00:01Nolan start by start in his rookie
00:03year has established himself as
00:05the unquestioned Mets ace the way
00:07he's been pitching lately four
00:09straight starts six more innings
00:11one earned run or less hit on the
00:13ground the second to his left
00:14Simeon up with it throws the
00:16first in time Gilbert is out one
00:18man away so McLean who has walked
00:20the seventh most hitters in the
00:24National League allows a one out
00:25walk to Rafael Devers one two
00:27pitch in there strike three
00:31call fastball at the top of the
00:32zone and for Nolan McLean that is
00:36his first strikeout he is seventh
00:38in the league in punch outs there's
00:40a breaking ball chopped up the
00:41middle charged by Simeon the second
00:43baseman and he flips behind him to
00:45Lindor on the back for the force
00:47play that retires the side fourth
00:49career big league start for Matt
00:51Tugboat Wilkinson took a shutout
00:54into the seventh last time out
00:55against the D backs will face
00:57Francisco Lindor here to begin the
00:59bottom of the first Francisco lines
01:01it to left a base hit it was a
01:03breaking ball it was up a bit and
01:05Lindor on an 0 2 pitch singles to
01:07left and the Mets immediately come
01:09up with their first hit of the
01:10game or 3 1 Lindor runs pitch
01:13take it outside and high ball for
01:15and the Mets have runners at first
01:17and second one out and the clean up
01:19hitter Mark Vientos will be the
01:22batter and Vientos flies one deep
01:24to right field right down the line
01:26toward the stands it's out of here
01:28Mark Vientos goes the other way for a
01:31first inning three run homer Mark
01:33Vientos in his first plate
01:35appearance back at Citi Field since
01:37returning from the minor leagues
01:39Vientos hits a three run homer his
01:42thirteenth of the year the Mets are
01:44leading by a score of three to
01:46nothing second inning Nolan
01:47McLean state to a three nothing
01:49lead on a Mark Vientos opposite
01:51field homerun the 0 1 on the way
01:53swing and a bouncing ball wide of
01:55first second baseman semi into his
01:57left has it and throws to first
01:59in time to Morrell and he takes
02:02just inside a challenge by Alvarez
02:04strike like a strike from here he
02:08called it too quick it's that
02:09indoor two seamer comes back so
02:14that's strike three the second
02:16strikeout from the plane breaking
02:18ball lined in the air to left
02:19right at Soto makes the one and
02:21catch and that retires the side
02:23nothing across middle of the
02:25second Mets three Giants nothing
02:27courts are entertainment and you
02:28got to compete for the eyeballs
02:30and never is that more evident than
02:31this time here in Flushing with
02:33the U.S. Open and the Mets and I
02:36went over to the entrance to the
02:37U.S. Open about an hour and a
02:38half before first pitch today and
02:40I found Nick and Chris and I
02:43pitched them hey ditch the U.S.
02:45Open tickets and come to city
02:47field will make it worth your
02:48while now you see there are two
02:49lovely females with them the wife
02:52of one the fiancee of another and
02:54they they left them they left
02:56them at the open in order to come
02:58to this game we also brought them
03:00to meet Gary Keith and Ron Steve
03:02I think you're going to have to
03:03ask them if their phones blowing
03:05up with their their gals are
03:08calling them so where are you
03:12driven to deep right center by
03:14Alvarez headed back through the
03:15wall and it's out of here a home
03:18run into the bullpen and right
03:19center field and so Alvarez with
03:22an opposite field home run just
03:24as the end those hit one earlier
03:2514th of the year for Alvarez the
03:28Mets now lead four to nothing
03:29and then Chris like it here's the
03:32payoff pitch tomorrow Peter high
03:34ball for this kid can run now as
03:37he's aboard with the second walk
03:39allowed by Wilkinson and a block
03:42has been charged to Wilkinson so
03:46Morabito now moves to second
03:48after the walk now he's in second
03:49round ball to short and it takes
03:51a bad hop and pops in the air
03:53grabbed by Carson now the belated
03:56throw to first is too late well
03:58cost waited for that one and got a
04:01bad hop so an error on cause he
04:06did not ever charge the ball at
04:08all and now they owe to bounce
04:10slowly towards first backhanded by
04:12Devers throws to second one
04:14returned to first Wilkinson
