00:23Hello and welcome. Good evening. You're watching Super 6 here on India Today. I'm Akshita Nantikopal.
00:28Over the next 60 minutes, we're going to be getting you all the top stories that we're tracking all through
00:34the day.
00:34And of course, our focus is on the southern states. We'll get you all the big news, the big headlines
00:39emerging from the south.
00:41So what have we got lined up for you on the show this evening?
00:45First, the TVK holding a mega alliance meeting and all set to formally announce a name for this alliance.
00:53We've got a news break coming in on that because now we understand that a name has been formally proposed.
00:59The approval yet to come through. But we'll get you details of what was discussed in that meeting.
01:04There have been endless conflicts with these allies. Have they buried all of that in the meeting?
01:08Also coming up on the show this evening, we'll get you a face-off between the BRS and the Congress.
01:14It's endless chaos in the Telangana Assembly.
01:17Twenty-two BRS MLAs, including KTR, have all been suspended for the remainder of the Assembly session.
01:23Revant Reddy has lashed out at the BRS, saying that they need to show basic decorum in the house.
01:29We'll get you all the details of that showdown and those dramatic images that have come in from Telangana.
01:35So lots lined up for you. As always, let's begin with the headlines.
01:42Delhi government cracks down on PG Mafia.

01:59India today accesses an NIA charge sheet in Delhi.
02:02Redford blast case bomber Umair Nabi wrecked Redford multiple times since December 2023.
02:09NIA claims that Umair triggered the blast in panic after arrests in Srinagar.
02:14So it was a suicide blast.
02:19Vande Matram controversy in top gear.
02:22BJP chief Nitin Nabeen slams Congress's anti-national mindset.
02:26Congress retreats Vande Matram full rendition of wall between two communities.
02:31NC speaks out attacking ally Congress for opposing Vande Matram.
02:39Punjab government files FIR in drug war but doesn't name Minister Chima.

02:5522 BRS MLAs axed from Telangana Assembly for the remainder of the session.
02:59BRS MLC is accused of vulgar jibe at Speaker.
03:02Chief Minister Revant Reddy demands apology from the BRS.
03:09BJP points to VVIP racism in DKA's meal.
03:13Highlights that DK Shriv Kumar ate from a steel plate while workers got plastic plates.
03:41The TV case just concluded a mega alliance meeting.
03:45All of the allies coming together and here's what we're picking up from our sources on the name
03:49that's been proposed for this alliance, this regional block in Tamil Nadu.
03:53Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance.
03:57It's a rather long name but Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance is the name that's been proposed.
04:05We're awaiting the formal communication on this but this is in fact the name that's been proposed
04:10for the block of TVK, of Congress, of VCK, of IUML as well.
04:16So all of these leaders along with MDMK, all of them will come together under this umbrella.
04:22I will repeat, it's a fact called the Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance.
04:28Previously, remember the DMK alliance was referred to as SPA, which is Secular Democratic Alliance.
04:33Now you're seeing the change there where you've got more descriptives essentially being added in the name
04:40and this is something Chief Minister Vijay has repeatedly spoken of, of a progressive secular socialist government.
04:46I want to bring in both Apoorva Jayachandran and Anagakeshio for this.
04:50Apoorva is joining us from the location where the meeting took place, which is the TVK headquarters.
04:56Apoorva, what are you picking up from your sources on what was discussed in this meeting?
05:02Apoorva is joining us from the location where the meeting took place, which is the TVK headquarters.
05:03Well, in fact, Akshita, you see this is an important discussion and the meeting that took place.
05:07The second meeting of all the party alliances there and we saw all the leaders primarily from the Congress,
05:13from the VCK, we saw none other than VCK leader, Thothir Mavalin.
05:17And you also saw MDMK chief Viker who had also attended this meeting as well.
05:21Interestingly enough, we've seen the left parties and the stand that they've taken,
05:25which is to not attend this meeting as well.
05:27But other than that, you see the TVK leaders brushing off this aside and going ahead and conducting the meeting
05:33as well.
05:34It's a, you know, this is an important meeting as well because this will be the meeting where all the
05:39parties will lay down their cards,
05:41be it the Congress and the TVK and the, you know, the Prime Ministerial candidate discussion that is taking place,
05:46while the TVK wants Vijay and the Congress wants Rahul Gandhi or be it any of the other, whatever the
05:51VCK's demands are or the IUML.
05:54We see all of these leaders who are attending the meeting today here at Paneur going ahead
05:59and placing their requests down before Tamil Nadu chief minister and TVK chief Vijay as well.
06:04And in fact, in just a short couple of minutes from now, we will also expect chief minister Vijay to
06:10conclude from the meeting and depart from here as well.
06:13It's been so far, it's been around one and a half hours of meeting that has taken place and all
06:18important discussions are on the table there.
06:22All, you know, be it any kind of apprehensions that the alliance parties have,
06:26be the discussions that took place in Tamil Nadu assembly or even who said what all of these discussions will
06:33be taking forth here
06:34amidst the Tamil Nadu chief minister and TVK chief Vijay's foresay as well.
06:41And we will expect a lot more that will be known from this meeting as well.
06:45Interestingly, this will be the meeting in which the TVK will announce the name of their alliance as well.
06:50And the name we're picking up is Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance.
06:55So, Anaka, can you confirm that for us?
06:57We understand this has been proposed, but have all allies come on board on this?
07:02Yeah.
07:06Well, in fact, there are few apprehensions when it comes to the name Victory because Victory is the stamp of
07:11TVK.
07:12So, are other alliance partners fully on board with the name Vettri?
07:16Victory in Tamil is Vettri.
07:17So, that is still a question mark.
07:19However, this is a proposed name that has been put on the table.
07:22We are yet to wait for that final confirmation as to whether the other smaller alliance partners are on board
07:28with this name.
07:29But the reason why the two main values which the TVK stands for, one is of course the values of
07:35social justice and the other one is the values of secular principles.
07:39The two pillars which the TVK says that it stands for will be incorporated in the name of this alliance.
07:45And that's why they also have alliance partners like the likes of IU Amil.
