00:54for materials you're going to need two types of yarn you'll need medium weight yarn for the muzzle
01:01arm flippers and the tail flippers this is hobby cotton eight slash eight with that yarn i'm using
01:08a 3.25 millimeter crochet hook for the body in the head you'll be using plush yarn this is a

01:17bulky weight chanel velvet yarn and it's hobby's um toucan yarn with the super bulky weight yarn i'm
01:26using a five millimeter crochet hook you will also need stuffing scissors a yarn needle plastic safety
01:35eyes i'm using 12 millimeter eyes for my seal and you'll be getting some thin black yarn for embroidering
01:44the little details on your seal let's go ahead and get started
01:57let's go ahead and crochet the head and the body we're starting off with the plush yarn here this is
02:04weight six super bulky pusher and a five millimeter crochet hook for the head um we're gonna start
02:12off with two chains in round one here's my slip knot to begin my chains chain one and chain two
02:20now
02:21we're going to work in the second chain from the hook inserting eight single crochets into the second chain
02:27we're going to work in the second chain that's one two three
02:40four five

02:49seven
02:51and eight
02:55after you do that we're going to move on to round two around two we're going to increase all the
03:01all around so put two single crochets in each stitch there's my first increase oops here's my second increase

03:49and eighth increase
03:54now we've got round two complete it's time to move on to round three for round three you're going
04:00to single crochet and increase we're giving that around eight times
04:07you're going to go to round three for the next one you're going to be using a little crochet
04:07if you'd like you can use a piece of strap yarn to create a stitch marker i'm just going to
04:14use a tiny
04:15little thread here and i'm going to put it at the start of my round so this will tell me
04:20where my round
04:21begins and ends. Now let's start with round three so that's single crochet and
04:28increase. Repeating that around, single crochet and increase and single crochet
04:41and increase. And we're gonna meet back at the end of this round.
04:53Here, round three is complete. Now to move on to rounds four to six, we're just going to
05:00single crochet around for these next several rounds. I'm switching my yarn marker up here
05:05and getting ready to start. And again, for rounds four all the way to six, we're just
05:13doing single crochets around for a total of three rounds. So let's go ahead and meet
05:19back when we finish single crocheting around for round six. Here is what it looks like when
05:29round six is complete. As you can see, the head is taking shape. And now is actually a good
05:35time to put in those plastic safety eyes. I put in 12 millimeter eyes and they're between
05:40rounds four and five. So counting from the top, that's round one, two, three, four, and five.
05:48So right between four and five here. And I put them six stitches apart. So counting from there,
05:56it's one, two, three, four, five, and six. When you're ready, you can go ahead and just fasten
06:05the backings on. I sometimes have trouble so I like to use this nifty little tool. I've got a link
06:19in the
06:19description box if you want to get the safety eye attachment tool. It makes it really easy to put on
06:25those safety eyes and very securely too. They get them in a lot better than my hands could ever do.
06:35So just pop it in and click just like that. All right.
06:43Now let's keep working along. For round number seven, we're simply going to decrease all the way around.
06:50So starting here, we're going to decrease one, two, three, four, five,
07:28six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
07:5211,
07:58and 12.
08:03All right. After you do that, you will have round number seven complete. And we're going to start on
08:12round eight now. For round eight, we're going to work only in the front loops only. So that means
08:18instead of going under both loops like you would normally do, we're going to go under only the
08:24front loop that is closer to you. So working in the front loops only for this entire round, round eight.
08:31So in the front loops, we're going to single crochet two and then increase, repeating that four times
08:35around. Let's get started here. So single crochet in the front loop. One and two. Oops, pulled a little too
08:51hard there.
08:53Then in the next stitch, I'm going to increase, continue on. Single crochet two, one and two.
09:12And then in the next stitch, we're going to increase. Repeat that again. Single crochet two,
09:40increase. And all the way around until you reach the end of the round.
10:02Your piece should now look a little something like this. You've got the head now formed.
10:10And you can clearly see the difference between where the head ends and where the body starts.
10:16For this next round, round number nine, we're going to single crochet three and then increase,
10:22repeating that four times around. So it'll look like this. One, two, three single crochets,
10:32increase. And then increase. By the way, we're back to working in both loops instead of just front loops only.
10:40All right. Single crochet one, two, and three. And then we're going to increase.
10:51Let's keep going. Single crochet one, two, and three. And increase.
11:07And last repetition. Single crochet one, two, and three.
11:17And increase. And we're going to do one more round of increases here. We're going to single crochet four,
11:27and then increase all the way around. Doing that four times. So one, two, three, and four.
11:36And then increase. And continue around. One, two, three, four single crochets. And then increase.
11:58And so forth.
12:24All right. And that's that for round number 10 here. For rounds 11 to 13, we're going to simply single
12:33crochet around. And that's not increasing or decreasing, just doing straight rounds here.
12:40And we're going to do that for three rounds total. So let's go ahead and single crochet around.
12:47And I'm going to meet back when we are finished with round number 13. If you're using a stitch marker,
12:54you can go ahead and shift it up to the spot to keep track of where these three rounds start
13:02and end.
13:10Here you can see round 13 is complete. And we've got the body of our seal forming.
13:17And let's go ahead and move on to round number 14. For round 14, we're going to single crochet two
13:24and decrease,
13:25repeating that around six times. Here's what it'll look like. Single crochet two, and then a decrease.
13:36And again, we're going to repeat that around six times. So single crochet two, and decrease.
13:44Single crochet two, decrease.
13:52Single crochet two, decrease.
14:01Single crochet two, decrease.
14:10And single crochet two, decrease.
14:21And now we're going to single crochet a round for round number 15.
14:27Doing a straight round here with no increases or decreases.
14:59At this rate, after you finish round 14, or excuse me, round 15,
15:04we can go ahead and stuff the head and the body.
15:08We want to make sure the head is well stuffed before we move on.
15:25After you stuff your seal, we can go on to round 16.
15:30For round 16, we're going to single crochet and decrease six times a round.
15:34So that's single crochet and decrease.
15:46Single crochet, decrease.
15:55Single crochet, decrease.
16:04And last one, single crochet and decrease.
16:17And last one, single crochet and decrease.
16:29And then for the very, very last round, round number 17, we're simply going to decrease a round
16:38for a total of six stitches.

