00:00So the Vikings, listen, this is another team that you were higher on a little bit because of Kyler Murray.
00:06They lose Kyler Murray early to that really bad concussion.
00:10Didn't look good at all.
00:11I mean, he had the fencing and everything.
00:13It was just a bad sight.
00:14So Carson Wentz took over.
00:16And hey, guess what?
00:17The Vikings won anyways.
00:18It didn't matter.
00:20Justin Jefferson was awesome.
00:22He caught two touchdowns.
00:23Carson Wentz, three touchdowns, no picks, 12 of 19, John.
00:28Minnesota, they scored 29 straight points and won 39 to 22 thoughts.
00:35I, this is why you may never see JJ McCarthy again.
00:40Now the, the problem is Carson Wentz will get hurt.
00:46He's a, he's a walking sprained ankle on Sunday, right?
00:50He's going to get hurt.
00:52And the Kyler Murray injury was, was really bad.
00:56It looked bad in the immediate, it looked bad.
01:00The aftermath of it, when they showed the replay and, and it's body, the body language and formation, that looked
01:05bad.
01:05So that, that feels like that's going to be more than just a week.
01:10But I thought Carson Wentz really looked like he did in Philly when he was upright and he was healthy.
01:15He was moving, but this is the Kevin O'Connell.
01:19This is the Kevin O'Connell effect.
01:21Justin Jefferson just needs you to throw it in his direction, near his hands.
01:26And JJ McCarthy couldn't do that last year.
01:28They found somebody.
01:29They found two guys to do that.
01:32Kyler Murray, you know, he got hurt.
01:33And now you found Carson Wentz, who knows?
01:36I'm just throwing it to him.
01:37I don't care.
01:39I'm just throwing, there's a meme on the internet where Conor McGregor just throws, doesn't look, just chucks the football
01:44in the air.
01:45Someone's down there.
01:47Justin Jefferson's down there somewhere.
01:49Yup.
01:50Yup.
01:52So I thought their game plan was great, even though they did it with a backup quarterback.
01:57Carson Wentz looked ready, man.
01:59Preseason reps got in, looked ready, and executed.
02:03This is going to be a surprise team because that, that defense, that deep, that defense is going to be
02:11a problem.
02:12They have the best defensive coordinator in Brian Flores in the NFL.
02:17The best by far, and it's not even close.
02:20And it showed.
02:21I don't know what to think of the Packers.
02:24I, I just, I just don't.
02:25I was just going to ask you about that.
02:28If y'all think Michael Parsons is going to save y'all, you got another thing coming.
02:31Because that's more than Michael Parsons.
02:33They, they, their run game was inconsistent.
02:36Their quarterback play was insufferable.
02:39Like, I, I, I didn't love it.
02:42Because, John, like, you look at the Green Bay stats, and they, they had 1400, or 400 yards of offense
02:49compared to Minnesota's 239.
02:52And they lost by 17.
02:53Like, Christian Watson had 147 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
02:58And you look at Jordan Love's stat line, and it's 387 for two touchdowns.
03:03You're like, you're thinking, what happened?
03:05Well, 12 penalties, 98 penalty yards, two turnovers.
03:10It just doesn't seem like a well-coached, like a well-oiled machine.
03:13Remember, we were talking about the Bears and the Giants and how they just feel like they're in rhythm.
03:18They feel like everything's clicking.
03:20The Packers just don't get there for me.
03:23They just don't.
03:24They're going to, this is another team, rhythm-based.
03:28And they came out of the gate, and they didn't have the rhythm.
03:32The first half was solid.
03:33But even then, in the first half, it just kind of looked like they were putting plays together.
03:37It didn't look like a rhythmed offense.
03:40It looked like they have good players who can make plays.
03:42And that happened.
03:44But when the defense got turned up in the second half, and they really got put to the fire, they
03:48really didn't answer the bell.
03:50And so I, we've had a couple people come on this show and say, Matt LaFleur is probably on the
03:56hot seat.
03:56I would argue that Jordan Love might be on the hot seat far more than Matt LaFleur, because statistically, he
04:05always looks like he carries the water.
04:07But the success never follows.
04:09So I don't know if that's a coach issue or if that's a quarterback issue, because, again, like you said,
04:14his numbers look fantastic.
04:15But if you watch the game, he did not look like the best quarterback.
04:19And that's hard to say when you're on the field when Carson Wentz is the other guy.
04:23The Packers have lost six straight now, dating back to last season, including the playoffs.
04:28That's their longest losing streak since 1990-1991.
04:32They led by more than one score in the second half of four of those losses, including that wildcard game
04:38at Chicago.
04:41Yeah, listen, I was out on them before the season.
04:44This doesn't really change my mind.
04:46If anything, it kind of just reassures what I thought about the Packers.