07:49They have alliance partners like the likes of VCK that always stands for the rights of Dalits and socially backwards.
07:54So, therefore, we believe that these two values will find its place in the TVK's alliance name.
08:00We're on standby.
08:01In fact, the cars that you see behind me is Chief Minister Vijay's convoy.
08:05We're on standby for Vijay to come out of this meeting.
08:08He's still chairing that meeting where all the alliance partners are currently attending.
08:12So, just minutes from now, Makshita, we'll get that final name, the big umbrella of TVK's alliance partners, Secular Social
08:18Justice Victory Alliance.
08:20In just a short while from now, we'll get the full confirmation as to the final name of this state
08:25alliance that's led by TVK.
08:28It's quite a hard one to remember.
08:30You know, Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance.
08:34I hope I've got the order right, but that's the name that's reportedly being proposed.
08:37There's a question about where victory will be okay, as Anagar pointed out, because that comes directly from the TVK.
08:43The TVK stands for Tamarga Vetri Karagam.
08:45Vetri means victory.
08:46And so, there's a question about whether the allies will be okay with that reference.
08:49But, Anagar, you know, beyond just that formal name, there have been a whole lot of issues between the allies.
08:55Whether it's the fact that Congress and TVK have kind of been in a, you know, fight, a rather subtle
09:01one over who would be the PM candidate to the Congress has been very clearly calling out the TVK on
09:06that.
09:06Or whether it's the VCK, who just an hour before, in fact, the meeting started, put out a post where
09:12they criticized the Chief Minister for his gesture in the Assembly.
09:18Yeah, yeah, that's right.
09:19And just minutes after that post, Sakshita, which Tirum Avalivan had put out, he showed up for the meeting that's
09:25happening.
09:25So, it's very clear that the VCK is still very strong when it comes to this alliance because this is
09:31the first time that they have found a place in the cabinet.
09:34So, while they will continue voicing out their opinions, which is against TVK, they will continue extending support to TVK
09:41is what that really symbolically shows.
09:44In fact, you're right in highlighting that the Congress and VCK have been at loggerheads about the prime ministerial candidates.
09:50It was making a lot of noise.
09:52So much so that even Minister Adav Arjuna himself has spoken in the Assembly that the next prime minister for
09:59India is going to be from South India,
10:01is going to be decided by Tamaraga Vetri Karagam.
10:03So, therefore, you know, adding more fuel to the speculations that possibly they are touting Vijay to become the next
10:10prime ministerial candidate,
10:11whether he harbors that kind of ambition.
10:13Can I just highlight right now the first images are on our screens.
10:16Anagar, just stay with me.
10:17We're just going to highlight those images on our screens where you've got all of the leaders of this alliance
10:23coming together, showing a thumbs up.
10:25Chief Minister Vijay in the middle, Manikam Tagore, Tamil Nadu Khorgras chief on the left, Tol Thirma Avalivan to his
10:31left.
10:31To his right, you've got the MDMK, you've got the IUML, all of them showing a symbol of thumbs up
10:38to say all is well.
10:40We're together in this fight.
10:42And you see, of course, that this is a message of unity that all the parties are sending across.
10:48You know, there have been differences.
10:50There have been differences between the VCK and the TVK.
10:53There have been differences between the Congress and the TVK.
10:55But clearly, none of that matters right now.
10:58They're all coming together to send an all is well message with this picture of them showing a thumbs up.
11:04Just quickly, Apoorva, your word on this particular image.
11:07What's missing is the left.
11:09You know, they provided outside support.
11:10An invite was extended to them.
11:12They've chosen not to attend because they're still DMK's ally.
11:18Well, that's right.
11:19In fact, the TVK is okay with this as well because they say that they are well aware that the
11:23left is outside.
11:25But importantly, Akshita, right now what we have in our hands is the name of the party there,
11:31the alliance that is there, which is Madhasaar Patra Samooganidi Vettri Kooteni.
11:35This is the name of the TVK's alliance right now.
11:38And as you can see there from the pictures, the thumbs up that is being given by all of these
11:43alliance leaders as well.
11:45We do get to understand that all of these leaders have come together to go ahead and form this Vettri
11:51Kooteni.
11:52It still has the connotations of Tamilaga Vettri Kooteni in terms of Vettri Kooteni.
11:56But interestingly enough, this is the name that has been chosen, which is Madhasaar Patra Samooganidi Vettri Kooteni.
12:07That is the name of the alliance of the TVK and its allies have now chosen.
12:11This is the images that we are getting as well.
12:15IUML, you see IUML leader, you see VCK's Chief Toltir Mavalavan, you see MDMK's Chief Vaiko
12:21and a smiling Manikam Tagore there from the Congress along with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and TVK Chief Joseph C.
12:28Vijay there.
12:29All of them introducing the name of the TVK's alliance leaders.
12:41IUML, you see IUML.
12:57that's
12:57that's
12:57that's
12:58that's
13:10that's
13:11Mr. No, Mr. Sir, what do you think is this?
13:13Mr. This is the main part.
13:20Mr. Sir, you may have seen this as Pois and the Rural Group.
13:24Mr. Sir, have you seen this in Dubai?
13:31Mr. Sir, what do you think?
13:32Your wife is coming to the store?
13:34There you go.
13:37I will come to the store.
13:39Sir, what I can tell you?
13:41How many people didn't do it?
13:42Sir, they have to get the store to them.
13:48How do you feel?
13:50Sure, actually, I was like, what a felt of yourself.
13:55Oh yes, for that.
13:56I'm the only one my friends who worked,
13:58I am excited about this.
14:00This is anственu,
14:05I am a friend who came here inriracha,
14:11and I was like, oh yes,
14:12and I was like, oh,
14:12I'm so sorry,
14:13there was a piece that went in.
14:14You know,
14:15It is always a piece of paper no matter what you have.
14:19Please do not find something.
14:19For the sake of this,
14:21Okay, so that's Minister Sengotian speaking.
14:24My apologies, the order is not very clear.
14:26We'll translate for you in just a bit exactly what he said.
14:29But this is the headline from that particular meeting,
14:31where you've got the RUML, the MDMK, the Congress and the VCK,
14:37all with Chief Minister Vijay to send across a message that we are together in this.
