00:00Well a really important pledge I think made at this Reform UK conference because of course we're
00:05going to see the establishment I suspect try and resist a Reform UK government and what people are
00:11sick and tired of I think in this country was the sort of Tory disease in government of making all
00:16sorts of excuses about why things couldn't happen or people blocking them and so on and I think
00:23people are sick and tired of that they want a government that just gets on with it and acts
00:28no ifs no buts which is why I think Nigel Farage's warning really to the House of Lords was so
00:38important yesterday at the Reform conference because Reform clearly need to put in specific
00:44pledges in the manifesto when it comes to legislation that a Reform government would put in place to
00:51ensure that the establishment can't wriggle out of actually respecting the will of the people and
00:57when it comes to the House of Lords you can see here this really is you know something out of
01:02communist China as far as I'm concerned this unelected Lords and public support very little of
01:08it for an appointed House of Lords cross-party support for instance there for unelected Lords now
01:17and very negative opinions towards the House of Lords which is what makes Nigel Farage's
01:23pledge into dealing with the Lords if there is a Reform government I think so pivotal to the Reform

02:18in our offering document to the British people and I expect the House of Lords to honour that
02:25as they've done with the Salisbury Convention for over a century. But if they don't, well,
02:35we'll present them with an idea. It's not a new one, it's been used before. We'll appoint hundreds
02:42of new peers so that we have a majority in the House of Lords.
02:53And if that proves difficult, if that proves difficult, we'll hold a referendum on the current
02:59composition of the House of Lords and they would be swept away by a British public appalled by them.
