00:02CHAMPIONS
00:33He didn't score away from home in the league phase in the entirety of last season.
00:38Buchanan delivers the corner and that one flashes all the way across the face of goal.
00:46Sarbic in for Girassi, who did well to bring Bayern into it.
00:52And Girassi had continued his run and couldn't quite reach it in the middle.
01:01Taking on Bayern and delivering the cross and it came through for Mikel Terza.
01:06This wasn't quite able to react and reach it as he wanted to reach it.
01:12Santiago Mourinho, Tejon Buchanan, Buchanan!
01:16And the goalkeeper reacted to get it at the second time of asking.
01:24Svensson, nearly for Bayern, is it going to come for Girassi? It did!
01:28And Gillespie rewarded for being alert to the danger there.
01:33The only Dortmund player in that situation.
01:36But he survived the scare, he won the ball.
01:38And the referee brings the first half to its conclusion with nothing to separate the sides.
01:46Nothing separating them yet.
01:48But Dortmund will certainly feel that they were building some momentum before the break.
01:54And here's Felix Metzsche picking up possession in a really useful position.
01:59When Jery tried to turn, gets the shot away, and he's really unlucky to see it come back off the
02:04post.
02:05Jery a fraction away from a first Dortmund goal, although it actually, I think, brushed off Gourassi on the way
02:13through.
02:16And Sarvica.
02:20Inside of him is Bayer.
02:22And now Mourinho, and delivers, and then it hits Renato Vega and goes in.
02:27And Borussia Dortmund make the breakthrough.
02:32Frustration for Villarreal.
02:35Particularly over the nature of the concession.
02:39But certainly a touch of fortune about it.
02:41Bayer was onside.
02:43And he got the better of Mourinho here.
02:45Deserves real credit off the goalkeeper, off the defender, and in.
02:52and trying to deal with that cross from Maximilian Bayer.
02:57Could only help it on to Renato Vega, and he couldn't react in time to sort out his positioning.
03:05Mourinho and Sir Buchanan ahead of him.
03:10Buchanan against Bayer.
03:12And still Tejom Buchanan did really well.
03:14And it's too high from Oluwassi.
03:16C'est parti !
03:52Le Real corner, flicked on, and in !
03:56And they've got the equalising goal ! Santiago Mourinho wheeling away in celebration !
04:01It comes from the set piece !
04:05And they have just been beginning to threaten it !
04:13Coble caught out !
04:17Just cleared the head of Pep Gaye, who was rising for it as well !
04:23And there's the decisive contact from Mourinho !
04:33Dortmund will have to try and do it all over again, but instead it's Mikhail Tanza !
04:37And all sorts of options here for Villarreal to try and turn it around !
04:42Buchanan's effort brings a fine save from Cobol !
04:49How have lessons been learned by Dortmund from the corner ?
04:52Well, they'll try something different this time !
04:54Buchanan straight through to Cobol on this occasion !
04:58Once that little spell wasn't there straight after the equaliser went in !
05:01Where Villarreal were on top threatening a second !
05:03But it's... Dortmund may be looking more likely again at the moment !
05:06Sarvic stretching to reach that !
05:08Delivers the cross !
05:09And it's just wide !
05:11With both Guressi and Baye trying to meet it !
05:15Heavily involved right up until the moment he did !
05:17But here come Dortmund again !
05:18And there is Fabio Silva bringing the save from Galazzi at full stretch !
05:23The Portuguese only just on !
05:30Riesen !
05:31Oh, Bellingham !
05:33That's a really good ball for Fabio Silva !
05:35Garesi !
05:40Dortmund back in front !
05:43And Serhu Garesi's got his goal !
05:46On his 100th appearance for the club !
05:51A 63rd goal for the club !
05:54In the first two Bundesliga games of the new campaign as well !
05:58And now gets the decisive touch here !
06:01And he was just onside !
06:03And that ball was played across by Fabio Silva !
06:06Who's made a difference off the Dortmund bench !
06:09In the minutes that he's been on the field !
06:13He turns provider !
06:15And Borussia Dortmund's number nine !
06:18Was left with the relatively straightforward task of turning that into the empty net !
06:24Match winner with two !
06:26And they were victorious against Villarreal here last season !
06:36This is Fabio Silva in space to try and settle it !
06:38Super save Galazzi !
06:40That's a stunning stop !
06:43Scored in the Europa League final against Manchester United !
06:47In that famous victory which secured their first ever major trophy !
06:51He is on to try and get them back in this !
06:54But it's Dortmund still pressing with the Riessen Corner !
06:58And the referee saves penalty !
07:02Produces the yellow car !
07:04But more importantly hair points to the spot !
07:07Does Simone Sosa !
07:08The video assistant referee to check !
07:13Mourinho on the Gerasi !
07:18Confirmation that he was yellow carded as well !
07:20Santiago Mourinho in the concession of the penalty there !
07:23He's the player that did get his side back on terms !
07:26But if this goes in from Gerasi !
07:28It will be perhaps a mere footnote in the overall story !
07:31Gerasi !
07:32Who had a penalty saved in this fixture last season !
07:35But scored from the rebound !
07:37He was up against Lewis Junior then !
07:38It's Galazzi tonight !
07:40To try and stand in his way !
07:42Gerasi with a powerful penalty !
07:45His second goal of the nine !
07:47In quick succession !
07:49Two in five minutes !
07:50For Dortmund's number nine !
07:52And 3-1 Borussia Dortmund !
07:56Off the ball !
07:57And Gerasi !
07:58Put the ball down on the penalty spot !
08:00And did the rest decisively !
08:06Bellingham !
08:07Down after picking the pass !
08:09But he did find Fabio Silva with it !
08:11And he's still going again here !
08:12Fabio Silva denied once more by Galazzi !
08:15It's another really strong hand !
08:17From the Villarreal goalkeeper !
08:23He's the one that's conceded the free kick here !
08:25Nicola Pepe !
08:26Will take it for Villarreal !
08:27Whips it in !
08:29And it is in !
08:30Surely !
08:31Well !
08:32It's not quite done yet !
08:37It's another scrappy goal !
08:39But it's one that gives Villarreal some hope in stoppage time !
08:43Good things !
08:44This time !
08:45Trying to help out his defence !
08:48It's gone in off his face !
08:51And it's an unwanted hat-trick of sorts !
08:54Because he's scored at both ends now !
08:58They're checking this !
08:59But it's not going to take too long I think !
09:02Gerard Moreno !
09:04Bellingham with him !
09:05Moreno delivers !
09:06And Anton hasn't dealt with it !
09:08Oh !
09:10Clashing across the face of goal !
09:12And just missing that far post !
09:14Last chance surely !
09:16For Villarreal to improbably pinch a point !
09:20Good place delivery !
09:23Didn't really ask the questions that he needed to !
09:27And Dortmund will settle for that !
09:29It might be the last action !
09:30Referee having a look at the watch !
09:32What a frantic conclusion to the contest !
09:36What a second half this has been !
09:41No wonder it's all !
09:44Really beginning to boil over !
09:46But that is that !
09:47That's the full time whistle !
09:48Borussia Dortmund are relieved to hear it !
10:04Borussia Dortmund are relieved to hear it !