14:42And the name written there, I'll just read it out for you.
14:44Essentially written in Tamil, it's Madhasaad Patra Samuganidi Vetri Kootani,
14:49which translates to Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance.
14:53It's a long one, yes, but they've ensured that what the alliance stands for,
14:57that's highlighted in the name.
14:59The mention of victory also comes, of course, from TVK,
15:03from the Tamiraga Vetri Karagam.
15:04Vetri means victory.
15:05And so that reference is also there in the name.
15:08You can see all the party symbols are also shown there on the display behind
15:12and all of the leaders standing together showing a thumbs up.
15:16And so the idea, the messaging is very clear,
15:18that Anagar, as much as you know there have been questions about unity in this alliance,
15:22about cracks within this alliance,
15:23just a question of 100 days off the government,
15:26they're sending across a message that we are united.
15:28We may have differences, that's not going to break us apart.
15:35That's right.
15:36In fact, that photograph that we are looking at,
15:38all the leaders of all alliance partners giving it a thumbs up.
15:42We even have MBMK's Vaiko,
15:44who has left the DMK recently after the alliance
15:48and he has joined with the TVK's alliance.
15:51All of those leaders giving a thumbs up,
15:53saying that this alliance is solidified.
15:54So make no mistake, for 2029 general elections,
15:58it is this alliance that's going to be fighting in Tamil Nadu.
16:02This is for 2029 and possibly even for 2031,
16:06which they are saying that they have solidified this alliance.
16:10So there it is, the new name that we are looking at,
16:12secular social justice victory alliance.
16:14Victory, why?
16:15Because that is the stamp of TVK,
16:18Tamariga Vetri Karagam.
16:19So therefore, in order to have that stamp,
16:22they have put the name Vetri there,
16:24which all the other alliance partners have also agreed to.
16:27It's going to be quite a big umbrella of an alliance.
16:30They have the values of social justice,
16:32the values of secular principles,
16:34which the TVK says that it stands by.
16:36So therefore, all these values have also been incorporated in this name.
16:40And like we were talking before,
16:42the tussle between the TVK and the Congress
16:45is only going to get more interesting come the general elections
16:48because both these party leaders have different expectations.
16:51So it's going to be quite an interesting development to watch out for.
16:54The fact that two parties in the same alliance
16:56have different aspirations for who should become the prime ministerial candidate.
17:00So this is going to be quite an interesting election 2029 to watch out for.
17:05All right.
17:06Anagar and Apoorwa, just stay with me.
17:08You know, we've been talking constantly about the differences
17:11between the TVK and some of their allies.
17:14And while you see a picture here
17:16where they're sending across a message that all is well,
17:19we've zoomed in for you the image of all of those leaders
17:21because they've all got smiles on their faces.
17:24Clearly very happy to be there,
17:25happy that this alliance is firmed up with a formal name.
17:28There are challenges though.
17:29What am I talking about?
17:31Well, for starters, the fact that for Vijay,
17:34while he sealed the deal with the Congress,
17:35there have been differences over the 2029 PM phase.
17:39And the Congress also has been calling out several TVK leaders
17:43for going ahead and naming Vijay as a potential PM candidate
17:46because that's a threat to Rahul Gandhi.
17:48Upset also with the chief ministers,
17:51VCK, an hour before the meeting,
17:53told Tirma Vallavan, spoke about the gesture that chief minister Vijay did in the assembly
17:57when he brought his hand to his jaw.
17:58And he said that that's not something that we're okay with.
18:01It's not the kind of gesture that we expect from a leader and it's unacceptable.
18:05So while he called out the chief minister on it,
18:08he's attended the meeting.
18:09Left parties, the CPI, the CPIM were extended invites for this meeting,
18:14but they've chosen to skip it.
18:16They've chosen not to be there.
18:17Remember that the left has also provided outside support,
18:20but they maintain that they are very much a part of the DMK alliance,
18:23the only party that's stuck by the DMK because the MDMK ditched them,
18:26the VCK ditched them, as did, of course, the Congress as well.
18:31Let's cut across now to breaking news coming in.
18:40And let's get you more breaking news that's coming in.
18:42This is all on the Tamil Nadu government's plans to set up a new secretariat in the state.
18:48There have been proposals about different locations.
18:50We can confirm for you first on India Today
18:52that the secretariat location has been finalized to be in Patinampakam.
18:57If you know Chennai well, you know that this is at the Fosho Estate.
18:59And it's also very, very close to the Marina Beach.
19:03So in all likelihood, this is going to be a secretariat with a seaside view.
19:07It's also prominently and importantly close to Chief Minister Vijay's residence.
19:12He's got two residences, one along the East Coast Road in Nilankaray,
19:15and the other in Patinampakam, Fosho Estate, right by the Marina Beach.
19:19And this is where we are hearing the new secretariat will come up.
19:23The government order has been issued.
19:25What we're hearing is that in the next three months, moves will be made.
19:29They will start working towards setting up that secretariat.
19:33There's been a lot of politics over a new secretariat previously too.
19:37Because remember, there have been attempts by past governments.
19:39Kalainir built a brand new building for a new secretariat,
19:43citing that Fort St. George is too cramped.
19:45They need a modern one that was converted, however,
19:47to a super specialty hospital by J.J. Lalita.
19:50So it's, of course, an issue that's been marred in endless politics.
19:54But now, once again, the TVK making a renewed effort for a new, modern secretariat,
20:00a sea-facing secretariat, it looks like.
20:02Here's a ground report by Pramod Madhar from earlier today,
20:05just before the announcement, when India today had the scoop
20:07that in all likelihood it's Patinampakami visited that site.
20:10Here's what it looks like.
20:12Announcement has been made by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, C. Joseph Vijay,
20:15that Tamil Nadu is going to get a new secretariat.
20:17This actual spot, close to 25 acres, belongs to the housing board as well.
20:22There are certain places, certain buildings, which are in a condemnable situation,
20:26and there are certain residences here as well.
20:28Behind me, if you see, over there, that is one of Chief Minister's residents.
