00:00There are a few ACC teams with big games on the schedule.
00:06None bigger, though, than Clemson, who go to Baton Rouge to play LSU.
00:10A little home-and-home here.
00:11Last year, LSU on the road pulled off the upset.
00:14And let's be real, sent the Clemson Tigers into a tailspin.
00:18They were a very popular national championship pick.
00:21I try and erase it from my memory that I was a part of that group, but I was.
00:25And that bet was done two weeks into the season.
00:27If I'm lucky, certainly by the third week of the season.
00:31And that's why this game here tonight is so fascinating,
00:35because LSU right now are the story in college football.
00:38The NFL players, they're not going to let them play.
00:41But Clemson are, of course, a story.
00:43And Dabo is, of course, a story.
00:45Is it over for Clemson?
00:47Or can this team who, you know, in this run, right,
00:51Miami obviously have appeared in a national title game
00:53and are much, much, much better than Clemson.
00:55Clemson have more recently won the title.
00:57It was two years ago.
00:59That was the Cam Ward season.
01:00But again, Chris, the ball allowed that to get in the way.
01:02So there's a lot to sink your teeth into on the Clemson side of this story.
01:06But of course, LSU, Dave, leading a lot of the conversations in this sport right now.
01:12Yeah, we'd start with Clemson.
01:14Clemson's one of those teams that you really don't know.
01:17You were not alone last year thinking Clemson was a national title contender.
01:21And people forget the loss to LSU was only, you know, was a seven-point loss.
01:25They didn't get blown out.
01:26But it was what happened after that, losing to Georgia Tech and losing to Syracuse,
01:31that sent them on a tailspin that only got course corrected with a winning streak at the end of the
01:36season.
01:36They won their last four games to even get to a bowl.
01:39At the same time, you would think that this Clemson team has talent that can, I mean, again,
01:44they've won the ACC.
01:46They've won national titles recently.
01:48Dabo finally figured out that there's a transfer porter out there.
01:51I know it took them half a decade, but he finally found out that you can use the transfer portal
01:55like Miami
01:56and like Louisville and like everybody else is, or you're going to fall behind.
01:59As for LSU, I mean, it didn't take long for the lane train to get himself in trouble
02:05and be the center of college football again, like he does everywhere he goes,
02:10from Alabama to Tennessee to FAU to Ole Miss and now LSU.
02:15And we could spend two complete hours talking about what a disaster the legal system
02:20and this whole thing about the professional athletes going back and playing.
02:23I know that's not what we're here for today, but that's a lot of controversy going there.
02:28And I said it yesterday on Twitter X.
02:30I didn't think LSU had the chutzpah to go out there and put these players on the field,
02:34even though they won the court case and they can hide behind the players aren't ready.
02:39Well, there were an NFL training camp two weeks ago, so I think that's ready for a Clemson team.
02:44They seem ready to me.
02:45We will see what actually happens.
02:47The fact that we even have to bring up the courts is just a sad state of where college football
02:52is.
02:53Does that distract them from on-field product?
02:56Maybe, maybe not.
02:57At the end of the day, LSU is the more talented team.
03:00You just wonder, and we'll get into it later,
03:02you just wonder if Lane can get all the pieces together at one time to go beat a good Clemson
03:07team.
03:08They're not open up against South Florida.
03:10They're open up against Clemson.
03:11So we'll see if all the new pieces, he's bringing in 25 new players, quarterback, running back, defense,
03:18if they can get it together for a big game against a really good Clemson team.