04:15covers not in time Soto beats it
04:18out scoring from third is Morabito
04:20and the Mets now have a five to
04:22nothing lead so on the fielder's
04:24choice Soto picks up his 56th
04:27run batted into the year
04:28and Wilkinson was a little bit
04:30late getting over it's actually a
04:31really nice play by Devers who's
04:32had his troubles at first so the
04:34runs on the first pitch and
04:36Kavanaugh can't make the transfer
04:38cleanly and Soto's got his eighth
04:40stolen base of the year now the
04:42runner in scoring position the Mets
04:43have scored two more runs here in
04:47the second driven deep to left
04:49center field he'll go and back it's
04:51over his hand and it's out of here
04:53for the ship with a laser beam of
04:56a two run homer and the Mets have
04:58brought the doors off this game
05:00it's now seven to nothing in the
05:02second inning for Bichette is 15th
05:04homer of the year and this kid
05:06Wilkinson is simply overmatched oh
05:08there are Nick and Chris enjoying
05:10their night at the ballpark oh I
05:11have a feeling they're going to get
05:12it when they go back over Nick and
05:14Chris boys we appreciate you
05:17joining us here during this game
05:18we just wanted to get an update so
05:19now you know you're a few innings
05:21in any regrets on the decision that
05:23you made zero zero zero because at
05:27one point in our conversation you
05:29said to me hey can we take it off
05:31line here and actually discuss it
05:33with the girls so what I know what
05:36did it for you what did it for them
05:38where they said go ahead honestly
05:41I think they just saw it in our
05:42eyes how much it meant yeah they're
05:44not they just they love us that
05:47much that they're okay with it have
05:49you heard from them at all over
05:51the course of the night we have
05:52yeah they're enjoying honey deuces
05:54they're having a ball over there so
05:56I'm not I'm not worried about it
05:57Nate Furman leads off playing
06:00second base these days the Giants
06:03second base curveball for strike
06:05three and that curve has become a
06:07devastating weapon that was a
06:08strikeout for McClain big league
06:10backdoor hook right there and that
06:14just missed the ball for second walk
06:16given up by McClain it's a seven
06:18nothing met lead top three it's a
06:20one out free pass and Drew
06:21Gilbert is coming up Gilbert lines
06:23it over the head of Simeon at
06:25second out into right center for a
06:27hit Moribito over from center will
06:29cut it off rounding second cause on
06:32his way to third he'll make it in
06:34easily the throw comes into second
06:36base Gilbert will stay put at first
06:39McClain got the first laugh in the
06:41first inning but now two are on for
06:43Rafael Devers and if anybody's gonna
06:46make anything hurt these days for the
06:48Giants with some pop it's Devers
06:50here's a line drive right center off
06:52the bat of Devers that'll get down and
06:55it one hops the wall cost is scored
06:57here comes Gilbert around third
07:00heading home the relay is too late
07:02Gilbert is in standing for Devers a
07:06two run double and the Giants have
07:09answered here in the third now a seven to
07:12two ballgame three two coming inside
07:15ball four second walk of the inning
07:17third of the night for McClain one two
07:20hit hard to second Simeon to his right
07:21has it on the backhand flips to second
07:23in time for the out so they get Hill
07:26trying to go first to second and that
07:29ends the ending with the Giants get
07:30on the scoreboard two runs on two
07:33hits it's the first time tonight the
07:35Giants have a lead off base runner
07:38has three hits against McClain round
07:41ball off the glove of McClain deflects
07:44to Lindor who has no play well McClain
07:46leaves that ball alone it's an easy
07:48double play but he didn't know that and
07:51the sub they winds up with the base
07:52in one out chop left side Bichette has
07:55it throw to second one semi to first
07:57not in time cost legs it out so it's
08:00first and third as Cavanaugh gets to
08:02third base so they're on at the
08:03corners now with two down it's back to
08:06the top of the lineup and drew
08:07Gilbert him to one Gilbert walls one
08:10to center sending Morabito back he
08:12makes the catch to end the inning Giants
08:16flirt with a couple of base runners but
08:17strand first and third and do not score
08:19middle of four seven to two meant