20:34The Chief Minister stays at two locations.
20:36One is at Nilangare, which is at ECR,
20:38and in this Patinampakam over there,
20:40that building on the 15th floor is also,
20:43there is Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay's residence.
20:47And so this spot apparently is getting a lot of highlight.
20:51How earlier Karnanidhi constructed an almost 80% completed building,
20:56which was converted into Omandurar,
20:58and Jayalalidas' wish to construct a new secretariat did not fulfill.
21:02Two Chief Ministers have failed.
21:04Now the question is, will see Joseph Vijay, the new Chief Minister, succeed,
21:08and will this be the secretariat for Tamil Nadu?
21:11With Irfan, Pramod Madhav, for India today.
21:16All right, let's move on now to what's happening in Telangana,
21:19where today once again has been an extremely dramatic day in the Assembly,
21:22a full-blown political fight,
21:24where ultimately 22 BRS MLAs, including KTR,
21:29have been suspended for the remainder of the Assembly session.
21:32It kicked off with a protest by BRS MLAs outside the Assembly,
21:37led by KTR, where they were wearing black T-shirts.
21:39Over a thousand days of the Revant government,
21:42and they were protesting against the government.
21:43They were detained.
21:44They were not allowed to enter the Assembly.
21:46Right after that, a controversy over a BRS MLC's comment
21:49against the Assembly Speaker,
21:50which was referred to as a casteist slur.
21:54And so there's a showdown over that.
21:55BRS was protesting over all of these issues
21:57and the alleged manhandling of their women MLAs
22:01in the protest that I referred to.
22:02All of this played out in a rather dramatic manner
22:06in the Telangana Assembly.
22:07And ultimately, like I said,
22:0922 BRS MLAs have been suspended.
22:28Days after BRS MLC Tata Madhu made derogatory remarks
22:32against Telangana Assembly Speaker,
22:34it has snowballed into a full-blown political battle.
22:41On Wednesday, 22 BRS MLAs were suspended from the Assembly
22:45for the remainder of the monsoon session.
22:49Earlier, MLC's Tata Madhu and Naveen Reddy were suspended.
22:54The AIMIM came out in support of the BRS saying protest must be allowed
22:59and no action should be taken against anyone.
23:02Honorable Speaker, sir, would ask for a complete inquiry
23:07and would ask them to give a complete report
23:11and a strict action is being taken against the police officers
23:16who have mistreated the legislatures, sir.
23:22KT Ramarao, who has been detained twice since the controversy erupted,
23:26has now met the governor.
23:48Both the Congress and BGP have slammed the BRS
23:51over Tata Madhu's remarks.
23:53They have abused our speaker's mother,
23:57which we will not accept.
23:59And we want to expel those MLCs
24:01who have spoken against our speaker's mother.
24:04Our speaker even cried in the Assembly,
24:06which I have never seen in my life.
24:11Meanwhile, dramatic scenes unfolded in the Legislative Council.
24:15MLC Tata Madhu was lifted by marshals
24:18while he was addressing a press conference
24:20at the Legislative Council media point.
24:25Tata Madhu and Naveen Reddy
24:27were taken outside the Legislative Assembly premises.
24:31Amid the ruckus,
24:33another case has been filed against Harish Rao,
24:36KTR and other BRS leaders
24:38over alleged misbehaviour with women police personnel.
24:43From one controversial remark
24:45to suspensions, detentions and police cases,
24:49Telangana's political battle is only intensifying.
24:53And with neither side backing down,
24:55this showdown is far from over.
24:57With Abdul Bashir, Bureau Report, India Today.
25:03Joining us on this broadcast,
25:05we've got Ravala Sridhar Reddy, BRS leader
25:08and Srinivas Reddy Kumbham,
25:09Congress person on this broadcast.
25:11Thank you both very much for your time.
25:14Srinivas Reddy Kauru,
25:15I'd like to begin with you.
25:16How does the Congress really go ahead
25:19and defend 22 BRS MLAs
25:22being suspended in this manner?
25:23So, isn't that undemocratic?
25:25How does the Assembly proceedings continue now
25:26without an opposition voice?
25:29Here, I would like to say that
25:31Congress definitely respects
25:33the opposition's rights
25:34to protest and question
25:37the government,
25:38but they do not have any right
25:40to disrupt the proceedings of the Assembly.
25:42We have, in fact,
25:43been inviting all the opposition parties
25:46to come and participate
25:48in the debates in the Assembly.
25:50In fact,
25:51we have also requested many times
25:52that the leader of opposition
25:54has to come to the Assembly
25:55and participate in the debates
25:58which are being held.
25:58But here is a case
26:00where they,
26:02for the last three days,
26:03continuously disruptions
26:04to the proceedings of the Assembly,
26:06which is not acceptable
26:08because when a government is elected,
26:10a government is elected to perform
26:13and opposition is also there
26:15and it has to do its duty.
26:16It has to come into the House,
26:18debate,
26:19not get in.
26:19They need to use the microphone
26:21in the House,
26:21not get into the well of the House
26:23and disrupt the proceedings.
26:25You come,
26:25you debate,
26:26if there's any issues,
26:27you point out to the government,
26:29Congress,
26:29government,
26:30where it is going wrong,
26:31then if they,
26:32we are willing to debate on that.
26:33But here is the point
26:35where they are just trying to...
26:37Sir, it's like,
26:38it's like the tables have turned.
26:40You know,
26:40this is what we see happening in Parliament.
26:43This is what we see happening in Parliament,
26:45where the Congress is on the other side
26:46saying that,
26:47you know,
26:47we will not allow a debate
26:49on the BJP's terms.
26:50That's exactly what the BRS
26:52is saying in Telangana, sir.
26:53There have been instances
26:54of Congress MPs
26:55being suspended
26:55in the Parliament as well.
26:58And you've condemned that.
27:00You've condemned that, sir.
27:02Here is a case
27:03which is happening over here.
27:06No, you've condemned that.
27:09So surely that's wrong,
27:10but this is okay.
27:11Then why do you want to say
27:12that it is wrong over here?
27:13No, so that's what I'm asking.
27:14Sir, we have never justified that.
