00:00When we hit that hallway, that's the first time I said, Will, what did you get yourself into?
00:06As I'm looking into the lobby, there are people who are dead, there are people running,
00:10and then all of a sudden we hear a humongous boom, and I look back from where we came,
00:15and I'm looking back again into the lobby of two, and I see a fireball, I mean the size of
00:20my house.
00:24The only way I can describe it is like a million freight trains just coming down on you.
00:29The roar of the devil just coming down on you, and at that point I just kind of covered up
00:33and
00:33held on for dear life, and all of a sudden it was silence, and I opened my eyes and it
00:39was pitch dark.
00:42There was a hole above us about 30 feet up, and light started you know filtering in,
00:47and all I could see was gray. Dominic was buried next to me to my left, right by my hip
00:53area,
00:53and Sergeant McLaughlin in the initial collapse was actually trapped in a fetal position.
00:57He was just trapped, and he then said, sound off. So I said, Jimeno, and Dominic said,
01:04Pizzullo, and then I didn't hear the guys.
01:10That's when we realized we lost two fellow officers, you know, two fathers, two sons,
01:14two great Americans, and that was hard, and that's when I started feeling the pain.
01:18I think my shock was wearing off.
01:22Sergeant McLaughlin said, what is everybody's condition? And I said, I can't move. I'm buried.
01:28I'm literally being crushed. Dominic said, I'm okay, but I'm stuck. He was able to wiggle his way
01:35through to this small area to our right-hand side, and he was looking up, and he said, Sarge,
01:41I can go up and get help, and Sergeant McLaughlin said, no, get Jimeno out, and you and Jimeno get
01:46me
01:46out, because if you go out there, you'll never find us again. It's a debris field. And that's when we
01:52heard another humongous boom. And everything starts coming through again. At this point now,
01:59I can hear Sergeant McLaughlin yelling because now he is being crushed. I'm being more crushed
02:07because there's more concrete and everything hitting me. I did this, which in sign language means I love
02:12you, and I crossed my arms because I figured that's the way I was going to die. And if they
02:17found me,
02:18they would tell Allison that I was saying, I love you, because that's what I would do to Allison
02:22and my little girl, Bianca, is always say, I love you.