08:21lead over San Francisco no McClain
08:24back to the mound for the fifth
08:25inning with a five run lead off
08:26field Devers drove in the two San
08:28Francisco runs with the double to
08:30the gap and right center in the
08:31third down on a field line that's
08:33in there for a base hit it will
08:35quickly scoot to the wall in the
08:36corner Devers around first heading
08:38for second the cam is played by
08:40Soto and he'll throw in to third
08:42base a stand up double for Devers
08:45and the Mets despite being up five
08:47runs have seen Nolan McClain start
08:51to look a little shaky over the
08:53last few innings it's ball for two
08:56on nobody out that's tied in the
08:59right field the base hit for Hill
09:01Devers got a late start he'll go to
09:03third and stop there and the Giants
09:05of the base is loaded and nobody
09:06out Giants scored two in the third
09:08and now you're in the fifth and the
09:09base is loaded nobody out against
09:11it's Nolan McClain and he tied him
09:13up it's in for a call third strike
09:16it's a big first out for McClain
09:18his sixth strike out of the night
09:21top of the strike zone here swing
09:23and a bouncing ball towards second
09:25backhanded by a sliding semi and
09:26flips to Lindor one on the first
09:28double play four six three and
09:31Nolan McClain works out of a bases
09:34loaded no out jam to keep the Giants
09:36off the board in the fifth now we go
09:39to the sixth inning Nolan McClain will
09:40start the inning face at least one
09:42better and that's the slave is
09:44the zombie all the second waiting
09:46on it semi and he's got it and
09:48throws the first in time one man
09:50away at the center field or Vito
09:53gives some ground and puts it away
09:55to out he's trying to muscle
09:58through this sixth inning let's
10:01see if he gets the opportunity to
10:02finish it appears he will number
10:05nine hitter Christian Koss coming
10:06up 0 2 coming to Koss got him
10:09looking so retired so they push
10:12McClain to one hundred five
10:14pitches he gets them through six
10:15innings and that's inside ball
10:17four and Young is on with the
10:18walk batting right handed now he
10:21swings in lines one to left field
10:22going back is Turner Hill reaches
10:24up and makes the catch had a
10:26little jump at the last moment
10:27there so two men away it'll bring
10:30up Francisco Lindor the air deep to
10:33right if it's fair it's gone upper
10:36tank and homerun pulled it right
10:39down the line kept it there by
10:41about three feet or so Francisco
10:44Lindor has hit the Mets fourth
10:46home run in this game so Jan coming
10:49in in a seven run game has given
10:50up a hit and now a one out walk and
10:53his first and second for lefty
10:55Turner Hill they will stick with
10:57Hill Hill on the ground base hit
10:59into right field Cox just flying
11:01around third he'll score without a
11:03play it's nine to three Turner
11:06Hill another run batted in on
11:08base for the third time makes it a
11:11nine to three game two down
11:13nobody on Christian Koss he's over
11:16two of the walk and he's swinging
11:18it's a soft liner into shallow
11:20left field base hit jumped on a
11:23first pitch sinker and kind of
11:25dunked it in and he chops one
11:29that's going to be a hit when he
11:30does that it's a hit period he can
11:33fly speed never slumps he's got to
11:36find a way to get on base thirty
11:37one one sprint speed there's no
11:39pictures and scorecards here's
11:41Devers the giant top home run
11:43hitter Devers to deep right field
11:46it is gone one at bat from
11:51Devers a three run a homer his
11:56thirty third of the year having a
11:58monster game in New York and the
12:01Giants are down nine to six thirty
12:04third home run of the year for
12:06Devers I go to the last of the
12:09eighth inning it's the Mets nine
12:11the Giants six now he drives one
12:15to deep left field forget that his
12:17second home run of the night he
12:19drives one into the Saints a two
12:22home run game for Alvarez his
12:24fifteenth of the year ten to six
12:27New York I still need two more
12:30base runners to get the tying man
12:31to the plate that's the number
12:33eight hitter Nick Thurman and he
12:35lines one to short one hop to
12:37Lindor steps on the back and the
12:38ball game is open that's a five
12:40home runs tonight two of them for
12:42Francisco Alvarez and they take the
12:45open game of the series from the
12:46Giants ten to six.