17:14We're going to fast off with a tail so that we can sew the open and closed.
17:20And now's the time if you find that the last few,
17:24um, or last bit of the tail isn't stuffed enough,
17:27you can go ahead and add some stuff in your nose to make up for it.
17:35I like my amigurumi nice and chubby so I like to stuff it quite well
17:45and now let's go ahead and sew up the bottom um here so I'm just gonna thread my yarn needle
17:58and what I like to do um when closing up the opening is to go through just the front loops
18:05only and I do a running stitch around so as you can see I'm going in and out in and
18:14out the front
18:15loop and last one in and out that front loop and then when I pull it tight it cinches up
18:28the hole
18:28really neatly and sorry for the shedding um now you can go ahead and weave in the ends for your
18:39tail
18:54for the muzzle we'll be crocheting with the medium weight yarn and the 3.25 millimeter hook
19:01let's start with four chains so I'm going to begin my chains with a slipknot
19:12and now chain one two three and four then you're going to work in the second chain from the hook
19:20starting from there so going into that second chain we're going to insert a single crochet
19:30then we're going to single crochet in the next chain and then in the fourth in the last chain here

19:43going to insert three single crochets so going in here I'm going to put in all three one two
20:01and three after you put in three single crochets you're going to find yourself on the other side

21:15begin my stitches and it's one two three four five and six then we're going to tighten that ring

23:03then decrease so that's one two three four five six and seven
23:19and last um part is a decrease
23:25like so now very last round we're going to single crochet two and decrease two times around here's

24:03and that's that for the arm flipper we're going to go ahead and fasten off with a bit of a
24:09tail or a

24:38for the tail flippers we're going to start with the medium white yarn and a 3.25 millimeter hook

28:40to just use my hook to grab that and pull it in
28:47and go ahead and make two tail flippers we're going to fasten off with a long tail
28:53so that you can use it for sewing to the um bottom of the body later