27:16We say that's wrong
27:16and this is wrong too.
27:18That's my question to you.
27:20If it is wrong,
27:20yeah, if it is wrong,
27:21definitely,
27:21it's the prerogative
27:23of the legislature.
27:23There are rules for,
27:25you know,
27:26discipline in the House
27:28and the Speaker has got
27:29the rights to decide
27:30whether the House
27:31has to function or not.
27:32It's up to the legislature here.
27:34Okay.
27:36What has happened
27:37in the House today
27:37is not something
27:38last two days
27:39which is happening
27:39in the Assembly
27:40and today here
27:41in the Assembly.
27:43Definitely,
27:43the Speaker has a right
27:44to take a call on that.
27:45Okay.
27:46Mr. Sridhar Reddy
27:47of the BRS
27:48is also with us
27:49on this broadcast.
27:50Mr. Sridhar Reddy,
27:51the allegation
27:51from the Congress,
27:52you just heard them
27:53saying very clearly
27:54right now
27:55that the reason
27:55this suspension
27:56happened
27:57is because BRS
27:57was not allowing
27:58the House
27:58to function.
28:02Hello?
28:06Sir, go ahead.
28:07Reddy Garu,
28:08can you hear me?
28:09Now, now I can hear you.
28:11Okay.
28:11Go ahead, sir.
28:12The Congress is saying
28:12that you were disrupting,
28:14you weren't allowing
28:14the House to function
28:15and hence the suspensions.
28:18It is Congress Party
28:19who actually,
28:21you know,
28:21showing this kind of behavior.
28:23When our MLS
28:24was trying to enter
28:25yesterday,
28:26they have stopped them,
28:28they have enforced,
28:29they have been brutally,
28:31you know,
28:32stopped
28:32by the police
28:33by, you know,
28:34using the excess powers
28:36and what's wrong in it?
28:37Wearing a black T-shirt
28:39is an unconstitutional
28:40one in this country.
28:42Is there any separate...
28:43No, they were saying
28:44there were obscene messages
28:45on the T-shirts.
28:47Of course,
28:47what's wrong in it?
28:48I mean,
28:49there were no derogatory
28:50statements that were made.
28:51We only were saying
28:52about the thousand days
28:54Congress power,
28:56Congress government
28:56was useless.
28:58They have not implemented,
28:59they have not fulfilled
29:00the promises
29:00that were given
29:01during the last elections.
29:03Even today in the House,
29:04suspending all our members
29:06unilaterally
29:08without asking
29:09for the explanation
29:09only to
29:11surprise the opposition voice.
29:13This government
29:14is not in a position
29:15to answer
29:16the people of Telangana.
29:17After all,
29:18what the principal
29:19opposition will do?
29:20We will be questioning
29:21them on the guarantee.
29:23They gave six guarantees,
29:2413 declarations,
29:26420 promises.
29:27They promised jobs.
29:29They promised
29:29high contensions.
29:31They also promised
29:3210 grams of gold
29:34in the...
29:34Fair enough, sir.
29:35These are all fair questions.
29:36But are you...
29:37The question
29:38that the Congress
29:38alleging here
29:39is that you're not
29:40raising these questions
29:41for a debate.
29:41You're disrupting.
29:42You're not allowing
29:43a conversation to happen.
29:46They are not allowing it.
29:47They were not ready
29:47to answer this question.
29:49No.
29:49They were not ready.
29:50Hence,
29:50they have suspended
29:51everybody today.
29:52What's wrong?
29:53We gave a...
29:53Yesterday,
29:54the Congress,
29:55MLS themselves,
29:57escorted a group
29:58of people
29:59and, you know,
30:00to the residence
30:01of the opposition leader
30:03and former minister,
30:04Chief Minister
30:05Sri KCR's residence
30:06at Erevalli.
30:07They wanted to attack
30:08the house of the residence
30:09of the opposition leader
30:11and one of their MLS
30:13says that
30:13we want KCR
30:14to be dead.
30:15Is this the way
30:16Congress to behave?
30:17When we gave
30:18an adjournment motion
30:19today in the SLA,
30:20they don't want to discuss.
30:22They didn't want
30:22to discuss that.
30:23Okay.
30:23You've given instances.
30:25Mr. Sridiwa's ready.
30:26He's given instances
30:27saying we've pushed
30:28for discussion.
30:29It never happened.
30:31They have come
30:32into the house
30:33and directly rushed
30:34into the well of the house.
30:35We have been inviting
30:36them regularly
30:36for coming and debating
30:38whatever the promises.
30:39If they say that
30:39we have not
30:41implemented our promises,
30:42let them come to the house
30:43with evidence,
30:44debate and then
30:44we are willing to answer.
30:45Where is the leader
30:46of opposition?
30:47Why is he not coming
30:47to the assembly at all?
30:49He does not.
30:50Why is the leader
30:51of opposition there then?
30:52He has been given
30:53a role of responsibility
30:54by the people.
30:56He has been asked
30:56to sit in the opposition.
30:58The people of Telangana
30:59have given him
30:59a responsibility.
31:00He needs to understand
31:01that.
31:02He needs to come
31:02to the assembly.
31:04He does not come.
31:05So let's settle that.
31:06Let's settle that.
31:07People who come to the assembly
31:07they create a ruckuset
31:09So let's settle that
31:10once and for all.
31:12Sridhar Reddy sir,
31:13would it be acceptable
31:14for you if the chief minister
31:15never came to the assembly?
31:16Similarly,
31:17the leader of opposition
31:18questions fairly being asked
31:19of where he is.
31:24Congress wants to escape
31:25from their responsibility
31:26only by saying
31:27that the leader of opposition
31:29is not coming.
31:29The kind of environment
31:31they have created
31:31in the assembly
31:32is not at all
31:35suitable at this point
31:36in time.
31:37We clearly said
31:38they have no answers.
31:41They are doing only
31:42diversionary politics
31:43in the state.
31:43What situation
31:44is not conducive?
31:45Sir, what do you mean
31:46situation is not apt?
31:47What do you mean?
31:49Opposition is coming.
31:50We all have come.
