00:00Athletes who are better off here.
00:01Number one on the list, and I think this would be hard for any single other guy to match on
00:06this tier,
00:07is David Ortiz.
00:08Released by the Minnesota Twins, ended up in Boston, was a part-time player at first.
00:13Once he got his chance, turned into one of the great clutch hitters,
00:16maybe the greatest clutch hitter in the history of the sport.
00:18Had a different name.
00:20Yeah, right.
00:21Oh, right.
00:21He was David Arias with the Twins.
00:22Very good, Murray.
00:23Never a better fit for a player in a city in a ballpark than David Ortiz.
00:28Pedro Martinez was another one toiling with the Expos.
00:31Everybody knew how good he was, but nobody knew about the magnitude of Pedro that happened here.
00:38Cam Neely was kind of an underachiever with the Vancouver Canucks.
00:43You know, bruising right wing, got in a lot of fights, had no discipline.
00:46They brought him here.
00:47They got the best out of him.
00:48He was in the right market.
00:49It was the right fit.
00:51Rodney Harrison, another one I would put on this list.
00:54I had a reputation of being a dirty player with the Chargers.
00:57Never won anything out there and had still some of that dirty reputation here,
01:02but was one of the great clutch, tough, winning performers in football history, really,
01:08especially in his position.
01:09And I put Dennis Johnson on this list, too.
01:12A guy who was considered a malcontent when he was in the NBA.
01:15Had won a series with the Seattle Supersonics.
01:19Then went to Phoenix.
01:21Was considered trouble.
01:22And the Suns really were looking to dump him.
01:25And the Celtics took him.
01:27They brought him in to guard Dennis Johnson.
01:29They put him on a good team.
01:31And he ended up in the Hall of Fame and resurrected his reputation in his career.
01:35Johnson's no longer with us, but I can tell you, as a guy who had a reputation of a malcontent,
01:41tremendous, tremendous teammate, you know, overall spokesman for the team.
01:46I overlapped with him just for a little while, and I loved him to death.
01:50It was tremendous.
01:51What do you mean, overlapped with him?
01:52I covered him a little bit at the end.
