00:00Well, let's take a look at what's going on forecast-wise in the southeast.
00:04We're going to have some more lightning out there near and south of Interstate 4.
00:08Most of the southeast is just sweltering right now, especially west of I-75.
00:12It is going to be a little more comfortable into the areas east of Interstate 75.
00:17And actually, there's an onshore breeze, which is part of the story,
00:20helping to make us feel just a smidge more comfortable.
00:23But on the other hand, this is leading to rip currents and rough surf.
00:27So there are some beach dangers from areas around Duck and Corolla all the way down to Miami Beach.
00:33So the Carolina coast, Georgia, and the east side of Florida will be the scene of some rip current dangers
00:39and even a little bit of minor coastal flooding at high tide.
00:43All right, here we have our highs for Wednesday.
00:46And it's not just the southeast. It's kind of a diverse mix of cities.
00:50It'll be near record highs for Wednesday, almost to record territory of McAllen.
00:55We expect to tie a record high in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the third such day there for the calendar day
01:01in which we hit 101.
01:03Greenwood, Mississippi, should break a record high, probably doing the same up in Evansville, Indiana, near the Ohio River.
01:09And in Springfield, Missouri, look at that.
01:10In Greene County, smashing a record for the date by four degrees.
01:14We've been at 95 five times on Wednesday's date.
01:18Now, there won't be many showers or storms around.
01:19Most of us are going to stay dry.
01:21We'll spin the clock forward, and one exception is going to be Florida.
01:25There will be some numerous thunderstorms in the afternoon.
01:27There you can see some of them, mainly south of Interstate 4, a few to the north,
01:30but not a whole lot of action for the bulk of the southeast on Wednesday or Thursday.
01:36Thursday, we'll see a little bit of action in north Georgia, down to the spine of the mountains, into the
01:40Carolinas,
01:41and still some perpetual shower chances into Florida, but no really widespread rain in view in many of these areas.
01:49Thursday, there are those showers and storms into the mountains, but the heat holds in a big way farther west.
01:53Let's take a look at Thursday's record highs.
01:55Here we have Louisville in the background, and we're looking very warm, almost to record territory in Dallas.
02:01For Thursday's date, Memphis, the record high is 99 from just, what, seven years ago.
02:06We're going to be up around 100, probably breaking the record.
02:08We should break the record again in Evansville, two instances on Thursday's date when we hit 96 back in the
02:151920s, 1930s.
02:17We're looking at 98 this year.
02:18And Louisville should break a record beating in 1955, almost to a record there in Jackson, Kentucky.
02:24And Friday, we've got a little bit more thunderstorm action to the east.
02:28Still, though, mainly dry and just hot farther west.