31:50Our deputy floor leaders
31:52and all our MLA's
31:53have come to the assembly.
31:55They gave an
31:56adjournment motion
31:56on the high-handedness
31:58of the police
31:59and the unruly behavior
32:00of the congressmen
32:01trying to attack
32:02the residents
32:03of the opposition leader
32:04making derogatory statements
32:06that we want
32:07opposition leader
32:07to be dead.
32:09Is this the way?
32:10Is this called
32:11Praja Palana
32:12what they called as
32:13completely
32:14the alarm order
32:15is out of the hands
32:16in the state?
32:17We wanted
32:18honorable speaker
32:19to involve.
32:19Today,
32:20our MLCs,
32:21our legislative party
32:22under the leadership
32:23of our leaders
32:24have met
32:26honorable governor
32:26of Telangana
32:27and update him
32:28the situation.
32:29We wanted the governor
32:30to come for our rescue
32:31but congress parties
32:32completely
32:33going out of
32:34their responsibilities.
32:35They want to run
32:36the house
32:36without the opposition.
32:37Okay.
32:38Shriva, sir.
32:40They're arising
32:41lots of people
32:42in Telangana
32:43by putting their
32:4330-year-old,
32:4440-year-old properties
32:45in 22-year
32:47prohibited list.
32:48Nobody wants to answer.
32:49Only to escape
32:50from all these things.
32:51Shriva, sir.
32:53Shriva, sir.
32:54Do you want to respond?
32:54Shriva, sir.
32:55Shriva, sir.
32:56First, let me clarify
32:57one thing.
32:58Congress is not
32:59saying anything
33:00to KCR Garu.
33:01We wish him good health
33:02and we wish him
33:03a long life.
33:04First of all,
33:04let me clarify that
33:05and this has been
33:06clarified by
33:07almost all our leaders.
33:08Second thing,
33:09if you have anything
33:10to debate on
33:11the policies
33:11of the government,
33:12if you have anything
33:13to debate on
33:13the functioning
33:14of the government,
33:15the assembly is open,
33:16the microphone is there
33:17and you are
33:19supposed to come
33:20and debate over there,
33:21not rush into
33:22the well of the house
33:23and then disrupt
33:24the proceedings.
33:24We all have
33:25a constitutional,
33:27you know,
33:28we need to follow
33:29what is there
33:30as per legislature.
33:31We have a responsibility
33:32towards the legislature.
33:33Once we are elected,
33:35we need to
33:36be responsible citizens
33:38and be responsible
33:39MLS as a leader
33:40of opposition
33:40or as the chief minister
33:42also.
33:42When the chief minister
33:43is requesting
33:43the opposition leader
33:44to come,
33:45why is he not coming?
33:46Is he only on paper?
33:49What is...
33:50Mr. Shridhar, sir.
33:51Shridhar, sir,
33:51your response quickly
33:52and then I wrap this up.
33:53Then I am trying to say,
33:55whatever...
33:55We are trying to get in
33:56other issues here,
33:57then we will get a debate
33:58on a full day.
34:00We are waiting for a debate
34:01on all the subjects.
34:03We are not going back
34:04on this.
34:05Whatever Mr. Srinivas Reddy
34:06is saying now
34:07on this forum,
34:09if Hannibal Speaker
34:10or Congress Government
34:12is really giving
34:13that space
34:13in the assembly,
34:14we have done the same.
34:15What is the point
34:17in rejecting
34:17the adjournment motion?
34:19Is it not important?
34:20Let me speak.
34:20You are only...
34:21Wait, wait a second.
34:22You are only trying
34:22to always talk about
34:24the, you know,
34:25opposition leader
34:26not ruling the house.
34:27You, at one end,
34:28you are not in a position
34:28to answer.
34:29As TRS party,
34:31as principal opposition,
34:32you have come.
34:33You wanted answers,
34:35but you wanted to
34:36suppress the voice
34:36of the opposition.
34:38This is how the...
34:38Yesterday,
34:39day before yesterday,
34:40in front of the assembly,
34:42you have used
34:43the police force
34:43to brutally
34:44assault our,
34:45you know,
34:47women legislators.
34:48You can see
34:49the visuals there.
34:50Okay, okay.
34:51And 12 of our
34:51emilates were arrested.
34:52Okay, we'll put out
34:53that video of...
34:53Fine.
34:54We'll put out
34:55that video of women
34:55BRS MLAs
34:56and what happened
34:57to them
34:57in the manhandling
34:58in their detention
34:59process.
35:00And I'll give
35:00one final chance
35:01to Mr. Sridhiva's
35:02ready to respond.
35:03I'm completely out of time,
35:04but Mr. Reddy,
35:04go on.
35:05Quick response.
35:05Look at the visuals.
35:06As far as the
35:09manhandling of the...
35:11Allegation of manhandling
35:12of all the MLAs
35:13on the...
35:14Especially the women MLAs.
35:15Let's put that out.
35:16The women MLAs.
35:16I put has already
35:17intervened in that
35:19and definitely
35:20an inquiry has been
35:21ordered and we'll
35:22definitely abide by that.
35:24Secondly,
35:26some of the...
35:27Two of the MLCs,
35:28they have spoken
35:28in a very unparliamentary
35:30and derogatory manner
35:31against the office of the...
35:33I mean,
35:33against the speaker.
35:34You have every right
35:35to criticize,
35:37but you have no right
35:38to, you know,
35:38have personal abuses
35:40against anyone,
35:41which is not right.
35:42It is not acceptable
35:43in any standard.
35:45Okay.
35:45And they are just
35:46trying to, you know,
35:47they are just trying
35:48to disrupt the proceedings
35:49of that because
35:50they want to overshadow
35:51what has happened yesterday.
35:52Okay.
35:53Okay.
35:54I've run out of time.
35:55My apologies.
35:56Mr. Sridhar Reddy,
35:57I know you want to come in,
35:58but I've run out of time.
36:00Yeah,
36:01we've played out the video.
36:02We've played out the video.
36:02Mr. Srinivas Reddy,
36:03I hope you'll condemn this at least.
36:08This video.
36:09You condemn it.
