00:00Two compelling stories as two of the greatest players in the history of the
00:05national football league conclude their careers.
00:09This year, you're going to see two guys going in polar opposites.
00:14It's going to be Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rogers.
00:17Look at what Matthew Stafford has done with his career and look where he is
00:22today.
00:23He started in pathetic Detroit where the organization had no rhyme or reason
00:29to want to ever think about winning and being a franchise that was going to
00:34contend for a Superbowl the way that they ran that franchise for all those
00:39years.
00:39He was Owen three in the playoffs.
00:41He had Megatron.
00:43He had great offensive players in Detroit and he couldn't get a win and he
00:48couldn't really get his career where people were saying he was one of the
00:52greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
00:54You look at another guy who started in Green Bay and Aaron Rogers taking over
01:00for the legendary Brett Favre and immediately Aaron Rogers took the baton and
01:06became one of the greatest passers in pro football history.
01:10His interception to touchdown ratio is second to none on the move.
01:16There's no quarterback in pro football history that will play the kind of game
01:20that Aaron Rogers played, the amount of winning that he had.
01:24What is even more incredible about that time in Green Bay for Aaron Rogers?
01:29How about this number, folks?
01:31In 40 years, there's only been three quarterbacks in that program's history over the last 40
01:39years that have taken 97% of the snaps.
01:42Aaron Rogers, Brett Favre, and now Jordan Love.
01:45And Rogers obviously was the guy who many people will say was the greatest of them
01:51all, especially when it comes to talent.
01:54Now look where his career is.
01:56He's been fledgling since he left Green Bay.
01:59First, that awesome experiment with the New York Jets that fell completely flat on its face.
02:06You went to an organization.
02:08How do you go from Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the Green Bay Packers to the Woody Johnson, New York Mets?
02:16That's a mess.
02:18The Jets are a mess.
02:20The New York Mets.
02:22They're not the Jets.
02:23That's the mess.
02:25And he goes there thinking that he was going to pull a Tom Brady,
02:29where Brady left the New England Patriots,
02:31and would go out and win himself a Super Bowl down in Tampa.
02:35Now he's back with a coach that he kind of ran out in Green Bay with Mike McCarthy in Pittsburgh.
02:42How will that end?
02:44Look at the ending for Aaron Rogers' career.
02:48He's kind of like, you know, he's odd as a man.
02:53It looks like he's getting his relationship back with his family again.
02:56But when you look at Aaron Rogers and how Aaron Rogers' career is ending,
03:01it's not ending the way that Matthew Stafford is ending.
03:04He goes to Los Angeles with Sean McVay.
03:07He ends up winning a Super Bowl.
03:10He ends up, do you know when he went to Los Angeles,
03:13he had a losing record as a starting quarterback.
03:16Now, you're talking about him being in the same conversation with the likes of the Dan Marinos
03:23and a pro football Hall of Famer.
03:25Look at his resume.
03:26Since he's landed in a good organization,
03:28the Rams with Stan Kroenke, Les Snead, Kevin Demhoff, the president, general manager,
03:36the head coach in Sean McVay.
03:37He's put an MVP career up.
03:40He's put an MVP season up.
03:42He's won a Super Bowl.
03:44Look at the two polar opposites and how they started and how they're ending here.
03:48Both quarterbacks had the opportunity to really, really show their great talents in this league.
03:56It's just the way it's starting and ending.
03:59Rogers started out with a bang.
04:02Couldn't defend him.
04:03Getting him out, as I said, in the perimeter.
04:06Winning all those football games.
04:07Putting up all those iconic numbers.
04:10He'll go down as the greatest spinner of the football, Aaron Rogers.
04:13The last couple of years, though, as we said, the Jets and now the Steelers.
04:20Aaron Rogers is, like, not going to end his career on a high note.
04:26Where Matthew Stafford is going to end, in my opinion, a first ballot Hall of Famer.
04:32You talk about saving your career by going to a place that believed in you
04:38and also gave you the opportunity.
04:41You can see this, again, in numerous reclamation projects we see in the NFL now.
04:46Look at Sam Darnall.
04:48Sam Darnall was in a horrible situation in New York with the Mets.
04:52With the Mets.
04:53I love calling the Jets the Mets.
04:56And it ran its course.
04:57They sent him down to Carolina.
04:59They sent him to San Francisco.
05:01He goes to Minnesota.
05:02And last year, that reclamation project wins himself a Super Bowl.
05:06These two quarterbacks are going to end their careers quite differently than how they both started.
05:13Rogers, again, going out with a whimper.
05:17And Matthew Stafford going out a winner.
05:22And winning another Super Bowl would put that cherry on top of that legendary, iconic resume
05:29that he has built since he's left Detroit and gone to the Los Angeles Rams.
05:34And he's going to win a win.
05:34And he's going to win a win.
05:34And he's going to win a win.
05:34And he's going to win a win.
05:34And he's going to win a win.
