00:0233-year-old mechanic Lim Junwe on Tuesday claimed trial to a charge of abducting a married woman
00:08from her husband at the Marlim police station in Malacca. The accused pleaded not guilty at
00:14the Malacca magistrate's court in Ayakiru. He allegedly abducted the 33-year-old woman while
00:20she was in a car at the police station at about 1.30 p.m. on September 1. The charge
00:25was framed
00:26under section 363 of the penal code which provides for imprisonment of up to seven years and a fine
00:32upon conviction. It is understood that the woman was waiting in the car while her husband was lodging
00:38a police report on a separate matter. The accused allegedly got into the car and sped out of the
00:43police station prompting the woman to scream for help. He later stopped at a traffic light and
00:49passers-by came to the woman's aid. The court granted bail of 5,000 ringgit with one surety
00:55and fixed October 22nd for next mention.
