🚨✈️ Fuel spill incident grounds Air China 747-8 at JFK.
On August 31 at New York’s JFK Airport, an Air China Boeing 747-8, registration B-2486, was preparing to operate flight CA982 to Beijing when an incident reportedly occurred during refueling.
According to reports, the fuel truck drove away while the refueling hose was still connected to the aircraft, causing fuel to spill across the apron. Airport firefighters responded and the affected area was washed down.
The incident reportedly damaged the aircraft’s fuel port, resulting in a fuel leak and ultimately forcing the cancellation of the flight.
A striking reminder that even routine ground operations can quickly cause major disruptions. ⚠️
