The morning after the catastrophe, Abraham got up and sorrowfully looked toward the plain in Genesis 19:28, watching the smoke of Sodom and Gomorrah rising from the earth like the smoke of a great furnace. He had fervently interceded for that city seeking at least 10 righteous people, but there were none.