36:12If any human legislator
36:14has been manhandled
36:16as being shown here,
36:17it is definitely condemnable
36:18and the action
36:19will definitely be taken
36:20against those people.
36:22That is a undertaking
36:23from the Congress party.
36:25Condemnation from the government.
36:26Till now,
36:27the government officials,
36:28not the chief minister,
36:30not the speaker.
36:30The I-Court has intervened
36:31and the I-Court has already intervened
36:34and the inquiry commission
36:35headed by the DGP is already intervened.
36:39Okay, all right.
36:39Where is the government?
36:41Mr. Srinivas Reddy.
36:41Okay, I've run out of time.
36:42I've run out of time.
36:43Mr. Sridhar Reddy
36:44and Mr. Srinivas Reddy.
36:46My apologies.
36:47I've run out of time.
36:48Thank you both very much
36:49for joining us on this broadcast.
36:50You've heard from the BRS
36:51and the Congress
36:52are on this issue.
36:53Ultimately,
36:5422 BRS MLAs
36:56suspended.
36:56Out for the remainder
36:57of the Assembly session.
36:59The war of words, though,
37:00continues.
37:00Let's get you a news break
37:01coming in.
37:13This is Telangana
37:14Chief Minister
37:14Revant Reddy
37:15lashing out at the BRS.
37:17Remember,
37:17the Congress
37:18has accused
37:18the BRS MLC

37:21of hurling a casteist slur.
37:23And so,

37:43the BRS
37:46of the BRS

38:34A.
38:35I am
39:06Okay, from Talangana, let's move over to Karnataka, where the Congress is taking on the Enforcement
39:11Directorate, calling raids conducted by the EDS politically motivated.
39:16Why?
39:16Because their minister and senior leader, Satish Jarki Holi, has been targeted in the latest
39:20round of raids that were conducted in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
39:24What are the allegations against Satish Jarki Holi?
39:26How have the Congress and the BJP chosen to react to this?
39:30Let's get to all of those details.
39:35The Enforcement Directorate has conducted searches at 18 locations across Karnataka and Maharashtra,
39:41linked to Karnataka Minister Satish Jarki Holi and his associates.
39:48The raids covered Jarki Holi's residence and the residence of his daughter, Chikodi MP Priyanka Jarki Holi.
39:57Jarki Holi was Karnataka's excise minister from 2013 to 2016.
40:04The ED probe is linked to alleged irregularities involving 18-bar licences.
40:10Jarki Holi is accused of misusing his influence in the licensing process and taking bribes in exchange for licences.
40:18He is also accused of allegedly diverting funds abroad.
40:21The ED is further probing suspected overseas investments by his family, including an alleged link to an African mining company.
40:30The Congress, meanwhile, has rallied behind its minister, calling the action politically motivated.
40:38My colleague and all his family members have been raided.
40:41It is unfortunate.
40:43It is fully a political angle.
40:45He is a businessman.
40:46He will answer.
40:48I am confident that he has done nothing wrong.
40:52I know that I don't want to defend of any of his relative issues.
40:57But as far as Satish is concerned, he is a very progressive, forward-looking and a clean politician with the
41:05Congress Party stands committed.
41:08He is a great leader.
41:09I know Satish Jarki Holi since from quite long.
41:12Last from 30 years I know him.
41:13I am with him like a...
41:15I will stand by him like a rock.
41:17Apart from me, the entire Congress Party, the entire Congress leadership, apart from that throughout Karnataka,
41:23he has got lakhs of people who are in support with him.
41:25And this is just nothing but a political vindicta, it looks like.
41:29The BJP is raising the heat and demanding Jarki Holi's resignation.
41:34Without any reasons, enforcement directorate will not write a senior minister or any MLA for that matter.
41:43So, day by day, people of Karnataka are witnessing corruption in various departments.
41:53So, I feel ministers will be forced to resign from the Cabinet.
42:00For now, the ED probe will determine where the alleged money trail leads.
42:04But politically, the raids have opened a fresh battle in Karnataka.
42:09Visagai Raj, Bureau Report, India Today.
42:16And also in Karnataka, there's been a big setback for the Kharge family.
42:20The Karnataka High Court has paved the way for a local Yukta probe into the Siddhartha Vihar Trust land case,
42:26directly linked to Malik Arjun Kharge.
42:28The Karnataka High Court has quashed an earlier lower court order
42:32and directed a special court dealing with cases against elected representatives to reconsider the matter.
42:38What really is this case here?
42:39The complainant, who had originally, in fact, claimed that there was a scam here,
42:45had challenged the special court's decision to conduct its own inquiry.
42:48The complaint alleges that the trust availed a 50% concession
42:52by claiming SC Trust status, Scheduled Caste Trust status,
42:57and also questioned the allotment of land at the Devanahalli Aerospace Park,
43:00citing an alleged lack of experience in aerospace and research.
43:05The trust previously returned that land,
43:07but the High Court direction paves the way for a potential local Yukta investigation
43:11into how that land was acquired, where the influence was used.
43:15Key names mentioned in those allegations are Malik Arjun Kharge,
43:19are Radhakrishnan Kharge, Radhabai Kharge, Rahul Kharge, Priyank Kharge,
43:23as well as MB Partal.
43:25So the entire Kharge family has essentially been named in this particular case.
43:37Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu has once again reiterated
43:41that he is for families having more children.
43:45He says that, yes, people think having children is difficult,
43:48but children are our wealth.
43:50Because Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu's comments
43:53and the incentives that he's brought about in Andhra Pradesh
43:56of giving families who have a third child a financial incentive,
44:00financial help, that's come under a lot of criticism.
44:03He's chosen now to come out and defend his particular statements earlier,
44:08saying that while previously I was all for controlling population
44:12when those numbers were going up,
44:13right now it's decreasing.
44:15Many countries have suffered because of that.
44:18He suggests India too could suffer as a result.
44:22Listen in to what the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister said.
44:42He's is a non-media.
47:11And this, amid a lot of questions over whether it's also mired in a lot of politics.
47:19According to Section 66 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, EDS sent a request to
47:30DGP of the state to take a fire against the former Chief Minister, Mr. Pundrayo Vijayan,
47:38and his daughter, and his son-in-law.
