00:00Another alarming case of alleged political violence, federal agents busting a prominent
00:04LGBT podcaster accused of repeatedly threatening to kill the president.
00:10Prosecutors say Benjamin Azariah Southworth posted videos calling for the president's
00:14assassination and also targeted Trump's personal lawyer and his family. Court papers reportedly
00:19stating in one of the threats, Southworth posted a video on his Instagram account saying, quote,
00:24I have been vocal in calling for the execution of Donald Trump. This government is illegitimate
00:29and out of control. It's time for course correction. Killed Donald Trump. End quote.
00:34Now, Southworth is facing three federal charges. Barry Donatio is a national security analyst and
00:39John Kapinski is retired detective sergeant with the Danbury Connecticut Police Department. Good
00:44to have you, gentlemen. So, Barry, this is pretty explicit. This is not just like 86, 47. We saw
00:50with James Comey laying out the shelves. He's explicitly saying he wants to kill Donald Trump.
00:54And this is a pretty well-regarded, well-known podcaster out there. How serious are these
01:00claims and what's going to happen next? Great to be with you, ladies. Thank you for having
01:04me on. And this is serious. Title 18 of the U.S. Code Section 871 is very clear. You can't
01:14threaten the
01:14life of the president of the United States without consequence. This charge alone carries up to five
01:21years in prison. And even talking at a bar and saying, hey, I want to kill the president. And if
01:28that's overheard and somebody contacts the Secret Service, you may get a visit and an interview to
01:33find out what your intentions are. And if they conclude, if these agents that come and visit you
01:38conclude during an interview that you have the means to do it and the ability, you may be charged.
01:44And sometimes you may not be if you were just drunk and just speaking out loud. But it's a very
01:49serious case for this person because he's on video inciting other people to do it as well.
01:54Yeah. John, the reports say that the court documents reveal this. They say that Southworth
01:58also ranted about killing the president in private conversations. The prosecutor's alleged he said
02:04this to someone in January in a text message exchange. And this is what it said. If I encounter
02:09any Trump official in person, I'm seriously afraid I will end up in jail. But if I could kill him,
02:15I wouldn't waste the opportunity. I want to funnel this rage into street art. That's my plan. But God,
02:21I want that mother and his minions dead. So, John, this again, it seems very obvious on just the face
02:29of
02:29it that this is a person who seriously believes this. There's no question about it. But the more
02:35serious part of this whole case is it's not just him saying, I want the president dead. You've seen
02:42a lot of celebrities make comments like that. They're not taken too seriously. But what he did on
02:47his podcast with all of his followers, he asked anyone out there to also do this. And there's a lot
02:53of
02:54crazy people out there. Remember, President Trump has already faced three attempted assassinations
03:00with shootings. So by him putting it out there to all the crazies and saying, somebody out there
03:06has got to do something. That's why this one's a little more serious than the drunk guy at the bar
03:11or even the statements he's previously made. When you put those two together, he's facing some serious
03:17time. The three felonies that he was charged with are punishable by up to 12 years in jail. And I
