00:06recent debate between Leeds councillors. A motion tabled by councillor Kieran White
00:11called for a cross-party strategy and the strongest possible measures to protect public
00:17land. He told a Leeds City Council meeting unauthorised camps were costly to clean up
00:23and ruining some green spaces. The motion was opposed by councillor Mothin Alley,
00:28who raised concerns over the impact on minority traveller communities.
00:32The motion was also amended by Labour to say the council would work with the travelling community
00:37to continue supporting families with school placements and health checks as required.
