00:00Now, that is not the case with Clemson and LSU, but if you haven't noticed over the last
00:06couple of weeks, LSU and namely Lane Kiffin have become the antithesis of everything college
00:12football. Either they're getting sued, they're getting threatened, they're, how dare you?
00:18Now, before we dive into this, Tom, let me ask you a question here, because this is an
00:22interesting poll question. Should a player who was neither drafted, made a team, cleared
00:33waivers without anybody signing them, should those kinds of players who don't get drafted,
00:40don't sign, aren't on a 53-man roster, nobody picks them up, how do we consider them ex-NFL
00:49players? Should they be considered ex-NFL players?
00:54It's the question of the day, question of the hour, question of the year. People are trying
00:59to decide for the next however long. I think I'm okay with them going back to college, as
01:06long as they're UDFA, as long as they are not drafting. Listen, if you draft a guy and
01:12he's not good enough to make a team, I still don't think he should go back. If he gets drafted,
01:17he can't make the team, he clears waivers, still don't want to pick him up, he should
01:21be going to a practice squad, he should not be going back to college. If he's undrafted,
01:24I think that's fine for him to go back to college. What we have to deal with here is,
01:28are those players going to be active? Are those even players like massive impact players?
01:33Like, do they really swing the pendulum in one way or another, say like, oh, you have
01:37like two or three or four ex-NFL players that played on an NFL training camp? Like, we
01:44need to come up with another word for them, because they're not ex-NFL players.
01:47But they're also not college players anymore. They're like some mid-thing that we didn't
01:51come up with another word for, really.
01:54Rejects is good. I don't have a problem with NFL rejects, because that's what they are.
01:59You know, and we're not talking about like, you know, Daniels coming back, you know, after
02:06getting drafted. We're not talking about Leonard Fournette, right? Deciding like, all right,
02:11let me go. And now I'm going to come back to L. Like, no, we're talking about players
02:17that don't make any impact in the scope of thing. You know how I know they don't make
02:22an impact, Tom? The line's not moving. The win total isn't going up. The line is, if
02:27anything, the line is moving towards LSU here. It is not a situation in which these players
02:35are going to have such an impact on a team that you are ruining, you know what I mean,
02:41the integrity of the game. No, we're not. Most of their backup play. LSU has two All-American
02:48tight ends already on the team. The quad right is not going to put LSU over the top to win
02:53a championship. So, and by the way, this whole rule only applies to players that were part
03:01of that 2022 class. You know why, Tom? Because prior to that, the NCAA stepped in and gave everyone
03:09this extra year of eligibility. Everybody. Right. And then all of a sudden, the incoming
03:14class of 2022, you know what the NCAA says? We're going to move the goalpost. No, I'm sorry.
03:19You can't. No, I'm sorry. The game has changed now. All these kids are doing are going, listen,
03:24everybody else got a fifth year. We should be able to get a fifth year. End of story. This is
03:31not
03:31a problem next year because it doesn't apply to guys looking to get a fifth year because they were
03:37in school during that whole COVID era. The NCAA made this problem to begin with, and now they're
03:44blaming Lane Kiffin and LSU as if it is their fault that you moved to goalposts over the last four
03:52years
03:52where this class of 2022, Tom, got stuck in the middle and they're going, it's NIL. I can go make
04:00a
04:00half a million dollars by going back. Like what? Can you blame them? Because I certainly can't.
04:06I can't. And you know, to your point, this is a part of me wants to say like, this is
04:11much ado
04:12about nothing because if you really thought that a lot of these players were massive impact players
04:18for LSU, LSU wouldn't be plus 850, Joe, to win the SEC, right? George is plus 260, at least what
04:26I'm
04:26looking at on DK. George is plus 260. Texas is plus 320. LSU is plus 850. If these were massive,
04:33game-changing type of players, we could make a boatload on LSU at plus 850 to win the SEC,
04:40and we'd be backing up the Brinks trucks when it's all said and done come the end of December
04:44because that's not the case. Yep. It's not. And Lane Kiffin, bless his heart,
04:50he is playing right into this and he is playing that. You want me to be the villain? I'll be
04:56the
04:56villain. All I'm doing is following what the judge is allowing me because you know what, Lane? If you
05:02don't do it, another coach will. I promise you on that.
