SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS.— Decenas de residentes de diversas comunidades pertenecientes a esta demarcación protagonizaron una manifestación pacífica en demanda de la reparación urgente de sus vías de comunicación terrestre y soluciones a problemáticas de servicios básicos.

Los manifestantes, organizados en bloque, representan a sectores como Mata Larga, La Salsa, El Limón, Azlor Santa Lucía, El Coroso, Guiza, Las Guáranas y La Amargura. Con pancartas y consignas, expresaron su descontento ante el estado de abandono que aseguran prevalece en la zona.

Voceros de la protesta indicaron que los tramos viales intervenidos previamente por compañías contratistas quedaron inconclusos y en condiciones deplorables. Denunciaron que en zonas como el trayecto hacia Mata Larga se dejaron tramos de más de un kilómetro afectados y sin asfaltar, lo que ha deteriorado sustancialmente la conectividad.

Asimismo, los comunitarios advirtieron sobre el impacto económico negativo que esta situación genera en la producción agrícola local. Al ser una zona altamente productiva de rubros como cacao, plátano, banano y frutos diversos, los agricultores enfrentan serias dificultades logísticas para comercializar y trasladar sus cosechas hacia los centros de distribución.

Problemáticas colaterales: agua potable y seguridad vial

Además del reclamo principal por el arreglo de las calles, los habitantes señalaron deficiencias críticas en el suministro de agua potable. También exigieron la intervención inmediata en infraestructuras vulnerables, señalando específicamente el peligro que representa el puente Tuagua, donde aseguran que se han registrado accidentes fatales.

Exigencia de respuesta institucional

Los comunitarios hicieron un llamado directo a las autoridades del Ministerio de Obras Públicas, la gobernación provincial y representantes legislativos, solicitando su presencia en el lugar para constatar las condiciones de la infraestructura y establecer un cronograma de trabajo efectivo. Los manifestantes advirtieron que mantendrán su postura firme hasta obtener garantías concretas de solución a sus demandas históricas.
