00:02Coming up on 30 years since Tupac Shakur was gunned down in Las Vegas,
00:06there is now a conviction in his murder.
00:08A jury has found Dwayne Keefy D. Davis guilty of first-degree murder.
00:13Prosecutors never claimed 63-year-old Davis pulled the trigger.
00:17They said he orchestrated the attack, providing the gun,
00:20and helping set in motion the ambush that killed one of hip-hop's most influential artists.
00:26Jurors deliberated for less than three hours after a week's-long trial.
00:30Davis did not testify, and after the verdict, he told the judge he plans to appeal.
00:35He's said to be sentenced October 13th and could spend the rest of his life in prison.
00:40I feel like Keefy D. was his own worst enemy. I really do.
00:46I think he did it to himself.
00:50I think, in a way, I'm kind of glad he did it to himself,
00:56because if he's responsible for it, somebody just didn't get away with killing my friend.
01:02Shakur was riding with Death Row Records co-founder Marion Shug Knight
01:06when a Cadillac pulled up beside their BMW on the Las Vegas Strip on September 7th, 1996,
01:12and someone fired on them.
01:14Knight was wounded. Shakur died six days later.
01:17He was just 25.
01:19Prosecutors say the shooting was retaliation for a fight hours earlier,
01:23when Shakur, Knight, and others attacked Davis' nephew, Orlando Anderson, inside the MGM Grand.
01:30And much of the case against Davis came from Davis himself.
01:35Over the years, he talked about the shooting in a police interview, documentaries, and his own memoir.
01:40His defense argues those accounts were fiction, stories Davis told for money and attention.
01:46The jury didn't buy it.
