Tom Jones Claims He Was Fired From The Voice UK for This Reason

Sir Tom Jones is opening up about his surprising departure from The Voice UK, revealing that he did not choose to leave the long-running singing competition. The legendary Welsh singer says ITV made the decision to remove him as a full-time coach ahead of the show's 15th season.
Jones, 86, explained that the reason given to him was a financial difficulty involving insurance. He also said that ITV has publicly described the move as an effort to “refresh” the coaching lineup. For Jones, however, the situation came as a disappointment because he loved being part of the show and had no intention of walking away.
The music icon has been closely associated with The Voice UK since its launch in 2012, apart from sitting out one season. Over the years, he became one of the show's most recognizable coaches and was admired by viewers for his experience, honesty and connection with aspiring singers.
Jones also revealed that he was offered a much smaller role on the upcoming series, involving an appearance without being involved from the beginning. He made it clear that the reduced position did not appeal to him.
ITV has offered a somewhat different perspective, saying it has enjoyed working with Jones and remains in discussions with him about potentially being involved in the next series.
The news has sparked an emotional reaction from fans and fellow musicians, many of whom have praised Jones for his contribution to the program. His departure marks the end of an important chapter for The Voice UK, while the show's upcoming coaching changes signal a major new era.
For Jones, the situation is clearly personal. After more than a decade of helping young performers chase their musical dreams, he appears to believe he still had plenty to offer. His blunt reaction has also made clear that, despite his age, he was not ready to step away from the spotlight just yet.
