A mother says she planned to be away for a week but remained gone for at least three weeks leaving someone else to care for her three children. Judge Judy is particularly troubled by evidence that one of the children was not attending an appropriate school during that time.
Judge Judy tells the mother that educational neglect is still neglect and criticizes her for putting a new boyfriend her birthday and her own priorities ahead of her children. She makes it clear the situation was serious enough that she would have contacted Child Protective Services herself.