47:43This is, major allegations are there.
47:46They are investigating into that case.
47:49The government accepted that request.
47:53Then we will go through a legal scrutiny.
47:57Law will take its own course.
47:58Are there more serious crimes than what has been reported by the enforcement director?
48:03Yes.
48:06Shibimul is joining us live from Tiruvannathapuram with more details on this.
48:10Shibimul, we're playing out that sequence where the former Keralam Chief Minister refused to answer any questions,
48:14rather choosing to snap at the journalist who asked him about the EDS' latest move.
48:20But take us through the allegations here.
48:22Why has Pindrayo Vijayan's name also come up at a time when this case largely has surrounded his daughter?
48:32Well, you know, the CPIM says that this has been the target of the ED,
48:36saying that, you know, right from the beginning, the ED was targeting his daughter,
48:40and it was just a platform to get to Pindrayo Vijayan.
48:44And that's what the ED is doing right now, is what the CPIM says.
48:46But the ED's finding is that he has received bribe of around 3 crore,
48:51and that came through his daughter.
48:53And his son-in-law, Veena's husband, and CPIM MLA Mohamed Riyas, played as a mediator.
48:59He was the one who transferred this money through multiple channels to various people
49:05and to their own source of income.
49:06That's what the ED's finding is, saying that a case should be registered by the Kerala police.
49:11The government's stand is that the report has now been forwarded to the Home Secretary.
49:18After the Home Secretary analyzes it, they will seek legal opinion.
49:21Post that, they'll take a decision is what we are learning at this point.
49:25The CPIM says this is vendator politics that's playing out.
49:28And they also go on to say that the ED's finding is that in 2016 is when this CMRL owner
49:35started transferring money to Veena.
49:37And they're saying that Riyas played the mediator's role, but they got married only in 2020.
49:43So what is the whole logic behind this is what the CPIM is asking.
49:47But this definitely has put the Congress in a fix,
49:51because the Congress at the national level has always raised questions on ED's intention,
49:55with Rahul Ghandi leading the charge that ED is being misused to attack opposition political parties
50:01and their leaders.
50:02So, but from Chief Minister's response today, it's very clear that they're going to go ahead
50:07and take the legal route, because the Chief Minister says there is much more than what
50:11is there outside the ED's report, not just mentions about this monthly payment CMRL case,
50:16but there is much more findings that's there in the ED report.
50:19So based on that, we will take the legal route.
50:21There's no doubt about it.
50:23But making it clear that they had raised this argument, this allegation against the then
50:28Chief Minister during the elections and during the last three years.
50:31So they cannot withdraw from that allegation.
50:34It's interesting, you're right in highlighting that the Congress has always been against the ED.
50:37In this case, we'll have to see if they're convinced by the ED's allegations.
50:41Thanks, Shubhi, for joining us with all of those details.
50:43Interesting political developments there in Kerala.
50:46But as I wrap up this edition of Super 6, I will leave you with a report.
50:51Remember, we're two days away from the anniversary of 9-11, the deadliest terror attack on American
50:57soil.
50:57But US President Donald Trump, well, his account of that day has now triggered a fresh controversy
51:02because Trump has now claimed, in a rather detailed version of what happened, that firefighters
51:07actually pulled him out of the rubble, carried him away from near the World Trade Center.
51:12None of that, mind you, actually happened.
51:15I'm leaving you with this report.
51:16Thanks for tuning in.
51:30September 11, 2001, 25 years ago, America witnessed one of the deadliest terror attacks in history.
51:39Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four planes, crashing two into New York's World Trade Center, one
51:45into the Pentagon, while the fourth came down in Pennsylvania.
51:5425 years on, the 9-11 legacy is back in focus.
51:59New York City has released 9-11 records and settled lawsuits seeking access to fires on air
52:06quality and the health impact of the attacks.
52:10I am proud to announce that our administration has settled two lawsuits between the city and
52:169-11 Health Watch, ending what has been a multi-year legal battle and restrictions on New Yorkers'
52:22ability to access information that can shed valuable insight on air quality and health concerns.
52:29Administration after administration has ignored those calling for answers and clarity, instead
52:35choosing to bury them in legal arguments and in red tape.
52:39We will do no such thing.
52:41As we mark 25 years, it is time for this painful chapter to end.
52:47Meanwhile, at the White House, Donald Trump honored the firefighters and first responders he
52:53called immortal heroes.
52:55But his remarks about his own experience on 9-11 have triggered a fresh controversy.
53:02Trump claimed that firefighters carried him away from the area near one Liberty Plaza.
53:08Don't forget, two firemen.
53:10We thought it was coming down on top of us and two firemen, big, strong guys.
53:14And I'm not the smallest guy in the world.
53:16They grabbed me under the arms and said, got to get out of here.
53:19And they literally lifted me up.
53:22This is not easy to do.
53:24I'm big.
53:25They lifted me up and they started running with me.
53:28I said, fellas, I can run myself.
53:30But they were amazing.
53:31But they thought it was coming down.
53:32It didn't come down.
53:33U.S. Steel.
53:35But critics have challenged that account, pointing out that Trump was not at the World
53:40Trade Center site during the immediate aftermath of the attacks.
53:44At the same time, videos and photographs from the day have surfaced online, adding fuel to
53:50the debate over what Trump actually witnessed and when.
53:53I hope we attack fast.
53:54I hope we find out who it is and go fast.
53:56OK.
53:57Why do you want to come down here today?
53:58I have about 100 men working down here.
54:00So just to spur them on.
54:01Hi, folks.
54:02Questions over the claim quickly spread online with some demanding proof.
54:07Then came another image, now going viral on social media.
54:14And predictably, the Internet has turned the controversy into a meme fest.
54:20Stay with us, sir.
54:21We've got you.
54:22Keep moving.
54:22Almost clear.
54:23Help me.
54:25Trump has made varying claims about his presence and experiences on 9-11 over the years.
54:32And as America marks 25 years since the attacks, those contradictions are once again under the spotlight.
54:40Bureau Report, India Today.
