00:00Uh, Denver looked like they are, uh, maybe a little bit slower here or not up to par,
00:06but they, they too have made, uh, some different changes on the defensive side, but you're
00:11going to need Bo Nix to be better than what we just watched last night.
00:16And you mentioned it yesterday, Waddle, kudos to you.
00:19You weren't really sure you weren't buying Waddle in that offense to begin with, with
00:24Bo Nix.
00:25And I think he had what, one catch for two yards, something along, you know, you, you
00:29got to get better production from those guys in the passing game at this point.
00:34Yeah.
00:35And I'm not sure that they're going to, and look, I like Waddle as a player.
00:38He had some big games, Joe in Miami, but if, if you look at his career, it was more of
00:43where
00:43was Waddle as opposed to him playing well, like that, that was sort of what he was remembered
00:48for playing in Miami.
00:50It's not to say he didn't have some big games he did, but there was a season where Waddle
00:54had, you know, 70, 80 catches for like a thousand yards.
00:58Like he was basically a very short over the middle type receiver.
01:01And I, and I know that they talked about him being a major weapon and he's going to be
01:05the deep threat, but look, I can't judge it off one game.
01:10So I'm not going to pretend to do that.
01:11And there is a funny anecdote about the game today that he called a Bo Nix to in the, in
01:17the huddle today.
01:17That was something that came out, I guess.
01:19So one of the players said that or so.
01:21So, so, you know, I, I, I, like you, I don't want to overreact to anything that I'm seeing
01:26and I definitely think Denver will be better.
01:28I think their running game will be good.
01:29I think their defense will be better as well.
01:31Let's also not forget something that I mentioned here at the top of the show is that they, they
01:36still in the end have one of the strongest early season home field advantages in football
01:41because teams will tell you that no one wants to go play at mile high in the first month
01:46of the season.
01:47They're not conditioned, they're not ready, and I would expect Denver to get their first
01:52win of the season this week against Jacksonville.
01:54I do like the Jaguars a lot, and I think the Jags will be right back in the playoffs again,
01:58but I think this is a pretty tough spot for them.
02:01And what would Denver have been favored had they just played decent against Kansas City
02:06this week?
02:07Probably more than what they are right now is my guess.
02:10So I was going to be very interested to see if we got what kind of line movement, if
02:16any, based upon the results there last night.
02:20And I was, I was curious to see if that, because I still think they're two and a half
02:25Denver, if we're looking at next week, which I thought maybe if they had been able to live,
02:31we'd get three.
02:32And I still think it might get to three here because they do go home.
02:37And you mentioned it.
02:39There are some home teams in the month of September, Craig, that you want to back.
02:43Denver is one of them.
02:45And you and I both know Miami is one of them, although I don't know that I'm back in Miami,
02:50but it goes without saying.
02:53Yeah, right.
02:54Miami at home.
02:55I mean, folks don't understand what that, that side of the field is like in September in
03:00South Florida with zero shade.
03:03It's 128 degrees over there to hold game.
03:06You know, even, even though they're not the greatest team here, certainly defensively,
03:11that plays a big part in what happens in the third and fourth quarter.
03:14And Denver is the same thing.
03:16Mile high.
03:17You just don't fall off a plane.
03:18All of a sudden you play great in September there.
03:22No.
03:23And, and I think the last 10 years I looked at it, they are six and four straight up.
03:30And I think seven and three against the spread in their last 10 games, openers in mile high.
03:36So, and that's what them, you know, having Vic Fangio as head coach and having some other
03:40guys as head coach too.
03:42And they still tend to win those games too.
03:44So yeah, I think they'll get things right.
03:47I do like buy lows on a lot of the teams this week.
03:50The one that I'm, I'm not ready yet to decide on, but of course we have a quick turnaround here
03:56will be Thursday night because of the way that Detroit played, even though they won.
04:00And I don't think I'm going to buy in on them this, uh, this week.
04:03I just, I'm a little, little scared of them, but, but I do think the Rams is a buy for
04:08me.
04:09Uh, I do think the chargers will be a buy for me this week.
04:12Most of the teams that lost, there's that level of personal embarrassment where if the
04:18team is halfway good and it was a little bit of a surprise, I want to back our team
04:21the next week.
04:22Now I don't want to back Miami in San Francisco.
04:25I don't want to do that.
04:26I don't want to back Cleveland in Tampa Bay.
04:29Those things I don't want to do, but yes, I do want to believe that somewhat of what
04:34we thought at the beginning of the season was real.
