01:11I was very specific.
01:13I said, I am a black man of trans experience.
01:16So I thought it meant he was looking for trans people.
01:23And I always get men that approach me assuming that I'm trans.
01:28Instantly, I think I was attracted to Chris.
01:31He did not have all of this when we met, so it was fresh.

02:32Before our first date, I did tell Christopher that I was trans.
02:37I'm a trans man, and people often don't notice.
02:40So I started my medical transition November 23rd of 2016.
02:45Nowadays, I would define my sexuality as pretty fluid.
02:48Before dating Christopher, I was not dating men only.
02:51I had actually previously been in relationships with cisgender women.
02:56And then I had dated a few cis men as well.

03:04Some people assume that I want to be a woman.

03:12I make it very clear online. I am not a trans woman.

03:22I'm definitely assumed to be trans in our relationship
03:25because nobody knows that trans is trans.
03:29I am a trans man. As soon as people find out,
03:31I get judgment for dating someone who is a feminine-presenting man.

04:47So today my mom is coming over to, I guess, share her opinions on how she feels about our relationship.
04:55And initially my mom and nobody knew that Trey was trans.
05:00So technically he didn't really tell me he was dating someone trans.
05:04We went on a Santa Barbara trip with our family.
05:05And I wanted Trey to be comfortable in case we went swimming.
05:08You know, he had his top surgery prior to meeting me.
05:11So he has his scars.
05:13I remember walking out of my mom's house leaving before we go.
05:15And I said, and by the way, Trey is trans.
05:18I don't want to hear no about it from nobody.
05:21And she got up and ran to the door and was like, wait, wait, wait.
05:23Are you being serious right now?
05:25And I was like, yes.
05:27And she was like, you are lying.
05:29When he told me that he was trans, then I said, prove it to me.
05:35I was kind of shocked.
05:37You know, I was like, oh my gosh.
05:39She was completely in disbelief.
05:41It was years later.
05:43And she was like, so I'm going to get a grandchild?

06:40You know, where we discussed if there was a chance of us having a grandchild.

06:50I mean, now it's not necessarily possible considering.

06:57But I know when you were younger, you always talked about you wanted to have a kid.

07:02So that was kind of a thought like, you know, me thinking that you were giving up that option.

07:13I know, but, you know, I was still wondering, like, how was you going to figure it out?
07:17I mean, because, you know, nice to have a little you and me, you know, a little touch of us

07:24At some point, we would love to have children.
07:26That is a part of our future.
07:28What did you think, or I guess, how did you feel when Chris told you that I was trans?
07:33In the very beginning?
07:34Yeah, I didn't believe it.
07:35I was like, y'all lying.

07:37He showed me some things and I was really shocked.
07:41I think you toyed with me to see what my thoughts were going to be.
07:45Because you said, one day you just threw it at me.
07:47What do you think if I dated somebody that was trans?
07:49You just threw it at me one day.
07:51And I remember that.
07:52And I was like, it's not my job to decide what you do.
07:56My job is to love you.
07:57And that's it.
08:00I think our relationship works because we just, we were very honest with each other from the very beginning.
08:06He has definitely added a lot of light, a lot of love, a lot of support, and definitely made me
08:13feel a lot more confident in myself.
08:15We just, we just work.
08:17We're good opposites.
08:18It just kinda, it just fit.
08:20To the people that judge us, you don't know us.
08:22So I mean, you're judging based off of things that you see on social media.

08:27What I would say to people who judge our relationship is, I hope a love like ours finds you.
