== GAME INFORMATION ==
Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom is a side-scrolling action platformer and the third game in the original Ninja Gaiden trilogy. The story follows Ryu Hayabusa as he investigates the apparent death of Irene Lew after being framed for her murder. His search leads him to a mysterious facility controlled by Foster, where he discovers a plot involving genetically engineered creatures known as Bio-noids and the powerful Ancient Ship of Doom. Ryu retains his familiar sword attacks and Ninja Arts while gaining new abilities, including the ability to hang from certain platforms and use an upgraded sword that greatly increases his attack range. The game also introduces a stronger science-fiction theme, with more mechanical and futuristic enemies than its predecessors.

The Super Nintendo version was released in the United States as part of Ninja Gaiden Trilogy and is based on the easier Japanese version of the original game, featuring infinite continues and reduced damage from enemy attacks. It also includes redrawn cinematic sequences, updated visuals, and a password system for continuing progress.
