams guy
25:25um you know mcfadden is there um zayer barnes played a little bit last year mostly on special
25:31teams he made this initial roster to be on special teams so it's a you know you got you have
25:37three
25:37guys the two starters in in edmonds and arvel reese and you have micah mcfadden who you know john
25:43harborough says i consider us having three starters and that's just not lip service um really anticipating
25:49to see what that group can do it's a whole new room from last year for the most part and
25:54um
25:54could be the strength of the team yeah i was going i have to agree with you i was going
25:58to try and
25:58fight back a little bit and say maybe the tight end position just because of how great isaiah likely
26:04has looked theo johnson now they take a little bit of that pressure of having to be the te1
26:09for him and they allow him to be that second tight end for thomas fedoni the second i feel like
26:15everyone keep an eye on throughout the course of maybe towards the end of the season where he may
26:20get thrown into a little bit more game action he continues to get a little bit more comfortable
26:25when it comes to being a nfl tight end still feel like he needs to put a little bit more
26:29weight on
26:30bulk up a little bit for him to take try and take theo johnson's job since theo when if you
26:36go 12
26:36personnel with two tight ends on the on the field theo gives you kind of a weapon in terms of
26:41the past
26:42game even though he's primarily the run blocker tight end in that in that field but yeah just when
26:48you look at some of the interceptions or or some of the the errors that were that that the two
26:55tall
26:57linebackers forced jackson dart to have throughout the course of training camp uh trey uh edmunds with
27:04the huge pick where he just jumps up skies up and goes and gets it and then a couple where
27:08jackson had
27:09to throw it high across the middle because of how tall those guys are i mean you look at uh
27:15you you
27:15look at what matt stafford and dak prescott like to do they like to throw the football across the
27:20middle of the field so you're hoping two of those guys are going to be able to the kind of
27:25be brick
27:26walls when it comes to at least getting one uh interception forcing a turnover or causing a high
27:32throw uh paul let's wrap this thing up yes no and why is this 2026 53 man roster better than
27:42the
27:422025 53 man roster going into week one of the nfl season oh it's an emphatic yes oh yeah i
27:52mean the
27:52offensive line you know cc maui noah is going to be an upgrade at right guard jackson dart is going
27:58to
27:58be an upgrade from the rookie he was last year and don't forget last year was russell wilson starting
28:03so you know we're expecting big things from jackson dart um um you know camp scatterbu only got what
28:10eight games last year you know but we saw a little bit what he could do we talked about the
28:13inside
28:14linebackers the special teams the specialist the kickers i think will be better you know the kicking
28:19had some real follies last year the punter wasn't great um that's better um you know a little concerned
28:24about the the defensive backfield you know i don't think it's um it's great certainly but newsome i think
28:30could be a nice addition there um looking for more things from javon holland yeah it's it's a it's a
28:36better roster there's no question likely will be the better than any tight end they had last year
28:41as you mentioned so that's an upgrade and look malik neighbors played three games last year
28:46right um i don't expect them to beat malik neighbors from day one but
28:51he is a vital vital he needs to be a really good player he needs to be what he was
28:56as a rookie in
28:57time and then even better um you know every every team needs that kind of guy that just like
29:03holy smokes you see what he just did you know he just you know you can't cover him that kind
29:08of thing
29:08and if they can get that with him you know like i said jackson he and jackson dart played one
29:13quarter
29:13together yeah so let those guys cook a little bit together um yeah it's it's a it's a better coaching
29:19staff there's no question about it um the talent is better um look the the days of three and four
29:25wins as i've mentioned before are gone they're just gone this is not what this franchise in any
29:30is anymore i'm not saying 12 13 wins but you know this roster and this coaching staff has to win
29:36games
29:36um a bunch of them because it's it's good enough to do that you know i know it's not a
29:42position group
29:43but i think one of the biggest improvements we haven't talked about is the gm as well and i know
29:48joe shane is still the gm but i see a better joe shane i see a less stressed joe shane
29:57and there
29:57were reports where oh they're removing some of the responsibilities no they're not removing the
30:01responsibilities they're removing the riffraff that he had to deal with he no longer does he have to be
30:07on a headset on in the middle of a game because the head coach and the defense coordinator are beefing
30:14he doesn't he can now he and brendan brown and his staff can now be gms you know there's some
30:20sort of
30:20structure when it comes to that front office and them just everyone doing their job because now this
30:28is how a winning organization should and will run and operate from here on out because of the hardball
30:36effect so when i see joe it's all smiles now as opposed to like you know you're rubbing the
30:42temple or whatnot because you're dealing with something else outside of being a general manager
30:47of a football team and i think that's something that i think people keep an eye out on that as
30:52well
30:52throughout the course of of this year because um you know you don't give him an extension um for no
30:58reason if you don't feel like this dynamic uh can work all right we got more coming up for you
31:03guys throughout the course of this what week zero week zero before we head into week one and next
31:08week the giants getting ready to play dallas cowboys for some sunday night football next week
31:14obviously we'll go into a blue rush where we talk about the sea uh the game do a look ahead
31:18for the
31:19season and of course we talk week one cowboys giants for paul schwartz this is bernie london thanks
31:25for watching another episode of blue rush
31:28you
