00:00The 2026 Republic Bank CPL is proving to be a nightmare for TKR fans.
00:05The Knight Riders lost four out of five home games, with the last one coming against Antigua
00:11and Barbuda Falcons by eight runs on Wednesday night.
00:14Despite having a small chance of making the playoffs, Captain Nicholas Puran spoke as
00:19though it was already over.
00:20It wasn't meant to be this year.
00:22We were by far very poor in this competition.
00:26That's something we have to accept from a seam bowling department.
00:29Our seam spinners are not being able to get wickets for us.
00:33We can take care of business here in the Oval, especially with conditions where wet outfield
00:38didn't play a part for us and all these factors played a part, but in all, no excuses, we wasn't
00:44good enough this year.
00:44But he was reminded that the Knight Riders had a mathematical chance of defending their
00:48title.
00:49And with that, he said his team was going to fight till the end.
00:53For me personally, it's all about the opportunity to play this game.
00:56And continue to get better as players, continue to learn from the experience, continue to
01:01get mentally stronger as well, especially when things are not going your way.
01:05There's a lot of positives we can gain from the last couple of games.
01:07We have a lot to play for as well.
01:09Mathematically, there's still a chance and hopefully once you can get better as a team
01:13and get a couple of results, you never know in this game, but the fans have been special
01:17once more again here in the Queen's Dark Oval.
01:19Happy to see cricket back here in the Oval.
01:21Seeing the red, black and white in the stands, that's something that's truly amazing.
01:26They're definitely our 12-man.
01:28Again, they're very disappointed that we let them down.
01:31Opposite number, Moyn Ali was delighted that the Falcons came out on top.
01:34He said it took a solid effort from the players to extend their lead to 11 points.
01:40I think the character we showed throughout the game, actually, from the start, I thought
01:44Rakeem started unbelievably well, obviously, and then just without batting, Nawaz is struggling
01:49a bit with form, but he was amazing tonight, a great knock. Just the character, even in the
01:54field, it was tough conditions in the end with a bit of dew, but we stuck in there. It looked
01:59like
01:59the game was going away from us when Pali was in, but we still believed that we could win the
02:03game.
02:03The Falcons want more success in their final match against Guyana Amazon Warriors.
02:08Having lost to them before, Ali respects his opponents.
02:12Yeah, I guess Guyana, very, very good side. That's the one team that, you know, they beat us badly,
02:15and we want to try and come in the top two now and then have one game to the final.
02:21So that's
02:22our dream and the aim. So we want to keep winning, want to keep playing well and performing and get
02:27the guys going well. I thought Springer again and Joshua outstanding again at the death.
02:31The Falcons play the Amazon Warriors on September 8th,
02:34whereas the Knight Riders next play Barbados Tridents on Saturday.
02:39Vinod, now only to export.
