00:00India's space program has taken another major step towards making its powerful LVM-3 rocket even more capable.
00:08The Indian Space Research Organization, or ISRO, has successfully conducted a flight acceptance hot test of its CE-20 cryogenic
00:17engine at an uprated thrust level of 220 kN.
00:21The test was carried out on September 9 at the ISRO Propulsion Complex in Mahindra Giri, Tamil Nadu.
00:27The CE-20 powers the upper cryogenic stage of the LVM-3 launch vehicle.
00:33ISRO is working to operate future LVM-3 missions with an uprated C-32 stage, allowing the rocket to carry
00:39a higher payload.
00:41The latest test also successfully demonstrated the performance of the LOX tank pressurization module, or LTPM, planned for the C
00:48-32 stages of the Gaganyan missions.
00:50This achievement follows a 165-second sea-level hot test of the CE-20 at the same higher thrust level
00:57in March.
00:58The latest successful test is another crucial step towards operationalizing the uprated C-32 stage.
01:04And with LVM-3 playing a key role in India's human spaceflight ambitions, the development could further strengthen the country's
01:11heavy-lift launch capabilities.
