00:00Detroit is cleaning up the damage from strong storms last night.
00:04Storms rolled through Michigan, downing trees and power lines, causing thousands of power outages out there.

00:10Yeah, and you know what? Had their first confirmed tornado in Detroit in decades.
00:14Wow, in the city.
00:16Still awaiting the full storm survey from the National Weather Service.
00:19But the mayor did say today during a press conference that the National Weather Service confirmed that it was, in
00:24fact, a tornado.
00:26So we'll keep you updated with that as we get more information.
00:29But we're moving away from the severe weather, kind of.
00:33Now, here's the thing.
00:34We still have rain and thunderstorms and into the Northern Plains Saturday.
00:37This is where we can still have some stronger storms.
00:40Damaging wind, flash flooding, the biggest concerns.
00:43And we still have the heat in places like St. Louis and Kansas City.
00:46But, hey, look at the difference in Chicago.
00:48Feels like 87, not that far off from your forecasted high.
00:51Cincinnati in the 90s, only 6 degrees warmer than your forecasted high.
00:54And Cleveland, I think you win.
00:56And for Saturday, the place to be feels like 82.
01:00I wouldn't be complaining, that's for sure.

01:02You had some storms roll through yesterday, too.
01:05Here's that area of severe weather that I was talking about.
01:07So southern North Dakota, all of South Dakota, into western portions of Minnesota and Iowa, and then down through portions
01:13of Nebraska here.
01:14Damaging wind up to 80 miles an hour and flash flooding, again, the main threats.
01:18Let's take a look at future radar, give you an idea of how all of this plays out.
01:22We're going to have some downpours.
01:23And the thunderstorms, they do go beyond just that area of severe weather.
01:26So keep your AccuRather app handy, your umbrella, your rain jacket handy.
01:30You'll want them, especially if you have the outdoor plans.

01:41As we go through the rest of our Saturday, mainly further south, as we're going to see those afternoon and
01:45evening storms, but a few pop up in places like Iowa.
01:48Some more downpours as we head into Sunday.
01:51And then Sunday evening, yeah, this is going to get a little messy here with this string or this line
01:57of downpours here.
01:58And pretty widespread into northern and central Minnesota as well.
02:02Then it kind of fizzles out as we head into the early hours of Monday morning.
02:05So Sunday overnight into Monday.
02:07And unfortunately, the heat, it is not gone quite yet.
